A YEAR END RANT BY DEWEY! WOW! KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family Happy New Year!!!!

We have been talking about, not complaining, but doing something about problems. While last night on New Mexico News and Views we talked about the "Great Aussie Firewall" that would block child pornography, excessive violence, instruction sites for crime, drugs, and terrorism.

Angelo Winfield of Computer Network Designs of Albuquerque and Pastor Garland Moore of Immanuel Baptist Church in Milan, NM joined the discussion and both think this is an excellent move by the Australian Government.

I agree! This is leadership! Why can't this happen in America? Why should all that nasty stuff be on the Internet? Leadership serves and protects it's people. It seems to me here that the Aussie's are way ahead of America on this.

As Richard Spray said on the program.........With the way a lot of American's interpret the Constitution, it will be hard to pass into law here in the U.S.

Here is a Country that is taking a leadership position on behalf of it's people........pornography is ruining families everyday here in the United States..it is such a HUGE problem............as Pastor Moore said last night on KKIM, pornography is in the Church! Many men who call themselves Christians and go to Church are addicted to pornography.

let me know what you think about this, if you think I am all wet...that's okay too.

I want to thank Angelo and Pastor Moore for speaking up about this and brining forth the TRUTH!

You know since the election is over I hear nothing about ABORTION!

Everyone wanted to talk about ABORTION in the recent election. It is another case of all talk and no action. The Republicans held the office of President for 8 years, NOTHING CHANGED........The Democrats had control in Washington the last few years.......NOTHING CHANGED.......

Meanwhile the United States is killing babies everyday.

We need leadership.........and leadership just does not talk it takes action.

We need laws in this country and strict enforcement to stop ABORTION, PRONOGRAPHY, and other such nasty stuff that spits in the eye of our LORD.

We need to take action as Christians to get these law's passed and we here at KKIM will keep brining these issues to the front and also talk to our elected officials about taking action, we also will be engaging Christian leaders to come forward and speak out about these issues. We will be having more prayer meetings. With prayer we can change the world!

WE are allowing SIN to fester here in the United States...right in our own communities. And some of you might say, WOW! Dewey, you really are going off........well, call it what you may........but I cannot sit back and pretend everything is okay........and I am just not going to complain and preach about it.God has instructed me through prayer to take action. HE will lead.

What has happened here in the United States, whether we want to admit it or not, SIN has become habit forming.

Okay....end of rant............HAPPY NEW YEAR and GOD BLESS!!

Here is the write up on what Australia is doing............

email me your thoughts, please

Your Questions Answered

Ask AP: Digital TV signals, campaign money limits

SYDNEY, Australia (AP) -- A proposed Internet filter dubbed the "Great Aussie Firewall" is promising to make Australia one of the strictest Internet regulators among democratic countries.
Consumers, civil-rights activists, engineers, Internet providers and politicians from opposition parties are among the critics of a mandatory Internet filter that would block at least 1,300 Web sites prohibited by the government - mostly child pornography, excessive violence, instructions in crime or drug use and advocacy of terrorism.
Hundreds protested in state capitals earlier this month.
"This is obviously censorship," said Justin Pearson Smith, 29, organizer of protests in Melbourne and an officer of one of a dozen Facebook groups against the filter.
The list of prohibited sites, which the government isn't making public, is arbitrary and not subject to legal scrutiny, Smith said, leaving it to the government or lawmakers to pursue their own online agendas.
"I think the money would be better spent in investing in law enforcement and targeting producers of child porn," he said.
Internet providers say a filter could slow browsing speeds, and many question whether it would achieve its intended goals. Illegal material such as child pornography is often traded on peer-to-peer networks or chats, which would not be covered by the filter.
"People don't openly post child porn, the same way you can't walk into a store in Sydney and buy a machine gun," said Geordie Guy, spokesman for Electronic Frontiers Australia, an Internet advocacy organization. "A filter of this nature only blocks material on public Web sites. But illicit material ... is traded on the black market, through secret channels."
Communications Minister Stephen Conroy proposed the filter earlier this year, following up on a promise of the year-old Labor Party government to make the Internet cleaner and safer.
"This is not an argument about free speech," he said in an e-mail to The Associated Press. "We have laws about the sort of material that is acceptable across all mediums and the Internet is no different. Currently, some material is banned and we are simply seeking to use technology to ensure those bans are working."
Jim Wallace, managing director of the Australian Christian Lobby, welcomed the proposed filter as "an important safeguard for families worried about their children inadvertently coming across this material on the Net."
Conroy's office said a peer-to-peer filter could be considered. Most of today's filters are unable to do that, though companies are developing the technology.
The plan, which would have to be approved by Parliament, has two tiers. A mandatory filter would block sites on an existing blacklist determined by the Australian Communications Media Authority. An optional filter would block adult content.
The latter could use keywords to determine which sites to block, a technology that critics say is problematic.
"Filtering technology is not capable of realizing that when we say breasts we're talking about breast cancer, or when we type in sex we may be looking for sexual education," Guy said. "The filter will accidentally block things it's not meant to block."
A laboratory test of six filters for the Australian Communications Media Authority found they missed 3 percent to 12 percent of material they should have barred and wrongly blocked access to 1 percent to 8 percent of Web sites. The most accurate filters slowed browsing speeds up to 86 percent.
The government has invited Internet providers to participate in a live test expected to be completed by the end of June.
The country's largest Internet provider, Telstra BigPond, has declined, but others will take part. Provider iiNet signed on to prove the filter won't work. Managing director Michael Malone said he would collect data to show the government "how stupid it is."
The government has allocated 45 million Australian dollars ($30.7 million) for the filter, the largest part of a four-year, AU$128.5 million ($89 million) cybersafety plan, which also includes funding for investigating online child abuse, education and research.
One of the world's largest child-advocacy groups questions such an allocation of money.
"The filter may not be able to in fact protect children from the core elements of the Internet that they are actually experiencing danger in," said Holly Doel-Mackaway, an adviser with Save the Children. "The filter should be one small part of an overall comprehensive program to educate children and families about using the Internet."
Australia's proposal is less severe than controls in Egypt and Iran, where bloggers have been imprisoned; in North Korea, where there is virtually no Internet access; or in China, which has a pervasive filtering system.
Internet providers in the West have blocked content at times. In early December, several British providers blocked a Wikipedia entry about heavy metal band Scorpion. The entry included its 1976 "Virgin Killer" album cover, which has an image of a naked underage girl. The Internet Watch Foundation warned providers the image might be illegal.
Canada, Sweden, the United Kingdom have filters, but they are voluntary.
In the United States, Pennsylvania briefly imposed requirements for service providers to block child-pornography sites, but a federal court struck down the law because the filters also blocked legitimate sites.
In Australia, a political party named the Australian Sex Party was launched last month in large part to fight the filter, which it believes could block legal pornography, sex education, abortion information and off-color language.
But ethics professor Clive Hamilton, in a column on the popular Australian Web site Crikey.com, scoffed at what he called "Net libertarians," who believe freedom of speech is more important than limiting what children can access online.
"The Internet has dramatically changed what children can see," said the professor at Charles Sturt University in Canberra, noting that "a few extra clicks of a mouse" could open sites with photos or videos of extreme or violent sex. "Opponents of ISP filters simply refuse to acknowledge or trivialize the extent of the social problem."

Christians Caught In Bombings

Pray For Marginalized Christian Community In Gaza

SANTA ANA, Calif. (Dec. 29, 2008) – The small Christian community in Gaza is drawing strength from its faith in God during three days of an Israeli offensive against Hamas’s rule over the Gaza Strip. Israeli bombs, in response to Hamas rocket launches into Israel, have left over 300 dead and 1400 injured.

According to reliable reports, the Gaza Baptist Church building is still standing but has had some of its windows shattered by the bombings. A police station across from the church building was bombed, resulting in approximately 40 deaths.

Also, some Christian families left Gaza for Bethlehem over the holidays and are now separated from their loved ones with the border sealed.

Many of the hospitals, already lacking basic medicines and medical equipment, are overwhelmed with the casualties and often are without power.

“Even before the recent end to the ceasefire (December 19) and the bombings, Christians in Gaza, which we estimate to be around 3,000, have been living in fear due to threats from Islamic militants,” says Open Doors USA President/CEO Carl Moeller. “We are still grieving after the murder of Christian bookstore manager Rami Ayyad over a year ago.

“Please join me in prayer for the plight of the Christians in Gaza in the wake of this new outbreak of violence. Pray for peace and a new ceasefire to be put into place quickly. Pray that Christian families will be reunited. Pray that the Gaza Baptist Church building will be spared from the bombs.”

Earlier this year one believer in Gaza stated: “Seventy percent of the Christians want to leave Gaza because they are very afraid. But we love Gaza. It’s our country, we have roots here, our homes are here. We will not know anyone if we go somewhere else.”

An estimated 100 million Christians worldwide suffer interrogation, arrest and even death for their faith in Christ, with millions more facing discrimination and alienation. Open Doors supports and strengthens believers in the world's most difficult areas through Bible and Christian literature distribution, leadership training and assistance, Christian community development, prayer and presence ministry and advocacy on behalf of suffering believers. Praise Note/Leave the Past Cup KKIM DDC

Good Morning KKIM Family,

Praise Note!!!! Patty, Sharon's best friend who we have been praying for as she faces cancer surgery, had her surgery yesterday and came out with an excellent report. The Doctor's believe that they got all the cancer and that Patty will have a full and complete recovery! The surgery was done by a robot, they call this robotic surgery......WOW! Thank you all for your prayers for Patty.

Please continue to go to www.deweysdailycup.com and pray over all the prayer requests. Also please ask others to join us in prayer. In the month of Dec. we have had nearly 350 new visitors to the site and almost half of them have added us to their list of favorites! PRAISE GOD!!! That is like having over 300 new visitors to your home this month to share God with!!!! And that is not even counting the KKIM web site stats that I have not checked yet!!!!! We are also reaching foreign countries! PRAISE GOD for this technology!!!! Thanks to Jannetta for making this all happen!

with the knowledge of HIS will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding......in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please HIM in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all POWER according to HIS glorious might. Col. 1:9-11

There is something so special about you all! You take the time to pray for the needs that are presented here.
It is so AWESOME in the LORD, what HE is doing in our lives. You are putting the needs of others first and you are serving God's people.

Here is a neat thing I saw in Pray magazine........

Prayerwalk a hospital, nursing home, prison, city mission, or other place of human need. Ask God to give hope and salvation to those who live in or receive services from these places. Pray for HIM to pour out a spirit of compassion on those who represent Christ to these souls: Chaplin, Christian caregivers and guards, and volunteer ministers. See Luke 4:18-19.

This is not complaining about the condition of the world this is taking a leadership role for God! WOW!

How about praywalking where you work?

Prayer is our connection to our maker.....

As you present your prayers to the Father, recognize the companionship and partnership of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Cultivate an awareness of Their fellowship with you in prayer. Contemplate Their compassion and perseverance as They intercede for and with you. See Romans 8:26,34; Heb. 7:25

Yesterday we talked about self-improvement projects..........Sam keeps me in line!

Hi Dewey, when you asked about any self-improvement projects? Well, how much time do you have? haha
My special prayer for myself is to have more compassion. More love for people. More Patience is always in there. And most of all but not least, Mercy on this poor soul of mine.

You know how the Bible says that there are three things in the world " the lust of the eyes, the lust of the body, and the pride of life". That sums up everything here.

Of course we know that Patience is a virtue, and that only GOD can give us virtues. It is a gift. My thesaures says that virtue: 'is moral excellence'. Wow. That sure would be great. I've read that only one man had it, and walked with God, till God took him to be in Heaven. Do you know his name Dewey? I have been searching the scriptures today to find it, I have forgotten. There isn't alot written about that man I know. But I would like to find that scripture again. To refresh my memory. I would appreciate it if you know who I am talking about.
I sure hope you had a great holiday. God Speed , Sam

Today we salute all those World War II vet's who went home to our Father this past year.......there are not many World War II vet's left here on earth. I am sure you will enjoy this write up and make sure and check out Quentin's web site which is listed below. Then below Nik sent us a reading for the new year and Karen writes us a PRAISE note........
Luverne WWII fighter pilot Quentin Aanenson dies
December 29, 2008
Quentin C. Aanenson, 87, the soft-spoken former fighter pilot and Luverne, Minn., native whose articulate, moving accounts of his role in World War II were a prominent part of Ken Burns’ PBS series “The War,” died of cancer at his home in Bethesda, Md., on Sunday, family members said Monday.
Aanenson was a member of Luverne High School’s class of 1939 whose experience as a fighter pilot, captured in a 1994 film, came to Burns’ attention and led to the town’s choice as one of four communities singled out in “The War.”
Aanenson, who flew 75 combat missions in Europe, and his wife, Jackie, had most recently lived in the Washington, D.C., area, but have relatives in Minnesota.
Aanenson had said his class motto was “Look out, world; here we come.” They did, he said: Every one of the 21 males in his class entered the military, except for one who was rejected because of a heart condition.
“Watch all seven episodes of this,” he told teenagers in Luverne at the series’ debut in the fall of 2007. “Watch it straight through the episodes. Try to realize that what you’re seeing is the emotional history of a people and a country.”

Good morning!!!

A comment was made by a Sunday school class mate that she going to move forward and let go of the past which falls perfectly inline to today's message. How prophetic was that. God's permissive will towards His perfect will :0)

Blessings, love and hugs,

Bury the Past

"Walk in newness of life..." Romans 6:4 NJKV

Some people stay up until midnight to welcome the New Year. Others stay up to make sure the old year leaves! Seriously, as you enter this New Year you can't afford to let your past infect your present, or sabotage your future. That's why certain things that refuse to be healed, must be forsaken and forgotten! There are people praising God in church every Sunday who lie awake in the privacy of their homes digging up bones, picking at scars and reliving old memories. You need to accept that some issues will never be resolved, and if you let them they'll take up residence in your head.

Thank God Paul was honest enough to admit that he still struggled in certain areas. Unlike those with a pharisaical spirit who condemn others for doing the very things they do themselves, Paul says, "I know the law but...can't keep it...sin...keeps sabotaging my best intentions, I...need help...I decide to do good, but...My decisions...don't result in actions. Something...gets the better of me every time" (Ro 7:17-20 TM). "Thank you Paul" from the rest of us who mistakenly thought that once we became Christians there'd be no more struggles! Then he goes on to say, "Consider yourselves to be dead to sin" (Ro 6:11 NAS); "Just as Christ was raised from the dead...we also should walk in newness of life" (Ro 6:4 NKJV).

In other words, stop pursuing dead issues; admit them, quit them and forget them! Instead of struggling to change what can't be changed, let God's transforming power sweep through your life and sever the ties between you and all those tormenting thoughts from your past. Let them go today in Jesus' Name!

Dewey, Good Morning. Can't help myself! Hope to inspire a little praise and hope! Love, Karen

How can I praise God in one little sentence? Do I start with all that HE did for me yesterday or do I just praise HIM for all that I see today? But that’s not all; I need to praise HIM for what HE has prepared for me tomorrow!

So praise to God! Praise God for loving us so! Praise God for allowing me to say to you that God loves you and you are not forgotten! Praise God and thank God for the hope that HE gives above all things. Our LORD Jesus loves us and HE is our hope and HE has hands to help us!

Praise God for HIS mercy and grace in that we may fail HIM, but HE never fails us! HIS power is great…HE is above all of our awful things. God IS Good! There is no doubt!

Doesn’t that just make you smile? To know that God gives love, joy, peace and hope…The fruits of the Spirit guide us…and sin detours us; Praise God for by HIS grace, we have Jesus, who has sent the HOLY SPIRIT to help us!

There are no restrictions to come to God…but there are rules that we must follow to be in HIS mist. These rules are not a secret…but they are found in the Spirit. Seek God 1st above all things and these rules are made known to us!

So praise God for loving us all and providing a plan that works…God needs a pure and perfect heart…a heart that HE prepares and molds for us…We just have to do the work to get out of our own way! It’s usually not easy…because it usually involves telling our ‘self’ to stop it, overcome and get over it…Working to get out of our own way usually involves telling our ‘self’ to do something good anyway (even if we don’t want to)! That is why I say we have to work it! Not work at it…instead work it in the Spirit to overcome those things that hold us down.

We have a choice to trust God and allow HIM to change our hearts…God gave us a free will…but to live in the divine hope we have in God, we need to conform to an attitude of Jesus!

I am with you under God and as the LORD leads me, I proclaim that our hope is Jesus and by the power of God we are enabled to walk above our problems when we seek God 1st and live by HIS rules. We need to trust God, because we need to be under HIS control.

Our strength is in the LORD and HIS power is mighty. We can work it, and God can do it!

What is your problem today? What needs fixed? What is making you sad and keeping you afraid? What seems just too big to overcome?

We can show God that we trust HIM more!

I had written more, but nothing that God can't tell you. Seek HIM 1st and live in the hope that God offers you! Remember that we are a child of the God most high!

Seek HIM and find HIM and what God can do is the most amazing thing to see...Love HIM....Trust HIM...HE is here with you...Do not doubt!

Love in Christ,

What a praise!

Karen Rowe....God is with us! Praise HIM...cuz HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD!!!

Amen!!!

May the Strength and Peace of the Lord be with You and Yours!

Happy New year, Dewey Sharon and family

BRAND NEW WEEK CUP/PRAYER NEEDS KKIM/DDC

Welcome to the last days of 2008!!!

Good Morning KKIM Family!!!

Our prayer is that you had a wonderful Christmas in our Lord!

It was the first Christmas for Heyden........our Great niece, My sister Deb is now a GRANDMA!!!! WOW!!! Nothing like having a brand new baby under the tree!!!!

I have been praying for you all and I have been listening to God.

I have been praying that I become a better person, a better servant of others, a better Husband, a better father.......

What have you been working on? Any self-improvement projects?

The Pope was right on with his Christmas message when he said greed would destroy the world. More on that below. Greed has sure taken it's toll on the United States, and we let it happen.

What is so wonderful is that we can pray to our Father and listen........listen for HIM.....

The message today is that we are not just to complain........we are to pray for wisdom to help with the problems that are all around us, not just complain. God will guide us, if we give ourselves up.

It seems that many have turned to complaining about things, even hate talk. We all need to be in prayer about this mood our country is in. We will go know where with this type of thinking.

Rick Warren writes in his book, "The Purpose of Christmas" (Yes the kids got me another book, it is AWESOME!!)

Were all born with an "I" problem. We are, by nature, self-centered. Just ask any parent who has raised a child. We don't have to be taught to be selfish. It comes naturally. If people were naturally unselfish, there never would be any conflict, divorce, abuse, greed, crime, gossip, or war on earth.

Our natural inclination is to want our own way instead of God's way. This tendency to make wrong choices instead of the right ones is called sin. The middle letter of sin is I, and whenever I place myself at the center of my life, I sin. It is any attitude or action that denies God HIS rightful place as first in my life.

Dewey's thoughts:

How do we help ourselves?, by not focusing on ourselves. We pray, we ask for God's guidance in our lives, so that we don't put ourselves first. We also by doing that are the shining light that God wants us to be, the leaders that HE wants us to be for HIM. So let us not complain, let us ask for forgiveness of our sins, let us pray for guidance in our lives, let us serve others, let us be shining lights for Jesus!

By not putting ourselves first, Greed would not take place.......so let us let that message shine through in our day to day lives.

We have this prayer need.............

Merry Christmas and Happy New year to you Dewey,

I have received some news from a very Dear friend of mine. I found out Christmas Eve actually as she got a call from her Doctor with results of several biopsies. She has a grapefruit sized tumor on her ovary and had various tumors in her colon and some spots in her liver. No warning, no symptoms, and completely devastated. They are going to try to do surgery on Jan 6. If they open her up and find that it has spread to other areas they will do only chemo. Please send out a prayer request for her as she is in stage 3. I am very afraid for her and she and her Husband need all the help they can get. She is a wonderful Christian.
Her name is Gale.
God Bless,
Nicole

We will be in prayer Nicole for Gale. Please let her know upwards of a thousand are now praying for her!!!

Please pray for Christopher. His Grandpa has asked for prayers for this 14 year old who is being raised by his Grandpa and Grandma. It seems Christopher is going through what we all did at 14, growing pains.

PRAISE NOTE:

Weeks ago we asked that you pray for Charlie Hickman. His wife Lavella told me that the Doctor's are pleased with the condition of the lung that has been a concern. (A black spot) Charlie's next check up is in March. Please keep him in your prayers.

One of the things I just love about KKIM and the Cup is the sharing and praying!

Jan Moore, one who has not put herself first at all in her life.......needs a liver transplant. We asked you for prayers awhile back. Last week? But another who does not put herself first is Sam......

Dearest Jan, I read about your needing a liver and was deeply touched. I think God has a great plan for you and your body. Not just an implant, not to make it sound like a small thing! but I believe He has plans for you through your implant. I don't know what or why Jan, but He has touched me so through reading about you. Sometimes a wife of a minister for our Lord, has many obligations. I'm sure you know You have a ministry also Jan. That comes with the territory. God usually puts two of His believers together so they may feed off of each other to be more effective in the cry for the Lord.
Our Lord will not only heal you and help you through it, He is beside you. Somehow you will be a witness for Him through your affliction. My heart and prayers are with you in this. As I am sure there are many Children of God praying for you at this time. You are not at all, alone.
Last night I was sitting in quietness in front of the fireplace Jan, with nothing on my mind. But as I watched the small flames under the only log left on a heap of coals, I added another log. The small log immediately burst into magnificent flames and warmth hit my face. I instantly thought of the children of God. Alone we can burn brightly with the amount Faith that God has given us. But when we are joined with the presence of another believer, we instantly shine brighter! We are warmer and it is just a natural occurrence. Praise God. For where there are two or more gathered there is our Lord and Saviour.
I will probably never meet you Jan, here on this earth. But our Heavenly Father has brought us together in Spirit to help your body get the strength and much more, the faith and contentment He wants you to have in this, a very tough time. It is all in HIS plan. You are in my prayers. God Speed. Sam

Thank you Sam for being a Leader for Jesus, by putting HIM first and HIS children!

Here is some unfinished business from Christmas.........I read this letter sent to me by Linda, but did not get it posted.........what a great reminder.......and it is on NOT COMPLANING......I love how the Lord works.........HE saved this posting for today!!!! I love the one that says...Behave like a Christian.

A Note From Jesus

Dear Children,

It has come to my attention that many of you are upset that folks are taking My name out of the season. How I personally feel about this celebration can probably be most easily understood by those of you who have been blessed with children of your own. I don't care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate My birth, just GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER. If it bothers you that the town in which you live doesn't allow a scene depicting My birth, then just get rid of a couple of Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity scene on your own front lawn. If all My followers did that there wouldn't be any need for such a scene on the town square because there would be many of them all around town. Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree a holiday tree, instead of a Christmas tree. It was I who made all trees. You can remember Me anytime you see any tree. Decorate a grape vine if you wish: I actually spoke of that one in a teaching, explaining who I am in relation to you and what each of our tasks were. If you have forgotten that one, look up John 15: 1 - 8. If you want to give Me a present in remembrance of My birth here is my wish list. Choose something from it:

1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way My birthday is being celebrated, write letters of love and hope to soldiers away from home. They are terribly afraid and lonely this time of year. I know, they tell Me all the time.

2. Visit someone in a nursing home. You don't have to know them personally. They just need to know that someone cares about them.

3. Instead of writing George complaining about the wording on the cards his staff sent out this year, why don't you write and tell him that you'll be praying for him and his family this year. Then follow up. It will be nice hearing from you again.

4. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can't afford and they don't need, spend time with them. Tell them the story of My birth, and why I came to live with you down here. Hold them in your arms and remind them that I love them.

5. Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and forgive him or her.

6. Did you know that someone in your town will attempt to take their own life this season because they feel so alone and hopeless? Since you don't know who that person is, try giving everyone you meet a warm smile; it could make the difference.

7. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town calls the holiday, be patient with the people who work there. Give them a warm smile and a kind word. Even if they aren't allowed to wish you a "Merry Christmas" that doesn't keep you from wishing them one. Then stop shopping there on Sunday. If the store didn't make so much money on that day they'd close and let their employees spend the day at home with their families.

8. If you really want to make a difference, support a missionary-- especially one who takes My love and Good News to those who have never heard My name.

9. There are individuals and whole families in your town who not only will have no "Christmas" tree, but neither will they have any presents to give or receive. If you don't know them, buy some food and a few gifts and give them to the Salvation Army or some other charity which believes in Me and they will make the delivery for you.

10. Finally, if you want to make a statement about your belief in and loyalty to Me, then behave like a Christian. Don't do things in secret that you wouldn' t do in My presence. Let people know by your actions that you are one of mine.

Don't forget; I am God and can take care of Myself. Just love Me and do what I have told you to do. I'll take care of all the rest. Check out the list above and get to work; time is short. I'll help you, but the ball is now in your court.

Have a most blessed Christmas with all those whom you love and remember: I Love You.

JESUS

May The Peace and Strength of the Lord be with You and Yours!

Our Christmas Story to you KKIM/DDC

Thank you Pastor Leonard for sending this is in!!!

Hey Brother Dewey.

This story blessed my life hoping and praying it will be a blessing in yours.

God bless, I am praying for you,
Leonard
a little lengthy, but one of the best Christmas stories ever.....

THE BEST CHRISTMAS EVERPa never had much compassion for the lazy or those whosquandered their means and then never had enough forthe necessities. But for those who were genuinely inneed, his heart was as big as all outdoors. It wasfrom him that I learned the greatest joy in life comesfrom giving, not from receiving. It was Christmas Eve 1881. I was fifteen years old andfeeling like the world had caved in on me becausethere just hadn't been enough money to buy me therifle I'd wanted for Christmas. We did the choresearly that night for some reason. I just figured Pawanted a little extra time so we could read in theBible. After supper was over I took my boots off andstretched out in front of the fireplace and waited forPa to get down the old Bible. I was still feelingsorry for myself and, to be honest, I wasn't in muchof a mood to read Scriptures. But Pa didn't get theBible, instead he bundled up again and went outside. I couldn't figure it out because we had already doneall the chores. I didn't worry about it long though,I was too busy wallowing in self-pity.Soon Pa came back in. It was a cold clear night outand there was ice in his beard. "Come on, Matt," hesaid. "Bundle up good, it's cold out tonight." I wasreally upset then. Not only wasn't I getting therifle for Christmas, now Pa was dragging me out in thecold, and for no earthly reason that I could see. We'd already done all the chores, and I couldn't thinkof anything else that needed doing, especially not ona night like this. But I knew Pa was not very patient at one draggingone's feet when he'd told them to do something, so Igot up and put my boots back on and got my cap, coat, and mittens. Ma gave me a mysterious smile as Iopened the door to leave the house. Something was up,but I didn't know what.Outside, I became even more dismayed. There in frontof the house was the work team, already hitched to thebig sled. Whatever it was we were going to do wasn'tgoing to be a short, quick, little job. I could tell. We never hitched up this sled unless we were going tohaul a big load.Pa was already up on the seat, reins in hand. Ireluctantly climbed up beside him. The cold wasalready biting at me. I wasn't happy. When I was on,Pa pulled the sled around the house and stopped infront of the woodshed. He got off and I followed. "Ithink we'll put on the high sideboards," he said. "Here, help me." The high sideboards! It had been abigger job than I wanted to do with just the lowsideboards on, but whatever it was we were going to dowould be a lot bigger with the high sideboards on.After we had exchanged the sideboards, Pa went intothe woodshed and came out with an armload ofwood---the wood I'd spent all summer hauling down fromthe mountain, and then all Fall sawing into blocks andsplitting. What was he doing? Finally I saidsomething. "Pa," I asked, "what are you doing?" "Youbeen by the Widow Jensen's lately," he asked. TheWidow Jensen lived about two miles down the road. Herhusband had died a year or so before and left her withthree children, the oldest being eight. Sure, I'dbeen by, but so what? "Yeah," I said, "Why?" "I rodeby just today," Pa said. "Little Jakey was outdigging around in the woodpile trying to find a fewchips. They're out of wood, Matt."That was all he said and then he turned and went backinto the woodshed for another armload of wood. Ifollowed him. We loaded the sled so high that I beganto wonder if the horses would be able to pull it. Finally, Pa called a halt to our loading, then we wentto the smoke house and Pa took down a big ham and aside of bacon. He handed them to me and told me toput them in the sled and wait. When he returned he was carrying a sack of flour overhis right shoulder and a smaller sack of something inhis left hand. "What's in the little sack?" I asked. "Shoes. They're out of shoes. Little Jakey just hadgunny sacks wrapped around his feet when he was out inthe woodpile this morning. I got the children alittle candy, too. It just wouldn't be Christmaswithout a little candy."We rode the two miles to Widow Jensen's pretty much insilence. I tried to think through what Pa was doing. We didn't have much by worldly standards. Of course,we did have a big woodpile, though most of what wasleft now was still in the form of logs that I wouldhave to saw into blocks and split before we could useit. We also had meat and flour, so we could sparethat, but I knew we didn't have any money, so why wasPa buying them shoes and candy?Really, why was he doing any of this? Widow Jensenhad closer neighbors than us; it shouldn't have beenour concern. We came in from the blind side of theJensen house and unloaded the wood as quietly aspossible, then we took the meat and flour and shoes tothe door. We knocked. The door opened a crack and atimid voice said, "Who is it?" "Lucas Miles, Ma'am,and my son, Matt. Could we come in for a bit?"Widow Jensen opened the door and let us in. She had ablanket wrapped around her shoulders. The childrenwere wrapped in another and were sitting in front ofthe fireplace by a very small fire that hardly gaveoff any heat at all. Widow Jensen fumbled with amatch and finally lit the lamp. "We brought you a fewthings, Ma'am," Pa said and set down the sack offlour. I put the meat on the table. Then Pa handedher the sack that had the shoes in it.She opened it hesitantly and took the shoes out onepair at a time. There was a pair for her and one foreach of the children---sturdy shoes, the best, shoesthat would last. I watched her carefully. She bither lower lip to keep it from trembling and then tearsfilled her eyes and started running down her cheeks. She looked up at Pa like she wanted to say something, but it wouldn't come out."We brought a load of wood, too, Ma'am," Pa said. Heturned to me and said, "Matt, go bring in enough tolast awhile. Let's get that fire up to size and heatthis place up." I wasn't the same person when I wentback out to bring in the wood. I had a big lump in mythroat and as much as I hate to admit it, there weretears in my eyes too.In my mind I kept seeing those three kids huddledaround the fireplace and their mother standing therewith tears running down her cheeks with so muchgratitude in her heart that she couldn't speak. Myheart swelled within me and a joy that I'd never knownbefore filled my soul. I had given at Christmas manytimes before, but never when it had made so muchdifference. I could see we were literally saving thelives of these people.I soon had the fire blazing and everyone's spiritssoared. The kids started giggling when Pa handed themeach a piece of candy and Widow Jensen looked on witha smile that probably hadn't crossed her face for along time. She finally turned to us. "God blessyou," she said. "I know the Lord has sent you. Thechildren and I have been praying that he would sendone of his angels to spare us."In spite of myself, the lump returned to my throat andthe tears welled up in my eyes again. I'd neverthought of Pa in those exact terms before, but afterWidow Jensen mentioned it I could see that it wasprobably true. I was sure that a better man than Pahad never walked the earth. I started remembering allthe times he had gone out of his way for Ma and me,and many others. The list seemed endless as I thoughton it.Pa insisted that everyone try on the shoes before weleft. I was amazed when they all fit and I wonderedhow he had known what sizes to get. Then I guessedthat if he was on an errand for the Lord that the Lordwould make sure he got the right sizes.Tears were running down Widow Jensen's face again whenwe stood up to leave. Pa took each of the kids in hisbig arms and gave them a hug. They clung to him anddidn't want us to go. I could see that they missedtheir Pa, and I was glad that I still had mine.At the door Pa turned to Widow Jensen and said, "TheMrs. wanted me to invite you and the children over forChristmas dinner tomorrow. The turkey will be morethan the three of us can eat, and a man can getcantankerous if he has to eat turkey for too manymeals. We'll be by to get you about eleven. It'll benice to have some little ones around again. Matt, here, hasn't been little for quite a spell." I wasthe youngest. My two brothers and two sisters had allmarried and moved away. Widow Jensen nodded and said,"Thank you, Brother Miles. I don't have to say, 'Maythe Lord bless you,' I know for certain that He will."Out on the sled I felt a warmth that came from deepwithin and I didn't even notice the cold. When we hadgone a ways, Pa turned to me and said, "Matt, I wantyou to know something. Your ma and me have beentucking a little money away here and there all year sowe could buy that rifle for you, but we didn't havequite enough. Then yesterday a man who owed me a little money fromyears back came by to make things square. Your ma andme were real excited, thinking that now we could getyou that rifle, and I started into town this morningto do just that. But on the way I saw little Jakeyout scratching in the woodpile with his feet wrappedin those gunny sacks and I knew what I had to do. Son, I spent the money for shoes and a little candyfor those children. I hope you understand."I understood, and my eyes became wet with tears again.I understood very well, and I was so glad Pa had doneit. Now the rifle seemed very low on my list ofpriorities. Pa had given me a lot more. He had givenme the look on Widow Jensen's face and the radiantsmiles of her three children. For the rest of my life, whenever I saw any of theJensens, or split a block of wood, I remembered, andremembering brought back that same joy I felt ridinghome beside Pa that night. Pa had given me the bestChristmas of my life.

MERRY CHRISTMAS CARD II KKIM/DDC

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
I Love greeting you that way!!! I am blessed to have this blog and the radio ministry of KKIM to say those words!
Grab a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, like Sharon does and enjoy this.......
This Christmas card was written by Chuck Norris........

The question is not whether Jesus lived, but who he was, and is. It's a question we all will answer, consciously or not, especially this Christmas week. It's a question even Jesus asked the people of his day, "Who do people say that I am?"
As for me and my house, He is the Son of God and Savior of the world. That's what we celebrate most on Christmas Day. At very least, any unbiased previewer of history cannot deny that time and civilizations have pivoted on his unique and "One Solitary Life":
He was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman. He grew up in still another village, where he worked in a carpenter shop until he was thirty. Then for three years he was an itinerant preacher.
He never wrote a book.
He never held an office.
He never had a family or owned a house.
He didn't go to college.
He never traveled 200 miles from the place where he was born. He did none of these things one usually associates with greatness.
He had no credentials but himself.
He was only 33 when public opinion turned against him. His friends ran away. He was turned over to his enemies and went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed to a cross between two thieves.
When he was dying, his executioners gambled for his clothing, the only property he had on earth. When he was dead, he was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.
Nineteen centuries have come and gone, and today he is the central figure of the human race, the leader of mankind's progress.
All the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever say, all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man on earth as much as that One Solitary Life.
The fact is, wise men still seek him. And if you genuinely follow his star, you'll find a stable, not a fable.
MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM ALL OF US AT KKIM AND THE CUP!!!!
WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORT THERE WOULD BE NO CUP OR KKIM!!!!

WEEKEND CUP/UCLA COACH JOHN WOODEN KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

The Lord moved me to share this with you this weekend.........In all times..........and especially times like this we need to remember this...........Former UCLA basketball coach John Wooden, one of the greatest coaches who ever lived, said, "Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do."AMEN!!! WOW!!
Do not let the clouds of today prevent you from reaching sunny skies! Wooden focused on the journey, not the destination.Yet his work ethic and focus on things within his control earned his UCLA teams four undefeated seasons, and 88 game winning streak, and an incredible 10, yes 10!!!!!! national championships.
As you move forward in your daily walk with Jesus Christ, you need to remember that what happens IN YOU is more important than what happens to you!!!You can control your attitude in your walk with Jesus, but you have no control over the actions of others. The majority of the fear and stress that we experience in life is from things we can do nothing about. The skies may be cloudy and stormy today................but keep the faith, as those skies will clear."Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do."A great reminder in many ways for all of us...........Focus on the things YOU CAN DO..........NOT WHAT YOU CAN'T DOAmen

No matter how tempted we are to turn to our own devices, SURRENDER every thought, desire, and personal effort to the LORD.

Be still, and know that I am GOD. Psalm 46:10................Listen........God is calling you now.........listen............be still.......Do you hear what I hear?

Merry Christmas Dear Friends, Dewey Sharon and family and all of us at KKIM

Daniel Ruiz of New Mexico Body of Christ appearing on New Mexico News and Views........." We need to ask ourselves when we get home each day....What did I sacrifice today? What did I give today? What did I sacrifice today for God's people?"

Here is an update on Amy who we continue to pray for..................
Here is Amy's update from her cat/pt scan on Tuesday, we are so thankful for all of you and your prayers. Amy wrote:Woohoo! Praise God! Results of the latest scan shows no hypermetabolic activity...bone damage is stable, which means that the cancer cells are there, but they are not active, not consuming energy, which means they are dead! The assistant told me that new mets are unlikely when the causing cells are dead..The healing will happen as I continue the zometa.... My dear friends, I am so grateful for your prayers and your support. This isn't over yet, I20have two more months of chemo (I have a conservative doctor, thank you God, who wants to make sure....) and will continue on herceptin for awhile to make sure if there are any rogue cells they will not find it easy to reproduce! He says if it comes back we will be just as aggressive next time. I can't tell you what a joy this is, I have been so very tired, wondering where I would get the energy to do what has to be done, but I feel totally invigorated! Pain with a purpose, yuck that is working, is so much more bearable! :0) May God bless you all this holiday season. May you find peace and joy in Him and with your loved ones, and know that you are definitely loved and appreciated here in Pasadena by t

Mornin' Dewey, What a great way to start a day, with a prayer and a great laugh. The U-Haul behind a hearse went straight to my funny bone.Thank you.Roy

You bet Roy........as Chuck Swindoll says.........We came in naked and we will leave naked...........I said years ago that we American's were getting to think pretty big of ourselves driving those big Hummers, A Military vehicle for heavens sake.........buying this and that.........now look at our country! GREED will get us know where. Our country has been putting the almighty dollar first, not GOD.

This morning I want to share with you something from Chuck Swindoll's book he wrote on the life of Moses...
I was blessed with this gift by Chuck and his staff.........

We have been talking about leadership.........God wants us to be leaders........leaders for Jesus........Having you everyday here having a Cup and listening to KKIM makes you a leader for Jesus, as you pray for HIS people.

Chuck writes........
Moses became God's man for a transitional epoch in history. When the divine call came to assume a crucial role in the destiny of men and nations, Moses stepped into the gap. he may have been reluctant. he may have been frightened. he may have been filled with regret and self-doubt.(You have been there right?) But in the end Moses yielded......and became God's instrument in his own generation.

It is the same in this generation, at this epochal moment. God is still looking for the man or women who will believe HIM, despite weaknesses and doubts, and become a mighty tool in HIS hand......and instrument of HIS purpose.

WOW! Good stuff.........

Are you ready for God's call? Is God calling you....and you are not answering the phone?

here's a note from Dr. Deb on her program tomorrow morning at 8:05am........

Hey Dewey, It was good to check in with you last Friday. You and your brother have been in my thoughts and prayers. I was happy to see in a recent email that you two are having some good communication. That is wonderful. So many times people like your brother find themselves estranged from family members. Your brother is blessed to have you there to talk to. I pray that he will make miraculous strides as he deals with such difficult obstacles. I just picture you two walking a conquerors, shoulder to shoulder despite the distance. I hope you are able to see him soon.If we don't connect before Christmas, I wish you and your family a blessed time as the world celebrates Jesus' birthday!Merry Christmas, Dewey!shona

Karen Rowe who is on at 7:45am Saturdays shares this.........

Hope in Today, with Karen Rowe

This morning we will start our day in unity believing for hope above all things that come against us!
The scriptures tell us how to have hope when it seems to hard.

Is there anything too big for God? My faith says no, because my hope is Jesus!
And we are not forgotten just because we don't always see immediate change.

The treasury of God's hope is found through refocusing our eyes, mind and heart to look up to God with an attitude of Jesus.

With trust and faith in God and His Word...more than believing, more than understanding...Faith is powered by our HOPE in Jesus in all things!
Praise God for a living HOPE!

Is anything too big for God?

God's promise to us is that HE will never leave or forsake us!
We must do our part and learn the rest that Jesus teaches us...more than learn...we must be obedient to God's way...I encourage us to learn and live in the ministry of Jesus!

Our hope is designed to be powerful, but only if our heart is in a attitude of Jesus...
Jesus teaches, "ye of so little faith...Why do you fear"

Our God is our Father and HE is above all things. HIS power is divine and HE loves us!
Is God above your problem? Certainly! HE IS...If you fear, then fear is getting in the way of your hope. Don't look at the problem...LOOK higher to God!

Jesus is our hope and by learning God's WORD we are enabled by HIS strength to stay out of our own way!
God is pleased to give us the Kingdom...but we must search our heart and refocus our eyes, mind and heart on seeking God 1st.

But how do we seek God 1st when we don't "feel " emotionally strong???

We say, "LORD help me"

Jesus IS our strength because HE knows we are weak.

Refocusing our heart to seek God 1st above all emotions that Jesus details in scripture.

Looking today with a focus on Matthew Chapter 5 thru at least the end of Chapter 7. Please read! It is the treasury of God's hope.

Is there one thing that is heavy on your heart that Jesus can take away...Jesus is here to help us. Jesus teaches us to overcome strongholds on our heart. Jesus enables us to let go of anger, worries and burdens to live in the hope we have in Jesus

Peace and Joy are our gifts from God! Enjoy the love that God so freely gives! Praise to God in the highest, as in unity we thank God for blessing us with HIS love!

God Bless you and Merry Christmas!

Love in Christ,
Karen Rowe

Let me share with you this prayer need..........

Brother Dewey we still need your urgent prayers for selling of properties in Cape Town. Due to high interest rates we cant afford it anymore and ourfinances are critical. We know for Jesus is anything possible. God bless! Dana du Plessis

We will be praying Dana! Please also pray for the sale of our home in Los Alamos. Sharon and I feel this is all in God's hands and HE will provide and HE will lead. Everything is HIS anyhow...HE owns everything we have........We where born naked and we are going out naked! I have never seen a hearse with a Uhaul attached!

The following is a Christmas cup for you to enjoy.........James Arness of Gunsmoke fame has this posted on his web site... .... http://www.jamesarness.com/ thought you would enjoy........God Bless and Merry Christmas!

'Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone,in a one bedroom house made of plaster and stone. I had come down the chimney with presents to give, and to see just who in this home did live. I looked all about, a strange sight I did see, no tinsel, no presents, not even a tree. No stocking by mantle, just boots filled with sand, on the wall hung pictures of far distant lands. With medals and badges, awards of all kinds, a sober thought came through my mind. For this house was different, it was dark and dreary,I found the home of a soldier, once I could see clearly. The soldier lay sleeping, silent, alone, curled up on the floor in this one bedroom home. The face was so gentle, the room in such disorder, not how I pictured a United States soldier. Was this the hero of whom I'd just read?Curled up on a poncho, the floor for a bed? I realized the families that I saw this night, owed their loves to these soldiers who were willing to fight.Soon round the world, the children would play, and grownups would celebrate a bright Christmas day. They all enjoyed freedom each month of the year, because of the soldiers, like the one lying here. I couldn't help wonder how many lay alone, on a cold Christmas Eve in a land far from home. The very thought brought a tear to my eye, I dropped to my knees and started to cry.

The soldier awakened and I heard a rough voice,"Santa don't cry, this life is my choice;I fight for freedom, I don't ask for more,my life is my God, my Country, my Corps." The soldier rolled over and drifted to sleep.I couldn't control it, I continued to weep.I kept watch for hours, so silent and stilland we both shivered from the cold night's chill.I didn't want to leave on that cold, dark, night, this guardian of honor so willing to fight. Then the soldier rolled over, with a voice soft and pure, whispered, "Carry on Santa, it's Christmas day, all is secure."One look at my watch, and I knew he was right."Merry Christmas my friend, and to all a good night."- Anonymous

Merry Christmas, Dewey Sharon and family

MONDAY MORNING CUP ON LEADERSHIP KKIM/DDC

Good Morning KKIM Family!

From John Maxwell's Leadership Bible........

1. Not everything that happens conforms to God's will and wishes.

2. Nothing that happens gets overlooked by God.

3. Everything that happens will ultimately be addressed with justice.

4. Nothing that happens should distract us from continuing to respond faithfully.

How about this wonderful letter from a friend of Sam( Reader of the Cup and made the statue of Ken Curtis (Festus on Gunsmoke) for Ken's town of Clovis, California) who also knew Ken Curtis. I thank the Lord for our growing family in Christ!

Hi Dewey,

I just received an email from my dear friend Sam, who makes the statues of Ken Curtis and the cowboys etc. She is extremely talented and I have been friends with her for about 35 years. She is such a doll.
I know your a Ken Curtis fan, as am I. I work at Vons grocery store (Safeway) and have been with them for 27 years. Ken used to shop at our store. I loved him. He used double coupons and was a great shopper. I used to follow him around the store and tell him how much I admired him and the show he was in called "The Yellow Rose". We had some nice chats down the aisles. He was such an easy man to talk to. His wife was a little more aggressive than he. He was a special soul that was so humble and should have had more recognition for his contributions to life, and didn't get.
I am happy to find you and that Sam referred me to you as I love the Lord and know he is taking care of me at all times. These are hard times for everyone and hard for a lot of people to focus on the positive. I listened to Joel Olsteen this morning and he said to turn the negative thoughts into positive thoughts and believe the Lord will see you through. I listened.
Nice to be in contact with you and hope to hear from you.
God Bless,
Nicole

Thanks for being part of the family Nicole.....We are Prayer Warriors for Jesus! Leaders for Jesus....more on that in this cup!

I am thankful for each and every one of you!

And PRAISE GOD we have another note from a new friend Dutch!

Do you have any idea where/when Robert A. Schuller will continue his ministry? I feel close to the Schuller family and attended regularly when I lived So Ca.. I met Donna and her Mother a few times in San Clemente. i thought Robert A was improving it seems like there was a dispute between Colemans and Robert A.

Thanks for writing Dutch! What a Dutch treat as we used to say back home! There is a story from the LA Times today that Robert just got back from a speaking engagement in Brazil and will not talk to the media, or make any comment. My heart ached for the Schuller family and the ministry. The Times report says he will be opening his own ministry.

Here is what Christianity Today has on the story..........

"I was called to start a mission, not a church.......You don't try to preach......what is sin and what isn't sin. A mission is a place where you ask nonbelievers to come and find faith and hope and feel love." Robert H. Schuller of the Crystal cathedral after removing his son, Robert A. Schuller, from the Hour of Power tv program.

A father and son split is never good........and it also involves a ministry........please keep this in your prayers.

I get so excited about getting emails, then getting them from new folks...get's me really excited in the LORD! I am so thankful that the LORD is allowing this ministry to grow! This ministry is to be a family in the LORD, a praying family, a family where you can feel safe in the LORD, where you are always welcomed.

If we have not heard from you in awhile...how about dropping us a line! Do you have anybody that you would like to add to the email blast list?

Have them check out www.deweysdailycup.com and www.mykkim.com

I have a PRAISE NOTE!!! I have been talking to my brother Daryl for the last several days. We are having some very good talks. I would like to fly out and see Daryl soon. Please pray for the Lord's will in these travel plans and in this relationship and for Daryl's health. Thanks and God Bless.

A Christmas baby!!! I am going to be a Great Uncle! Megan Rogers, my sister Deb's daughter, is expecting her first child any day! Please keep this in y0ur prayers.

Happy birthday to one of our dear friends Araceli Amaro. Araceli's birthday is actually tomorrow, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Araceli has been a reader of the Cup for years!

Also Congrats to the Rick Griffin family........daughter Natalie graduated from College and also was the speaker for the graduating class!!

Mark 7:15

"There is nothing that enters a man from the outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man."

Mark 6: 50

"Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid."

As many of you know I am now reading John Maxwell's Leadership Bible and his 21 Irrefutable laws of Leadership.

I really believe that if we all work at being better leaders for Christ.........we can change the whole world! When it comes down right to it, most problems in our families, business, government, schools, church's is because of poor leadership.

Here is something I would like to share with you from Maxwell........

God is the Ultimate leader, and HE calls every believer to lead others. God could have arranged HIS creation any number of ways. HE chose to create human beings who possess spirits and the capacity to relate to HIM and follow HIM, yet who are not forced to do so. When mankind fell into sin, God could have easily executed a plan of redemption that did not include sinful people in the process. But HE has called us to participate and to lead others as we follow HIIM. HE makes that clear from the beginning: "Let us make man in OUR image, according to OUR likeness; let them have dominion...." Gen. 1:26

Maxwell continues.........I wholeheartedly believe that everything rises and falls on leadership. By that I mean that, more than anything else, the leadership of any group or organization will determine its success or failure. You can see the impact of leadership in the Bible. In ancient Israel, when God's people had a good king, all was well with the nation. When they had a bad king, things went poorly for everyone. That's why Scripture teaches that without a vision people perish. see Prov. 29:18

The call to leadership is a consistent pattern in the Bible. When God decided to raise up a nation of HIS own, HE didn't call upon masses. HE called out one leader---Abraham. When HE wanted to deliver HIS people out of Egypt, HE didn't guide them as a group. HE raised up a leader to do it-----Moses. When it came time for the people to cross into the Promised Land, they followed one man------Joshua. Every time God desires to do something great, HE calls a leader to step forward. Today He still calls leaders to step forward for every great work.

Great words from Jon Maxwell!

Are you ready for the call?

Poor leadership in our homes, at work, in our schools, government........is one of the main reasons we are where we are at in this country!

How can we become better leaders?

Each of us needs to be better!

We will tackle this more later this week. A lot of people think leadership is being a boss, put my foot down type of person.......wrong!

Maxwell looks toward the example Mother Teresa...........

Author and former speech writer Peggy Noonan was at the speech that Mother Teresa gave at the National Day of Prayer Breakfast in 1994. It illustrates Mother Teresa's leadership..........

The Washington establishment was there, plus a few thousand born-again Christians, orthodox Catholics, and Jews. Mother Teresa spoke of God, of love, of families. She said we must love one another and care for one another. There were great purrs of agreement.

But as the speech continued, it became more pointed. She spoke of unhappy parents in old people's homes who are "hurt because they are forgotten." She asked, "Are we willing to give until it hurts in order to be with our families, or do we put our own interests first?"

The baby boomers in the audience began to shift in their seats. And she continued. "I feel that the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion," she said, and told them why, in uncompromising terms. For about 1.3 seconds there was silence, then applause swept the room. But not everyone clapped; President Clinton and First lady Hillary Clinton, the Vice President and Mrs. Gore looked like seated statues at Madame Tussaud's, moving not a muscle. Mother Teresa didn't stop there either. When she was finished, there was almost no one she hadn't offended.

At that time if just about any other person in the world had made those statements, people's reactions would have been openly hostile. They would have booed, jeered, or stormed out. But the speaker was Mother Teresa. She probably was the most respected person on the planet at that time. So everyone listened to what she had to say, even though many of them violently disagreed with it. In fact, every time that Mother Teresa spoke, people listened.

Why? She was a real leader, and when the real leader speaks, people listen. Leadership is influence----nothing more, nothing less.

We can all be better leaders for the LORD. Everyone of us. Remember also......a Leader is a servant of his people.

Got a lot of good feed back on our Christmas stories from last week....here are some more........
Here is a great story from Joe Rowe...........

The Pastor and his son>>> Every Sunday afternoon, after the morning service at the church, the> Pastor> and his eleven year old son would go out into their town and hand out> Gospel Tracts.> This particular Sunday afternoon, as it came time for the Pastor and his> son to go to the streets with their tracts, it was very cold outside, as> well> as pouring down rain. The boy bundled up in his warmest and driest > clothes> and said, 'OK, dad, I'm ready.'>>> His Pastor dad asked, 'Ready for what?'>> 'Dad, it's time we gather our tracts together and go out.'>>> Dad responds, 'Son, it's very cold outside and it's pouring down rain.'>>> The boy gives his dad a surprised look, asking, 'But Dad, aren't people> still going to Hell, even though it's raining?'>> Dad answers, 'Son, I am not going out in this weather'>>> Despondently, the boy asks, 'Dad, can I go? Please?'>>> His father hesitated for a moment then said, 'Son, you can go. Here are> the> tracts, be careful son.'>>> 'Thanks Dad!'>>> And with that, he was off and out into the rain This eleven year old > boy> walked the streets of the town going door to door and handing everybody > he> met in the street a Gospel Tract.>>> After two hours of walking in the rain, he was soaking, bone-chilled wet> and down to his VERY LAST TRACT. He stopped on a corner and looked for> someone to hand a tract to, but the streets were totally deserted.>>> Then he turned toward the first home he saw and started up the sidewalk> to> the front door and rang the door bell. He rang the bell, but nobody> answered.>>> He rang it again and again, but still no one answered He waited but > still> no answer.>> Finally, this eleven year old trooper turned to leave, but something> stopped him.>>> Again, he turned to the door and rang the bell and knocked loudly on the> door with his fist. He waited, something holding him there on the front> porch!>>>> He rang again and this time the door slowly opened.>>>> Standing in the doorway was a very sad-looking elderly lady. She softly> asked, 'What can I do for you, son?' With radiant eyes and a smile that> lit up> her world, this little boy said,>>>> 'Ma'am, I'm sorry if I disturbed you, but I just want to tell you that> *JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU* and I came to give you my very last Gospel> Tract> which will tell you all about JESUS and His great LOVE.'>>> With that, he handed her his last tract and turned to leave.>>> She called to him as he departed. 'Thank you, son! And God Bless You!'>>> Well, the following Sunday morning in church Pastor Dad was in the > pulpit.>>> As the service began, he asked, 'Does anybody have testimony or want to> say anything?'>>> Slowly, in the back row of the church, an elderly lady stood to her > feet.>>> As she began to speak, a look of glorious radiance came from her face,> 'No> one in this church knows me. I've never been here before.>>>> You see, before last Sunday I was not a Christian. My husband passed on> some time ago, leaving me totally alone in this world. Last Sunday, > being> a> particularly cold and rainy day, it was even more so in my heart that I> came> to the end of the line where I no longer had any hope or will to live.>> So I took a rope and a chair and ascended the stairway into the attic > of> my home. I fastened the rope securely to a rafter in the roof, then > stood> on> the chair and fastened the other end of the rope around my neck. > Standing> on that chair, so lonely and brokenhearted I was about to leap off, when> suddenly the loud ringing of my doorbell downstairs startled me. I> thought,> 'I'll wait a minute, and whoever it is will go away.'>>> I waited and waited, but the ringing doorbell seemed to get louder and> more insistent, and then the person ringing also started knocking > loudly.>>> I thought to myself again, 'Who on earth could this be? Nobody ever > rings> my bell or comes to see me.' I loosened the rope from my neck and > started> for the front door, all the while the bell rang louder and louder.>>> When I opened the door and looked I could hardly believe my eyes, for> there on my front porch was the most radiant and angelic little boy I > had> ever> seen in my life. His SMILE, oh, I could never describe it to you!>>> The words that came from his mouth caused my heart that had long been> dead,> TO LEAP TO LIFE as he exclaimed with a cherub-like voice, 'Ma'am, I just> came to tell you that JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU.' Then he gave me this> Gospel Tract that I now hold in my hand.>>>> As the little angel disappeared back out into the cold and rain, I > closed> my door and read slowly every word of this Gospel Tract. Then I went up > to> my attic to get my rope and chair. I wouldn't be needing them any more.>> You see---I am now a Happy Child of the KING. Since the address of your> church was on the back of this Gospel Tract, I have come here to> personally> say THANK YOU to God's little angel who came just in the nick of time > and> by> so doing, spared my soul from an eternity in hell.'>>> There was not a dry eye in the church And as shouts of praise and honor > to> THE KING resounded off the very rafters of the building, Pastor Dad> descended from the pulpit to the front pew where the little angel was> seated.>>> He took his son in his arms and sobbed uncontrollably.>>> Probably no church has had a more glorious moment, and probably this> universe has never seen a Papa that was more filled with love & honor > for> his> son... Except for One.>> Our Father also allowed His Son to go out into a cold and dark world. He> received His Son back with joy unspeakable, and as all of heaven shouted> praises and honor to The King, the Father sat His beloved Son on a > throne> far> above all principality and power and every name that is named.>>> Blessed are your eyes for reading this message.>>> Don't let this message die, read it again and pass it to others. Heaven > is> for His people!>>> Remember, God's message CAN make the difference in the life of someone> close to you.

A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE CUP KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

Thank you for your prayers..........here is an update on Tony's surgery.........

It's a Christmas Miracle!!!!!

Dewey,
I have just seen a miracle. I just visited my friend Tony in UNM Hospital in Ablq. He had his brain surgery yesterday morning and the Dr said, "It went much better than we had hoped for." When I saw him today in the ICU, he was awake, smiling, eating and sitting up in bed. The Dr says he may go home tomorrow!! (Friday) He looks great and says he feels fine. He has about 20 staples in his head, it looks like a zipper from ear to ear across the top of his head. Amazing. Tony wanted me to thank everyone for their prayers, they were certainly answered. The Dr says Tony will probably not need any more surgery. He hopes to go back to college next semester. Frank (The Old Texan) Haley cjf Isa. 9:6"When the sunshine of God's love meets the showers of our sorrow, the rainbow of promise appears."

Thanks for the update Frank!!! WOW!!!

How GREAT is that!

Though for the Day from Phillip Yancey.......

Prayer invites me to bring my whole life into God's presence for cleansing and restoration.
let is prepare to go to prayer.........

It is good for me to draw near to God, I have put my trust in the LORD GOD. Psalm 73:28
I had four friends really bless me this week. To me a true friend stays with you in tough times, can talk to you in a loving way but also get you to slow down and listen to advice.......help you make some changes in your life without doing it in a mean way.

My first dear friend Rick Griffin brought me a Bible on Thursday....the John Maxwell Leadership Bible.......WOW!!! That has been such a blessing to me!!! I have been sharing it on the air during New Mexico News and Views.

The other dear friend is Pastor Bob Brown of Christ Community Fellowship who talked to me about slowing down and not having so many balls in the air, as I drop a few now and then. It helped me reflect on my life and my daily chores and I am in prayer about that.
I also want to thank Merry Bigelow who helps me in my daily walk.

Most of all I want to thank my wife Sharon, who is always looking out for me. She is so concerned about my well being. She takes good care of my heart.

I am truly blessed my dear friends who can correct me, guide me along.

Sharon and I need your prayers........When we bought our house in Albuquerque almost 2 years ago part of the deal was made on when our house in Los Alamos was sold, proceeds from that house would go to paying off part of the loan on the Albuquerque house that is due Dec. 31, 2008. Well, the Los Alamos house has been for sale for 2 years now and not moved. We have this huge loan payment due by Dec. 31st. Would you please pray for us? We want to be smart in what we do here and follow the Lord's will in all this. It is coming down to High Noon and we would appreciate your prayers. We have worked on many options but none have worked out yet. We just want to follow the Lord's will for us and this situation. Sorry to bother you with this.

Please pray for the Doris Hustad family. Doris's family lost her son this fall after he just graduated from college. It being Christmas time makes this very tough on the family.

Please pray for Jannetta (our web master) as she gave blood the other day and suffered an injury to her arm when the blood was being drawn.

Please continue to pray for Lynne Buggs and her cancer treatment.

Please continue to pray for Daryl Moede, my brother, as he recovers. he is doing much better, thank you.

Speaking of friends...........

Good morning Pastor Dewey,

Thanks so much for your morning email. It blessed my soul tremendously.

YOUR thought for the day: Joshua 1:9, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
Remember..."if the living knew what the dead know, the world would be saved within 24 hours."

I am praying for you and Sharon.

Your friend,
Leonard

Though for the Day:

Being God's kind of leader means refusing even the smallest compromise in what you believe.

Both courage and fear are contagious

In times of conflict, leaders must act decisively.

If workers are to give their perspiration, leaders must give them inspiration.

Most people need a catalyst before they'll do anything risky.

From the Maxwell Leadership Bible.

Need some laughter...........Thanks to Lew...............

A little girl asked her mother, 'How did the human race appear?'The mother answered, 'God made Adam and Eve and they had children and so was all mankind made.'Two days later the girl asked her father the same question. The father answered, 'Many years ago there were monkeys from which the human race evolved.'The confused girl returned to her mother and said,:
'Mom, how is it possible that you told me the human race was created by God, and Dad said they developed from monkeys?'The mother answered, 'Well, dear, it is very simple. I told you about my side of the family and your father told you about his.'

We need your support on our project for Gospel for Asia. Can you help?

Would you rather get an iPod, a new car or a water buffalo this Christmas?
Believe it or not, there are many people buying water buffalo this year—and changing people's lives in Asia at the same time!

KKIM and Gospel for Asia are partnering to offer you a chance to give hope to a poor Asian family this Christmas through the 2008 Christmas Gift Campaign. You can give them gifts like chickens, sewing machines, goats, BioSand water filters, and yes, even a water buffalo. When a GFA missionary delivers your gift, it helps a poor family make a living, and opens the door for the message of Jesus' transforming love. For the last two years, thousands of families in Asia have found eternal hope as a result of the many generous gifts given through GFA's Christmas Gift Campaign by partners like KKIM. This year, you can be part of reaching out to another family with the Love of God.
You can even give a gift in honor of one of your loved ones! You will be celebrating Christ's birth wit h your brothers and sisters in Asia and spreading the message of Christmas to those who have yet to hear.
May the Lord bless you!

Dear Listeners,

Music warms the heart and especially at this time of the year. Christmas carols and hymns remind us of the birth of Christ. They are so familiar that we often have the words memorized. This week's show is a look at some of the songs of Christmas, finding out about their history and other interesting facts. Jeanne Page with the Celtic group The Next Chapter will be my guest. She will walk us through some of the songs of the season and share interesting facts about their origins and composers. This will be a fun hour of joyful music.

The show airs from 8:05 to 9:00 AM this Saturday December 13 on KKIM-AM1000 or FM94.7 in the Santa Fe /northern NM area. You can hear the show on audio streaming at http://www.mykkim.com/. To call in with your comments or questions, the phone number in Albuquerque is 998-0021 or toll-free at 1-866-523-5008. I'll be talking with you on Saturday!

This one will bring a tear. But it sure makes you appreciate life.

Santa and Sarah

Three years ago, a little boy and his grandmother came to see Santa at the Mayfair Mall in Wisconsin. The child climbed up on his lap, hold ing a picture of a little girl.

"Who is this?" asked Santa, smiling. "Your friend? Your sister?'"

"Yes, Santa,' he replied. "My sister, Sarah, who is very sick," he said sadly.

Santa glanced over at the grandmother who was waiting nearby, and saw her dabbing her eyes with a tissue. "She wanted to come with me to see you, oh, so very much, Santa!" the child exclaimed. "She misses you," he added softly.

Santa tried to be cheerful and encouraged a smile to the boy's face, asking him what he wanted Santa to bring him for Christmas.
& nbsp;
When they finished their visit, the Grandmother came over to help the child off his lap, and started to say something to Santa, but halted.

"What is it?" Santa asked warmly.

"Well, I know it's really too much to ask you, Santa, but.." the old woman began, shooing her grandson over to one of Santa's elves to collect the little gift which Santa gave all his young visitors.
"The girl in the photograph... my granddaughter well, you see ... she has leukemia and isn't expected to make it even through the holidays," she said through tear-filled eyes. "Is there any way, Santa, any possible way that you could come see Sarah? That's all she's asked for, for Christmas, is to see Santa."
Santa blinked and swallowed hard and told the woman to leave information with his elves as to where Sarah was, and he would see what he could do. Santa thought of little else the rest of that afternoon. He knew what he had to do. "What if it were MY child lying in that hospital bed, dying," he thought with a sinking heart, "This is the least I can do."

When Santa finished visiting with all the boys and girls that evening, he retrieved from his helper the name of the hospital where Sarah was staying. He asked the assistant location manager how to get to Children's Hospital..

"Why?" Rick asked, with a puzzled look on his face.

Santa relayed to him the conversation with Sarah's grandmother earlier that day.

"C'mon.....I'll take you there." Rick said softly. Rick drove them to the hospital and came inside with Santa.
They found out which room Sarah was in. A pale Rick said he would wait out in the hall.

Santa quietly peeked into the room through the half-closed door and saw little Sarah on the bed.

The room was full of what appeared to be her family; there was the Grandmother and the girl's brother he had met earlier that day. A woman whom he guessed was Sarah's mother stood by the bed, gently pushing Sarah's thin hair off her forehead. And another woman who he discovered later was Sarah's aunt, sat in a chair near the bed with a weary, sad look on her face. They were talking quietly, and Santa could sense the warmth and closeness of the family, and their love and concern for Sarah.

Taking a deep breath, and forcing a smile on his face, Santa entered the room, bellowing a hearty, "Ho, ho, ho!"

"Santa!" shrieked little Sarah weakly, as she tried to escape her bed to run to him, IV tubes intact.

Santa rushed to her side and gave her a warm hug. A child the tender age of his own son -- 9 years old -- gazed up at him with wonder and excitement. Her skin was pale and her short tresses bore telltale bald patches from the effects of chemotherapy. But all he saw when he looked at her was a pair of huge, blue eyes. His heart melted, and he had to force himself to choke back tears. Though his eyes were riveted upon Sarah's face, he could hear the gasps and quiet sobbing of the women in the room.
< /div>

As he and Sarah began talking, the family crept quietly to the bedside one by one, squeezing Santa's shoulder or his hand gratefully, whispering "Thank you" as they gazed sincerely at him with shining eyes. Santa and Sarah talked and talked, and she told him excitedly all the toys she wanted for Christmas, assuring him she'd been a very good girl that year.

As their time together dwindled, Santa felt led in his spirit to pray for Sarah, and asked for permission from the girl's mother. She nodded in agreement and the entire family circled around Sarah's bed, holding hands. Santa looked intensely at Sarah and asked her if she believed in angels.

"Oh, yes, Santa... I do!" she exclaimed.

"Well, I'm going to ask that angels watch over you." he said. Laying one hand on the child's head, Santa closed his eyes and prayed. He asked that God touch little Sarah, and heal her body from this disease. He asked that angels minister to her, watch and keep her. And when he finished praying, still with eyes closed, he started singing, softly, "Silent Night, Holy Night.... all is calm, all is bright..."

"The family joined in, still holding hands, smiling at Sarah, and crying tears of hope, tears of joy for this moment, as Sarah beamed at them all.

When the song ended, Santa sat on the side of the bed again and held Sarah's frail, small hands in his own. "Now, Sarah," he said authoritatively, "you have a job to do, and that is to concentrate on getting well. I want you to have fun playing with your friends this summer, and I expect to see you at my house at Mayfair Mall this time next year!"

He knew it was risky proclaiming that to this little girl who had terminal cancer, but he "had" to. He had to give her the greatest gift he could -- not dolls or games or toys -- but the gift of HOPE.

"Yes, Santa!" Sarah exclaimed, her eyes bright. He leaned down and kissed her on the forehead and left the room.

Out in the hall, the minute Santa's eyes met Rick's, a look passed between them and they wept unashamed.

Sarah's mother and grandmother slipped out of the room quickly and rushed to Santa's side to thank him .

"My only child is the same age as Sarah," he explained quietly. "This is the least I could do." They nodded with understanding and hugged him.

One year later, Santa Mark was again back on the set in Milwaukee for his six-week, seasonal job which he so loves to do. Several weeks went by and then one day a child came up to sit on his lap.

"Hi, Santa! Remember me?!"

"Of course, I do," Santa proclaimed (as he always does), smiling down at her. After all, the secret to being a "good" Santa is to always make each child feel as if they are the "only" child in the world at that moment.

"You came to see me in the hospital last year!"

Santa's jaw dropped. Tears immediately sprang in his eyes, and he grabbed this little miracle and held her to his chest. "Sarah!" he exclaimed. He scarcely recognized her, for her hair was long and silky and her cheeks were rosy -- much different from the little girl he had visited just a year before. He looked over and saw Sarah's mother and grandmother in the sidelines smiling and waving and wiping their eyes.

That was the best Christmas ever for Santa Claus.

He had witnessed --and been blessed to be instrumental in bringing about -- this miracle of hope. This precious little child was healed. Cancer-free. Alive and well. He silently looked up to Heaven and humbly whispered, "Thank you, Father. 'Tis a very, Merry Christmas!"
May The Peace and Strength of the Lord be with you all,
