NO BIBLE STUDY/NO AMERICAN FLAG KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

First of all please pray for Charlie Hickman in Laporte, Indiana. Charlie has a tumor on one of his lungs and it is growing and he is losing weight. Charlie is a dear friend of KKIM. Charlie and his wife Lavella are wonderful people of God. They have been a mentor of mine for years! They have given much to God's people over their lives. They are one of the main reasons I am here at KKIM today.

Please continue to pray for Corbin Hayes, he is the 13 year old we have been praying for that fell into the Rio Grande river on Thursday. Officials are still searching and praying that they will find him walking on shore disoriented. State Police Lt. Eric Garcia says, "God willing, he got out and is walking the shore disoriented."

Please pray for our new friend Chris. Please pray that he turns his life over the Lord and rid's himself of anger. Chris wants to live a better life.

No Bible Study and Don't fly the American Flag............

The Two most important things in America.........The Bible and the Flag.......for what they stand for.........

Please be in prayer about the following situations. I have to ask myself these days if I still live in the United States, and I am not over reacting. Many of my Pastor friends are right there with me. I had a friend come into my office this past week and ask me if we should just give up! No, my friends, we are to be the salt and light of the world and to occupy until the Lord comes and bring the lost to the Lord. That is our mission.

But get a load of this..........I wish this was fiction.......but it is True.........This is why we need to stay strong in the Lord and stay together as the Family of God.

Here is the Story from World Net Daily......We have been covering this on New Mexico News and Views........Then we have a response from Pastor Mark Scales of Heights Christian Church in Albuquerque.

A San Diego pastor and his wife claim they were interrogated by a county official and warned they will face escalating fines if they continue to hold Bible studies in their home.

The couple, whose names are being withheld until a demand letter can be filed on their behalf, told their attorney a county government employee knocked on their door on Good Friday, asking a litany of questions about their Tuesday night Bible studies, which are attended by approximately 15 people.

"Do you have a regular weekly meeting in your home? Do you sing? Do you say 'amen'?" the official reportedly asked. "Do you say, 'Praise the Lord'?"

The pastor's wife answered yes.

She says she was then told, however, that she must stop holding "religious assemblies" until she and her husband obtain a Major Use Permit from the county, a permit that often involves traffic and environmental studies, compliance with parking and sidewalk regulations and costs that top tens of thousands of dollars.

And if they fail to pay for the MUP, the county official reportedly warned, the couple will be charged escalating fines beginning at $100, then $200, $500, $1000, "and then it will get ugly."

Remind the world who's really in charge with the "Worship GOD, not GOV" magnetic bumper sticker from WND.

Dean Broyles of the Western Center for Law & Policy, which has been retained to represent the couple, told WND the county's action not only violates religious land-use laws but also assaults both the First Amendment's freedom of assembly and freedom of religion.

"The First Amendment, in part, reads, 'Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,'" Broyles said. "And that's the key part: 'prohibiting the free exercise.' We believe this is a substantial government burden on the free exercise of religion."

He continued, "If one's home is one's castle, certainly you would the think the free exercise of religion, of all places, could occur in the home."

(Story continues below)

Broyles confirmed the county official followed through on his threat. The pastor and his wife received a written warning ordering the couple to "cease/stop religious assembly on parcel or obtain a major use permit."

"The Western Center for Law and Policy is troubled by this draconian move to suppress home Bible studies," said the law center in a statement. "If the current trends in our nation continue, churches may be forced underground. If that happens, believers will once again be forced to meet in homes. If homes are already closed by the government to assembly and worship, where then will Christians meet?"

On a personal note, Broyles added, "I've been leading Bible studies in my home for 13 years in San Diego County, and I personally believe that home fellowship Bible studies are the past and future of the church. … If you look at China, the church grew from home Bible studies. I'm deeply concerned that if in the U.S. we are not able to meet in our homes and freely practice our religion, then we may be worse off than China."

Broyles also explained to WND that oppressive governments, such as communist China or Nazi Germany, worked to repress home fellowships, labeling them the "underground church" or "subversive groups," legally compelling Christians to meet only in sanctioned, government-controlled "official" churches.

"Therein lies my concern," Broyles said. "If people can't practice their religious beliefs in the privacy of their own homes with a few of their friends, that's an egregious First Amendment violation."

WND contacted a spokeswoman for San Diego County, who acknowledged the description of the incident seemed "bizarre," but who was unable to locate the details of the account. She simply could not provide comment yet, she said, until she could become familiar with the case.

Broyles said the WCLP is nearly ready to file a demand letter with the county to release the pastor and his wife from the requirement to obtain the expensive permit. If the county refuses, Broyles said, the WCLP will consider a lawsuit in federal court.

Broyles also told WND the pastor and his wife are continuing to hold the Bible study in their home.

Here is Pastor Mark Scales Response............
I found this news article on line this week after a friend e-mailed me.
SAN DIEGO -- A local pastor and his wife claim they were interrogated by a San Diego County official, who then threatened them with escalating fines if they continued to hold Bible studies in their home, 10News reported.
Attorney Dean Broyles of The Western Center For Law & Policy was shocked with what happened to the pastor and his wife.
Broyles said, "The county asked, 'Do you have a regular meeting in your home?' She said, 'Yes.' 'Do you say amen?' 'Yes.' 'Do you pray?' 'Yes.' 'Do you say praise the Lord?' 'Yes.'"
The county employee notified the couple that the small Bible study, with an average of 15 people attending, was in violation of County regulations, according to Broyles.
Broyles said a few days later the couple received a written warning that listed "unlawful use of land" and told them to "stop religious assembly or apply for a major use permit" -- a process that could cost tens of thousands of dollars. "For churches and religious assemblies there's big parking concerns, there's environmental impact concerns when you have hundreds or thousands of people gathering. But this is a different situation, and we believe that the application of the religious assembly principles to this Bible study is certainly misplaced," said Broyles.
News of the case has rapidly spread across Internet blogs and has spurred various reactions.
Did you get the part that it is unlawful to have a religious assembly at your house (currently in CA)? This is happening in America. Can you believe it? Actually, I can. I’ve talked about persecution coming on the American church many times at the pulpit. It seems to be coming quick. The question doesn’t seem to be if persecution will occur on Christians in the U.S., but when. For the couple in San Diego County the answer is now.
I know what many of you are thinking, “Pastor Mark, you are over-reacting!! Its probably just a parking issue in the neighborhood.” But, my brothers and sisters, that is where it begins. Let me ask you a question. What would you do in this situation? Would you give up meeting together to study the Bible? I think for many of you the answer would be “no.” Nothing would stop you from meeting to study the Bible together with your church family.
However, how many of you use the excuse that Summer is a time to stop with your Life Groups because it’s a vacation time or transition time? In my book it’s the same thing. You may not be forced to stop meeting but you are stopping because it’s a little inconvenient. I say don’t let it be so. Hebrews 10:23-25 says,
"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
As we see the Day approaching, the return of Christ and the approaching of persecution, let us not forsake meeting together.

Here is an update from World Net Daily..........

Code enforcement officials in San Diego who banned a pastor and his wife from holding Bible studies in their home or face fines have taken less than 24 hours to respond to a demand letter from a legal team representing the couple in what could be a major First Amendment dispute.

And now they have a deadline to withdraw statements that lawyers believe already have created an irreparable violation of the First Amendment.

Dean Broyles, the chief of the Western Center for Law & Policy, told WND today the letter was dispatched to Pam Elias, chief of the land use division for the county of San Diego, on Tuesday, and a meeting was held among the parties yesterday.

(Story continues below)

The letter demanded the county "agree in writing to rescind Administrative Citation #DPLU-40576 and the accompanying Cease and Desist Order" that told Pastor David and Mary Jones they would be fined and penalized "if they continue to hold their weekly Bible study in their home."

The letter from Broyles said the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that the loss of First Amendment freedoms, "even for minimal periods of time, unquestionably constitutes irreparable harm."

And it provided a deadline for the county to respond.

"As a result, time is of the essence, and both the Joneses and the WCLP respectfully demand that written confirmation of the county's agreement to permit the Joneses to continue holding their regularly scheduled Bible study in their home without further threat of sanction be provided within five business days of the date of this letter. Should the county fail or refuse to comply, the Joneses are prepared to pursue all available legal remedies, including litigation."

Last week, WND broke the story about the case that apparently was sparked by a complaint from a visitor to a residence of one of the Joneses' neighbors.

The sequence of events developed this way.

"On April 10, 2009, Good Friday, a female county employee came to the Joneses' residence. The county employee appeared in the front yard and proceeded to take pictures of our clients' home," the letter said. "She noticed the Joneses' daughters in the front yard and asked to speak with their mother. Although she did not provide any paper work or identification, subsequent information obtained by the WCLP leads us to believe that the county employee who went to the Joneses' residence was Code Enforcement Officer Cherie Cham."

If they fail to pay for the MUP, the county official reportedly warned, the couple would be charged escalating fines beginning at $100, then $200, $500, $1000, "and then it will get ugly."

Remind the world who's really in charge with the "Worship GOD, not GOV" magnetic bumper sticker from WND.

"Four things become clear when this case is legally analyzed," said the letter. "First, the Joneses' weekly Bible study is not a 'religious assembly' as defined by the county's ordinances rendering the requirement of an MUP inapplicable. Second, the county's order to stop hosting the weekly Bible study is a blatant violation of the Joneses' First Amendment right to freely exercise their religion.

"Third, the order also violates their First Amendment right to peaceably assemble. Fourth, the county's action is a substantial burden on the Joneses' ability to practice their religion in violation of the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act of 2000," the letter said.

Elias did not return a telephone message from WND asking for comment.

But Broyles said the result of yesterday's meeting was an agreement that the status quo would be preserved while the dispute is resolved – meaning there will be no fines or other citations for the family from the county.

"They acknowledged all the publicity the case was getting. That's part of the reason they met with us so quickly," he said.

He also said the county appeared to be "backing off" the religious assembly angle in favor of considering "other issues," such as parking, to apply in the case.

"Our concern with that is that they're trying to change the aspects of the case," he said. "They want to back out gracefully."

Instead, Broyles said, the citations should be withdrawn and the county should apologize.

"They were targeting our clients' religious exercise," he said.

A forum page for the local Channel 10 television station featured a number of comments in support of the couple after it reported on the initial controversy.

"This is absolutely disturbing – and if true (I have no reason to doubt that it is), then the line of questioning reported in the victim's testimony as conducted by this official was completely wrong, unconstitutional, and a clear violation of the public's trust," said one contributor. "Our government is not the thought police – that official had no business whatsoever asking those questions, and it deeply concerns me to see such a line of questioning be even tolerated to exist as a matter of public perception without the leadership of SD County issuing a public apology and making their role in this matter very clear: this regulation does not apply to this home bible study – nor any other private home gathering for that matter."

The letter said a group that averages about 15 in attendance clearly does not involve a "religious assembly."

The county definition for that is "public assembly such as customarily occurs in synagogues, temples, and churches."

"These facts along are sufficient to render (the citation) invalid," the letter said.

But it said the issue also involves the First Amendment.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…" the letter quoted from the First Amendment.

The citation and cease and desist order "were directed solely towards the Joneses' religious activity," the letter said. "Specifically, the Joneses were not asked to stop hosting any kind of assembly generally, they were ordered to stop 'religious assembly.' Indeed, if the county was not targeting religious activity per se, it would presumably have to forbid any and all secular events where friends and neighbors are invited to a resident's home on a regular basis, including, but not limited to in-home poker games, book club meetings, Monday night football parties, girl and boy scout meetings, Tupperware parties, Bunco nights, bridge clubs, etc."

Broyles earlier told WND that oppressive governments, such as communist China or Nazi Germany, worked to repress home fellowships, labeling them the "underground church" or "subversive groups," legally compelling Christians to meet only in sanctioned, government-controlled "official" churches.

"Therein lies my concern," Broyles said. "If people can't practice their religious beliefs in the privacy of their own homes with a few of their friends, that's an egregious First Amendment violation."

Okay now this one really made me feel like I do not live in the United States of America............TAKE DOWN THAT FLAG!!!!! WHAT???? IT'S OFFENSIVE!!!!!! WOW!!!

Debbie McLucas, seen here at home in Arlington, Texas, has been invited by her supervisor to display the flag in her office.

Debbie McLucas comes from a patriotic family – her husband and both of her sons served in the U.S. military, and her daughter is currently deployed to Iraq on her second tour of duty as a combat medic.

So when McLucas arrived at work at a Texas hospital last Friday, she was stunned to be told that the Stars and Stripes she had hung in her office in advance of Memorial Day were offensive, and that the flag had been removed.

“I got into work, I was met by my supervisor and told that there had been multiple complaints, that people found the flag very offensive and it had been taken down," McLucas told FOXNews.com.

"I went to the office to retrieve it and found the flag wrapped around the pole, sitting in the corner on the ground. I was speechless."

McLucas, a supervisor at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield, Texas, had displayed the 3-by-5-foot flag in the office she shares with the hospital’s three other supervisors. McLucas said one of her colleagues, a woman who immigrated to the United States from Africa 14 years ago, complained about the flag to upper management, and the hospital decided to take down the flag.

"I was told that as long as my flag offended one person, it would be taken down," McLucas said.

She said the hospital told her that the American flag flying outside the building would have to suffice. "I was told, ‘There is a flag hanging out front, everyone can see that one. Is that not enough?’"

No, she said, that wasn't enough.

"It is more than I can even fathom, that you would find the American flag offensive, in America," McLucas said.

A Kindred Healthcare spokeswoman did not return calls for comment. Kindred issued a press release stating, “Kindred Hospital Mansfield has a great deal of appreciation for the service that many of our employees and their families have given to their country. We honor our veterans and active military through a variety of benefits and service programs. This was an isolated incident between two employees that we are working to resolve amicably.”

The statement went on to explain: “The disagreement was over the size of the flag and not what it symbolized. We have invited the employee to put the flag back up.”

And it will go back up and stay up, McLucas said.

"I do think they're trying to do the right thing. I have no reason to believe the flag won't remain there as long as I'm employed."

That's the United States will live in..........Watch your Bible Study groups and watch how you fly the flag! WOW! Be strong in the Lord!

Let us Pray................

Lord, let us remain strong in You.........Let us be bold in our faith.........let us continue to have the faith to preach the good news. Let us not be afraid.......Let us see the World for what it is........Let us keep our eyes on You and not give up.......In the name of Jesus, AMEN!

In the Love of Christ, Dewey Sharon and family

Dear KKIM Family,

Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed. Prov. 16:3

We here at KKIM and the Cup are here to serve the Lord and His people. We are here for you 24/7.

Please pray for 13 year old Corbin Hayes
We broke this story last night on New Mexico News and Views..........

Teams from at least eight law enforcement agencies, who scoured a 15-mile stretch of the Rio Grande Thursday for a 13-year-old Rio Rancho boy who was swept away around 2:45 a.m. before it got too dark to continue, were resuming their search this morning.
Corbin Hayes was last seen by his brother when he was swept up by the current and pulled downstream near the River's Edge III subdivision.
His friends tried to rescue him but were unsuccessful and last saw him go around a bend in the river before going back to the boy's home to call 911.
There was about a 45-minute delay between the time the boy was last seen and the 911 call.
The search continued into the evening with teams from the Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Corrales police departments, the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office and fire departments from Bernalillo County, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Corrales.
Two Hovercrafts, two helicopters, an airboat took part in the search, and divers, firefighters and deputies were stationed at every bridge south to Central Avenue as well as along the bosque. State Police took over the search last night.
Bernalillo County Fire Department officials say, today's search is expected to be a "body recovery effort,"

Last night Albuquerque Police Spokesmen John Walsh was with us on New Mexico News and Views. John asked us all to pray for the men and women of the Police Dept. They have been under extreme stress with the death of Baby Boy Angel and the women buried in the West Mesa. We thank God for John, he is a man of faith and speaks right from the heart. I broke down in tears as John talked.........I said, "John, If this doesn't make us cry what will?" Have we forgotten how to shed tears?" John and I talked about some people blaming the Police for the death of Baby Boy Angel because an Officer did not detain the Mother when she was at a Police Sub-Station 7 hours before the death of Baby Boy Angel. The Officer could not find a warrant for her arrest and made suggestions as to where the Mom could get help and also saw that baby Boy Angel looked in good shape. We talked about people not assuming Self Responsibility, that seems to be dying off in our Country. Many want to blame others. The Albuquerque Police Chaplin's have been very busy also, please keep them in your prayers.

Please tell your friends about New Mexico News and Views weekdays at 4:30 to 5:30. The ONLY full hour of news and information on the radio in New Mexico. We look at the news thru a Biblical Lens, PRAISE GOD! PRAISE GOD for this opportunity to represent HIM!

This report made my cry..........

With this following report........we need to pray, we are losing our children and our adults to drugs.

We are living in a time when we have hero's for our society like drug abusers, Baseball 's Alex Rodriguez, Barry Bonds, Manny Ramirez, and many more pro sports players, so called modern day heroes. Let's call it like it is folks! A wise man told me once that what is happening in baseball is a reflection as to what is taking place in society, WOW! How right he is! Baseball is a tarnished game.......just like our society is tarnished. We have handed over a huge portion of our society to drugs.

Please read this story that may shock you, like it shocked me, I had no idea that drug abuse was so rampant in our Country.........Then read Radio Legend Paul Harvey's "If I were the Devil"....................
NEW YORK - The Mexican drug cartels battling viciously to expand and survive have a powerful financial incentive: Across the border to the north is a market for illegal drugs unsurpassed for its wealth, diversity and voraciousness.

Homeless heroin addicts in big cities, "meth heads' in Midwest trailer parks, pop culture and sports stars, teens smoking marijuana with their Baby Boomer parents in Vermont — in all, 46 percent of Americans 12 and older have indulged in the often destructive national pastime of illicit drug use.

This array of consumers is providing a vast, recession-proof, apparently unending market for the Mexican gangs locked in a drug war that has killed more than 10,780 people since December 2006. No matter how much law enforcement or financial help the U.S. government provides Mexico, the basics of supply and demand prevent it from doing much good.

"The damage done by our insatiable demand for drugs is truly astounding," said Lloyd Johnston, a University of Michigan researcher who oversees annual drug-use surveys.

The latest federal figures show that 114 million Americans have used illegal drugs at some point — and 20 million are current users.

Marijuana is by far the No. 1 drug, sampled by 100 million Americans, including nearly half of high school seniors. But more than 35 million Americans have used cocaine at some point and 34 million have taken LSD or other hallucinogens.

"It's a drug dealer's dream — sell it in a place where he can make the most money for the risk taken," said Dr. H. Westley Clark, director of the federal Center for Substance Abuse Treatment.

"There's a tremendous amount of denial until you're face to face with it," Clark added. "A substance abuser can be anybody. Everybody is at risk."

The Mexican cartels are eager to feed this ravenous appetite. Once used mostly to transship drugs from South America, Mexico is now a major producer and distributor; its gangs control cocaine networks in many U.S. cities and covertly grow marijuana on U.S. public lands.

For now, the Mexican government is fighting the cartels and working with U.S. authorities who have promised to stop the southbound flow of weapons and cash — but all parties are aware of the role played by the U.S. market.

"When the U.S. government turns up the pressure a lot, then is when you see a return to the old formula of saying (to Americans), 'You also have corruption, you consume the drugs, you're the biggest drug consumer in the world,'" said Jose Luis Pineyro, a sociologist at Mexico's Autonomous Metropolitan University.

Gil Kerlikowske, a former Seattle police chief recently appointed by President Barack Obama as the U.S. drug czar, said the Mexicans "make an excellent point."

"Our drug abuse causes problems elsewhere — our per capita consumption is very high," said Kerlikowske, who argues that reducing demand through education and treatment is as vital as border interdictions in quelling Mexico's drug violence.

If I were the Devil.............

By Paul Harvey

I would gain control of the most powerful nation in the world;
I would delude their minds into thinking that they had come from man's effort, instead of God's blessings;
I would promote an attitude of loving things and using people, instead of the other way around;
I would dupe entire states into relying on gambling for their state revenue;
I would convince people that character is not an issue when it comes to leadership;
I would make it legal to take the life of unborn babies;
I would make it socially acceptable to take one's own life, and invent machines to make it convenient;
I would cheapen human life as much as possible so that the life of animals are valued more than human beings;
I would take God out of the schools, where even the mention of His name was grounds for a lawsuit;
I would come up with drugs that sedate the mind and target the young, and I would get sports heroes to advertise them;
I would get control of the media, so that every night I could pollute the mind of every family member for my agenda;
I would attack the family, the backbone of any nation.
I would make divorce acceptable and easy, even fashionable. If the family crumbles, so does the nation;
I would compel people to express their most depraved fantasies on canvas and movie screens, and I would call it art;
I would convince the world that people are born homosexuals, and that their lifestyles should be accepted and marveled;
I would convince the people that right and wrong are determined by a few who call themselves authorities and refer to their agenda as politically correct;
I would persuade people that the church is irrelevant and out of date, and the Bible is for the naive;
I would dull the minds of Christians, and make them believe that prayer is not important, and that faithfulness and obedience are optional;
I guess I would leave things pretty much the way they are.

Quite a statement by Paul Harvey!!

Let us weep for our nation..........Let us pray that we will be bold enough to continue to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. I was asked by a KKIM listener, "Dewey should we just give up?" No we should not, we are to be the salt and light of the world and to occupy the land until the Lord comes. We are to spread the word Of Jesus Christ and help bring others to HIM. This friend is a wonderful Christian, but like many is getting wore down from what is going on in our country. Let us keep strong in our Lord together.

Let us check the mailbag...........

Subject: What a Duck Story from Shona Neff heard Saturdays on KKIM at 7:30am!

A True Duck Story from San Antonio , Texas
Something really cute happened in downtown San Antonio this week. Michael R. is an accounting clerk at Frost Bank and works there in a second story office. Several weeks ago, he watched a mother duck choose the concrete awning outside his window as the unlikely place to build a nest above the sidewalk. The mallard laid ten eggs in a nest in the corner of the planter that is perched over 10 feet in the air. She dutifully kept the eggs warm for weeks, and Monday afternoon all of her ten ducklings hatched.

Michael worried all night how the momma duck was going to get those babies safely off their perch in a busy, downtown, urban environment to take to water, which typically happens in the first 48 hours of a duck hatching. Tuesday morning, Michael watched the mother duck encourage her babies to the edge of the perch with the intent to show them how to jump off. Office work came to a standstill as everyone gathered to watch.

The mother flew down below and started quacking to her babies above. In disbelief Michael watched as the first fuzzy newborn trustingly toddled to the edge and astonishingly leapt into thin air, crashing onto the cement below. Michael couldn't stand to watch this risky effort nine more times! He dashed out of his office and ran down the stairs to the sidewalk where the first obedient duckling, near its mother, was resting in a stupor after the near-fatal fall. Michael stood out of sight under the awning-planter, ready to help.

As the second one took the plunge, Michael jumped forward and caught it with his bare hands before it hit the concrete. Safe and sound, he set it down it by its momma and the other stunned sibling, still recovering from that painful leap. (The momma must have sensed that Michael was trying to help her babies.)

One by one the babies continued to jump. Each time Michael hid under the awning just to reach out in the nick of time as the duckling made its free fall. At the scene the busy downtown sidewalk traffic came to a standstill. Time after time, Michael was able to catch the remaining eight and set them by their approving mother.

At this point Michael realized the duck family had only made part of its dangerous journey. They had two full blocks to walk across traffic, crosswalks, curbs and past pedestrians to get to the closest open water, the San Antonio River , site of the famed "River Walk." The on looking office secretaries and several San Antonio police officers joined in. An empty copy-paper box was brought to collect the babies. They carefully corralled them, with the mother's approval, and loaded them in the container. Michael held the box low enough for the mom to see her brood. He then slowly navigated through the downtown streets toward the San Antonio River . The mother waddled behind and kept her babies in sight, all the way.

As they reached the river, the mother took over and passed him, jumping in the river and quacking loudly. At the water's edge, Michael tipped the box and helped shepherd the babies toward the water and to the waiting mother after their adventurous ride.

All ten darling ducklings safely made it into the water and paddled up snugly to momma. Michael said the mom swam in circles, looking back toward the beaming bank bookkeeper, and proudly quacking.

At last, all present and accounted for: "We're all together again. We're here! We're here!"

And here's a family portrait before they head outward to further adventures...

Like all of us in the big times of our life, they never could have made it alone without lots of helping hands. I think it gives the name of San Antonio 's famous "River Walk" a whole new meaning! Maybe you will want to share this story with others. Doctor York told me she had forwarded it to 20 people. It's too good to lose!

AWESOME! Thanks to Shona Neff! Listen for Shona every Saturday at 7:30am on KKIM!

Scripture to meditate on...read it again and again...

Jesus is greater than Moses
Hebrews 3

"...fix your thoughts on Jesus...

For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. Moses was faithful as a servant in all God's house, testifying to what would be said in the future.

But Christ is faithful as a son over God's house. And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast."

"A man's mind plan's his way, but the LORD directs his steps and makes them sure"...Proverbs 16:9

We are getting such good feed back on Dr. deb and what she is doing for God's people...........

Dear Listeners,

As Christian parents of teens and young adults, we often wonder how we can s impact their lives in such a way as to ensure that they stay focused on a life with Christ. Mark Scales, pastor of Family Ministry, Missions, and Outreach at Heights Christian Church will join me today to talk about the power of missions work for teens. Pastor Mark worked at Hope Christian School teaching and mentoring young people every day. In his work now, he takes young people on mission trips to Central and South America where they develop on-going relationships with communities in that part of the world. Pastor Mark will talk about the impact of these trips on the faith life of young people and will talk in general about how parents can help their children stay focused on their faith as they are challenged by the world culture.

Quick Cup with Dewey KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

Was up way early preparing YOUR CUP for Friday! It is brewing! WOW! Stay tuned! PRAISE GOD!!!

Paul Harvey will be with us tomorrow!

It is such an AWESOME BLESSING to be with you today!!!

Remember, of the whole process making a decision is just 5%..........95% of the process is STICKING WITH THE DESCISION.

So when we say we commit our lives to Jesus Christ, that is the easy part! When we say we are Christian, that is the easy part! When we say we go to Church, that is the easy part! When we say we are praying, that is the easy part!

What we do with the 95% is the most important!!! Our we living our lives for HIM? Have we turned our life over to HIM? Have we given up our self will? have we let go?

What a wonderful world it would be if we all would let go of that self will!!! And give it to our Lord!

We just need to experience more of HIM. Let us make that our prayer for the next few days:

Jesus, let YOUR presence dwell powerfully in me, in my family, and in my work. Manifest Yourself in every area of my life. In the Name of Jesus, AMEN!

Your other prayer requests will be answered powerfully in that one prayer!!!!

All HIS glory and beauty comes from within, and there HE delights to dwell. Thomas A Kempis AWESOME!!! Read that again, HE delights to dwell!!!!!!!

Men always ought to pray and not lose heart. Luke 18:1

Lord willing we will have a full cup for you tomorrow!

GOOD NEWS GOOD NEWS!!!!!

The Evans Family sure has owned the Spelling Bee Championship! It is so wonderful to report GOOD NEWS on our Youth! Helen Evans has this report from Washington D.C. as her daughter, Hannah, prepares for the Spelling Bee.........

Hi everyone,

We can hardly believe that we're back at the National Spelling Bee again, this time with Hannah as the NM champion! We arrived on Saturday, went over to some D.C. friends' house for brunch on Sunday and then to the barbeque yesterday afternoon. Before the picnic yesterday, Hannah was asked to film a bio segment for ESPN. She had a great time and we're just hoping she'll make it to those rounds on Thursday so her bio will air. : )

Today, we're doing last minute studying before Hannah takes the written test at 3:30pm. After the written test, she has another filming with ABC down in the Hyatt lobby. A producer called us this morning and wants to film Matthew handing off the "spelling suitcase" to Hannah. Last year, ABC filmed Matthew coming into the hotel with his suitcase full of spelling binders and study resources. They found out that we brought it again this year and want to film the two of them with the suitcase full of words! Should be fun! After the filming, Hannah has an interview scheduled with the Washington correspondent for the Albuquerque Journal, so another article should be in the paper soon. Another speller's dad just told me that Matthew & Hannah are in an AP article that just hit the newswire this morning. Here is a link to it: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5jrKePt9HewG3p4rMHFc2Frjmf6qQD98DHSLG1

Below is the schedule for the television coverage of the next few days. We know it's a long shot for Hannah to make the ESPN rounds on Thursday, but we also know that anything is possible with God. : ) We really appreciate everyone's prayers as she competes - especially for the written test this afternoon - it's very tough! There are two oral rounds tomorrow and the second one, round three, will be broadcast live on the internet on ESPN360.com. At about 6:30pm Wednesday evening, they will announce the top 50 scorers that will advance to the ESPN rounds on Thursday. IF Hannah makes it, I'll try to send out another quick note to everyone.

Thanks for eveyone's well wishes and support. It means a lot to all of us!

Hannah took the written test this afternoon and is unsure how well she did. It's always really tough, but whether you advance depends on that score as well as the two oral rounds tomorrow. We're hoping for the best, but realize that there's a good chance she won't make the top 50. Please be praying for her tomorrow as she tackles her words in the two oral rounds. It would be great if she could at least get those two words correct! : ) We'll keep you posted!

Thanks so much,

Randy & Helen

Please keep Hannah and the Evans family in your prayers!

Last Week in May Cup KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

I am so very thankful for my wife Sharon. In getting away this weekend, I realized we need to do that more often. My prayer is that you got to spend time with family and honor those who have given their life for our Country and those who still serve. Did you fly the flag?

To start off this new wonderful week in the Lord, let me share this with you........it is a devotional from Chris Tiegreen. Please read it slowly and read it again and pray over it....such words of wisdom.
From Self to God

The world and its desires pass away, but the

man who does the will of God lives forever.

1 JOHN 2:17

In Word
A consistent theme of the New Testament is that we have been bought. Paul tells it to the Corinthians twice, in two different contexts (1 Corinthians 6:20 and 7:23). Paul calls himself a servant, a bondservant or a slave of Christ in nearly every epistle that he wrote. Both Peter and Paul tell us that the church and individual believers are a possession of God (Titus 2:14 and 1 Peter 2:9). Regardless of whether the context is personal freedom, sexual morality, life in the fellowship of believers, or anything else, we are not our own. We belong to Another.

When that really sinks into a believer’s heart, it is a profound revelation. A living sacrifice---in other words, a true worshiper---does not claim his own rights. He does not complain about slights and grievances, because he knows that his Master has ordained them and may even be using them for marvelous purposes. He bypasses the world and its desires. He throws his own personal agenda in the trash, no matter how many goals and dreams and preferences are on it. He does not make out his own schedule, he does not consider any possession his own, he does not make decisions from human reasoning, and he does not maintain any self-interest in his relationships with other people. He disregards the cultural warnings that too much selflessness is unhealthy, because his health is not the issue. God alone is the issue. His will, His character, his plans, and His providence are paramount.

In Deed
We know better than to assume any of us have lived up to that ideal. But it’s still the goal, isn’t it? A heart that truly worships another is a heart that has completely abandoned itself.

Most of the stresses of life come from threats to our self-interest. But if we have no self-interest, where is the stress? The heart that has abandoned itself to God is at rest. It has learned to love the eternal over the world. It lives in peace forever.

Self is the opaque veil that hides the face of God from us.

--A. W. Tozer

Dear Friends, Let us not hide from God, but give our lives everyday to Him. Let us each day let go of ourselves and "let in" the Will of God for us. Sharon and I got away this weekend to Chama and had a wonderful stay at the RiverBend Lodge and a fantastic meal at High Country. Shea has the best steaks!

We got back on Monday and out our display of American Flags in honor of those who have given their life for our Country and for those serving now. Did you fly the flag?

That is about all I have for us this morning, I am trying to learn to shut off my radio world when we go away....I am learning that I have to get away and also Sharon deserves time away from the radio world, as she sacrifices much with my work hours. I am going to try to be a better husband to Sharon and take the weekends off from emails and phone calls. That is hard for me as I love to be of service to all. So please if I do not respond to your call or email on the weekends, please understand. This weekend went by to fast for us. Does this fit what I am talking about or what?

Martin Luther said, "Not now, becomes NEVER!

or

Delay is the deadliest form of denial.

Sen. Dan Coats of Indiana said, "Habit is the daily battle ground of Character."

Those who wait upon the Lord shall mount up on wings as eagles..... Isaiah 40:31

Thanks for sharing Dave.......Thank you for your prayers for Sharon and I.Our prayers were answered for a safe trip. Lars and his friends attended the concert in Denver and will leave for home today around noon. Please keep him in your prayers.

It made me sad yesterday when I was watching Baseball on ESPN......they honored our Military but called their salute, One Nation,One people or something like that..maybe it was One Nation One Purpose.......Do you remember? All I know is that I wish it had been, One Nation under God.........But baseball has chased God out like many have and it has been struck by steroids. How sad is that!!! Baseball looks up to players like Alex Rodriguez and his performance was drug induced! But yet baseball acts like nothing and hides. All players who cheated should be thrown out! Look at the players like Hall-0f-Famer's Ted Williams, Bob Feller who fought for our Country in WWII, the real heroes of Baseball.......unlike a lot of the players today who are so out of touch with reality! If Shoeless Joe Jackson remains banned from the Hall-Of-Fame because he could not read and supposedly took part in the Black Sox Scandal.......players like A-ROD, Barry Bonds should also be banned. One more thing.baseball, (Many of you know I have been a die-hard Baseball fan all my life, so it is hard to write this!) Yesterday as ESPN branded itself as All-American, family, Baseball, etc.....it ran spots for raunchy tv shows! End of rant! I pray that not only Baseball, but Football and all professional Sports clean up their act. So many of our young people get their model of life from pro sports.

Let us pray...........

Dear Lord, Thank you for all those who have served lour Country and are serving now. May we remember them always and not just on Memorial Day. In the name of Jesus, AMEN!

MEMORIAL DAY CUP KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

This Weekend we remember all those who have died serving our Country. Back home my Dad, A World War II Vet, Marine SGT, would also put flowers on all the graves of the Fireman who had passed away. After my Dad returned from the War he became a Fireman in Windom, Minn. my hometown. We also would put flowers on the graves of loved ones who had gone home to be with the Lord. My family still does that to this day. It is a wonderful tradition of love and respect. I also remember Roger Carey of Windom who worked for my Dad at the School and in 1966 Roger enlisted in the Vietnam War as a U.S. Marine (A Marine like my Dad) and was killed in action just 6 months into his enlistment. Roger used to give me rides on his little red Honda motorcycle. Let us remember all the Roger's this weekend. Roger did what many have, serve our Country in Honor and Death.

KKIM Remembers Our Heroes

KKIM and Lisa A. Torraco present, Jerry Stewart's, "The Great Price Paid", A Memorial Day salute to all those who have given their life for our Country. Saturday and Sunday at 7pm. Memorial Day 4:30pm and 8pm. This one hour Memorial Day Radio Special will include interviews with those who are serving our Country in Iraq and those who served in WW II.
KKIM Thanks Ministry Partner Lisa A. Torraco Attorney at Law for helping bring YOU this Memorial Day Program.

Here is a Special Memorial Day Message from Pastor Leonard Navarre Of Valley View Christian Church in Edgewood, NM

Memorial Day is Monday. In Hebrews 11 and verse 4 we read about Abel. It says by faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain” and as the verse concludes it says, “and through faith though he is dead he still speaks.”

As I looked at the brick among many bricks in this World War II memorial the name on the brick would not mean much to you. Under the name were these words…Pacific, Okinawa and China. But this brick means a lot to me. For you see the name on the brick is my Dad’s. John W. Navarre. He served during World War II. He died 7 years ago. When I stand and look at this memorial brick…I remember.

Here’s a poem from a man named John Lyttle on this Memorial Day weekend to encourage us TO NEVER FORGET BUT TO REMEMBER:

Stand by my grave and remember
Come, stand by my grave and weep
Hang your head low but lift up your cry
Unfurl the banner let the flags fly
And never forget the life that I gave
Today is the day to stand by my grave…and remember

Stand by my grave and remember
Come, stand by my grave and weep
However, whenever, wherever I died
Why, how much or whoever has cried
Just never forget the life that I gave
For the land of the free and the home of the brave
Today is the day to stand by my grave…and remember

Stand by my grave and remember
Come stand by my grave and weep
Just think of the things I have missed through the years
I felt none of the joy and shed none of the tears
So never forget the life that I gave
For the land of the free and the home of the brave
Unfurl the flag, long may it wave
Today is the day to stand by my grave…and remember

Stand by my grave and remember
Come, stand by my grave and weep
Remember, my troubles and trials are through
Weep but the weeping is really for you
Still never forget the life that I gave
For land of the free and the home of the brave
Unfurl the flag, long may it wave
O’er the country I died to protect and save
Today is the day to stand by my grave…and remember

Most of us live and labor under the delusion that hardly anyone cares what we do…and that nobody will care when we are gone.

This is not true…the first person to ever experience physical death upon this planet according to Hebrews 11:4…still speaks. And as I look at the brick that bears the name of my Dad…I REMEMBER

The mailbag..............

Dear Dewey,

In these Scripture verses...
John 15:5-6 I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me will be thrown out like a branch and wither; people will gather them and throw them into a fire and they will be burned.
...how does one "remains in me and I in him"?

In Christ,
John Reynolds

John, Thanks for the question........what a blessing! After we got your question, I prayed and the Lord said to start inviting people to send in their questions and we will have our Pastor Friends answer them! here you go John this is from Pastor Leonard Navarre.........

Dewey,

The key to understanding the question that John is asking is found in the entire passage from John 14 and 15. In fact, the discourse starts in John 14 where Jesus says, "
Joh 14:23

Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.
Joh 14:24

"He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father's who sent Me.
Joh 14:25

"These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you.
Dewey, It was Jesus' presence with them that spoke of His abiding with them. It is our presence with HIM that keeps us abiding in Him. How do we that? By accepting Him as our Lord and Savior and allowing Him to give unto us His Holy Spirit which was promised by our Lord Jesus.

Joh 14:26

"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said."
We also abide in Him by keeping His commandments. So you see we abide in Him by obeying His word and He abides in us through His Holy Spirit and by allowing His words to dwell, be present, remain in us.

Joh 15:10

"If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
So, Dewey, the answer to John's question is: we abide in Him by keeping His teaching and commandments. He abides in us through His Word and through His Spirit. Reading the discourse from John 14:1 through 15:27 helps us understand this abiding.

I hope and pray that this has been helpful.

God bless, I am praying for you, Sharon, and the KKIM family,

Leonard

Now Sam has been reading her Bible.......Is this not wonderful!!! We would love to hear from you!
What a wonderful day Dewey. Starting off with wonderful scriptures from the Cup.

I've been reading 1Timothy 2: 1, EXHORT therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men. 2. For kings, and for all that are in authority: that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

But after reading that scripture I wondered why the EXHORT was in Capital letters. So being the curious person I am, I looked up the word, Exhort. "To request earnestly".
And was blessed again. It is soo wonderful to have living words at our finger tips. There for the blessings. All we have to do is pick up the bible. Just as we did when we first saw the light. All we had to do was ask. sam

And what a Biblical pattern we have going here........

Dear Dewey,

I was listening to Charles Stanley the other morning on KKIM and he recommended reading all 6 verses in Psalm 1 every day for 7 days...Reading and meditating over them twice a day for 7 days.
He challenged us to read Psalm 1 like this to change our life and even to take notes as we study it.

I took him up on it! And plan on continuing as he encouraged even beyond the 7 days for a full 21 days. He said, "I don't know why 21 days," but I recommended this life changing commitment to read 6 little verses...

At first, I read it as I already knew what I was reading...common sense in God, with no specific rules, but within the 2nd day, I began to see something deeper;
a deeper understanding of how to continue to live in God's peace.

Things come up every day that challenge our emotions and by meditating on God's Word every day, it is like keeping it fresh in my heart.

Is there something that you have done that made no logical sense to you personally, but yet is seemed like the right thing to do?

Recently I did something that felt good to my heart in my Mary Kay business, but it made no logical sense for my business, or for my sister in law, who is my recruiter in Mary Kay...(she is family)
...but it was the right thing to do for this stranger...

Hindsight, I thought of several different ways that I could have helped this lady, and built my business up at the same time...
Hindsight, I questioned my quick decision from the heart...until the next morning!

The next morning, I realized something greater in God in what I had done...I had referred her to an awesome Christian lady that I had met when I was working on advertising my new name in this business.
I am a Christian too, but God just wanted me to do the little step...God always has a bigger plan that we don't need to question or understand.

The next morning, I was telling Robert, my husband, about what I had done and told him about my 'revelation' that morning as I was also telling him about reading Psalm 1.
Robert said, "Karen, when you live your life good and always put other people ahead of you, then God is going to bless you."

...and that is how I as feeling...I was blessed just by peace...but beyond that, in testimony and encouragement, we always prosper from God when we do the right thing. Rob said, "if I was working in the field and the neighbor stopped by and asked me to help him, then I am supposed to stop what I am doing and go and help him."

I was, and am still, so blessed by my husband's wise words of God's law that I just wanted to share that with you today! I hope that you are blessed as well!
And I am so blessed by reading Psalm 1 that I encourage you as well.

Living in God's law is so good for the soul! It's not that complicated...And God looks at and knows our hearts. God will bless us unimaginably when we delight in the law of the LORD.

So, just to share, in case you missed Dr. Stanley and also to give you Psalm 1 to make it handy:

Psalm 1
1"Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel
of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.

2But his delight is in the law of the
LORD,
and on his law he meditates day
and night
3He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.

4Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
5Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish."

Read these 6 verses...morning and evening for 7 days. Take notes and meditate on them for understanding.
Dr. Charles Stanley further encouraged to continue daily for 21 days for dramatic changes.

Ask God how to apply Psalm 1 in our life.

Just to share... God Bless,
Karen

Good Morning Dewey!

You and KKIM have helped myself and so many people on our biblical and spiritual journey! Thank you!

... talking about surrender ... have you read the book, "The Shack" by Wm. Paul Young?

"This book has the potential to do for our generation what John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress did for his. It's that good!"
Eugene Peterson

I'm almost done with it. All I can tell you is that it's a riveting story that addresses the whole issue of biblical surrender.

It also addresses some of the hardest questions we as humans and Believer's have ... like, why did God allow Adam and Eve to sin? If God is sovereign, why does he allow Satan to harm his children? Why do the innocent have to suffer? What about the three in one? Who limits us and why? How can we see the glory of God in horrific tragedies? etc, etc, etc ...

I had theological questions on some parts at first. But, as hard as it was and is, the Holy Spirit had me put down my academic hat and put on the cloak of His love, understanding and peace!

What a delicious, joyous and thought provoking journey!

Thanks again Dewey for keeping us thirsty for His Word!

Blessings

KKIM NEWS ON BABY ANGEL

Frank Has this story for you this morning on Baby Angel, we have been praying everyday at 4:30 for Baby Angel and his family..........please join us as we continue to pray.........

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Albuquerque police have made an arrest in the "Baby Angel" case.
They arrested Tiffany Toribio around 4 a.m. this morning...
Investigators released a picture of Toribio on Wednesday night after receiving several tips that the 23-year-old had a son matching the description of the young boy found buried at Alvarado Park on Friday.
Officers picked up Toribio in the area near Central Avenue and 3rd Street late Wednesday night and took her in for questioning.
Toribio is a member of the Zia Pueblo. Her family told police they hadn't seen her since last Wednesday or her son since last Tuesday.
Wednesday night the investigation led officers to Home Uptown Apartments near Alvarado Park. They searched apartment 69 where they believed Toribio and her son had been at some point.
According to online jail records at the Metropolitan Detention Center, Toribio was booked at 4:46 this morning on an open count of murder, child abuse resulting in death, and negligent child abuse resulting in death or great bodily harm and tampering with evidence.

A PS FROM A FRIEND ON TODAYS CUP KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

I did not want time to past without sending you a response I got from today's CUP! "Surrendering to God"
How amazing it is on how God works.......When God's people come together in worship it all comes together.........

Dewey,

Good Morning! We are good.

Just to share the following, because I read this morning from Charles Stanley and saw the connection to the cup today:
From the Dec 2008 In Touch mailing:
"The believer's self-life is composed of the habits, attitudes, and relationships he or she is unwilling to surrender. Keeping those things from the Lord gives people a sense of independence, which is highly prized in our current culture. However, by following "self," we interfere with God's purpose. He wants every aspect of our life submitted to His will."

Then he reminded of the story in the Bible of "Jonah, who mistook rebellion for freedom..."
"There is only one true liberty: walking in the full obedience to the Lord. Jonah obeyed with his body but not with his heart. And his bitterness shows that stubbornly clinging to our self-life is a snare for the spirit. Unhealthy routines, like thick weeds in our path, prevent us from moving forward. So God is determined to break us loose form any hindrance."

Also to share 2 amazing scriptures...but aren't all scriptures amazing???....just that in my life, the following scriptures have been today's living WORD:

“A man’s mind plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps and makes them sure.” Proverbs 16:9

“Roll your works upon the LORD (commit and trust them wholly to HIM; HE will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to HIS will, and ) so your plans will be established and succeed.” Proverbs 16:3

Have a blessed day!

Love in Christ,

Karen

Thank you so much Karen! When God's people come together, the word of God just flows!!!! Thanks so much for sharing Karen!!!!

Just one more thing, Family Life Today, Dennis Rainey and Bob Lepine just had another outstanding program, heard at 7am and 8:30pm weekdays on KKIM.....they played an interview they had done with Dr. Bill Bright! WOW what a touching time with Dr. Bright. I am so thankful for the wonderful Ministry programs on KKIM! Now listen on Thursday as Dr. Bright will be back on at 7am with Dennis and Bob.

Dr. Bright passed away in 2003. www.billbright.ccci.org

Here was Dr. Bright's favorite verse.........

"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Gal 2:20

PS We would love to hear from you !!!! What would you like to share with us?

A CUP OF SURRENDER TO GOD KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

How are you today?

May the Peace and the Strength of our Lord be with You!

It was nice checking in with Scott Flurry yesterday with the Chama, NM Radio station. Sharon and I love Chama. We are going to try to hop up there for Memorial Day!

Let us prepare our hearts, minds and souls to meet our Lord.......

Give yourself to God...........

Surrender your whole being to Him

to be used for righteous purposes. Romans 6:13

The heart of worship is surrender.

Surrender is an unpopular word, disliked almost as much as the word submission.
In today's competitive culture we are taught to never give up and never give in----so we don't hear much about surrendering. But surrendering to God is the heart of worship. It is the natural response to God's amazing love and mercy.

I would like to share with you two devotional pieces from Oswald Chambers........

After Surrender Then What?

"I have finished the work which You have given Me to do." John 17:4

True Surrender is not simply surrender of our external life but surrender of our will----and once that is done, surrender is complete. The greatest crises we ever face is the surrender of our will. Yet God never forces a person's will into surrender and He never begs. He patiently waits until that person willingly yields to Him. And once that battle has been fought, it never needs to be fought again.

Arguments or Obedience?

"The simplicity that is in Christ....." 2 Cor. 11:3

You cannot think through spiritual confusion to make things clear; to make things clear, you must obey. In intellectual matters you can think things out, but in spiritual matters you will only think yourself into further wandering thoughts and more confusion. If there is something in your life upon which God has put His pressure, then obey Him in that matter. Bring all your "arguments and.......every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ" regarding the matter. and everything will become as clear as daylight to you 2 Cor 10:5

WOW! I have to read that again.........Isn't Oswald Chambers so wonderful!

I am so thankful for all the People of God I have been meeting over the last couple of weeks! The Lord is giving me such an AWESOME opportunity to make new friends! Sharon and I are so thankful for your friendship!

Let us pray...........

Oh Lord, make us sensitive to Your presence with us today, Lord Jesus, that we may honor You with our actions, our words, and our thoughts. Let us surrender all to You!
In the name of Jesus, AMEN!

Thank you for stopping by for a CUP today! We would love to hear from you! Please drop us a line, your words of encouragement help keep us going!!!!!!! Your words are like honey to the soul!

We Need to be in PRAYER CUP KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

I just got a whole bunch of new books that Oswald Chambers wrote! I am so excited!
Let me share this from the powerful updated devotional of Chambers......My Upmost For HIS Highest..........

This message is POWERFUL!!!!

What To Renounce

But we have renounced the hidden things of shame. 2 Cor. 4:2

Have you "renounced the hidden things of shame" in your life------the things that sense of honor or pride will not allow to come into the light?
Renounce everything in it's entirety until there is no hidden dishonesty or craftiness about you at all. You must maintain continual watchfulness so that nothing arises in your life that would cause you shame.

What a message..........After I read that I went to prayer right away...........I prayed that I would be watchful of myself to always act in a Godly way. I became aware of some things I need to watch. How about you?

Yesterday in reading scripture over the phone to my Uncle Joe, I read to him Psalm 23. He loves it!

The Lord is my shepherd;

I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside the still waters.

he restores my soul;

He leads me in the path of righteousness

For His name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil;

For You are with me;

You rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table for me in the

presence of my enemies;

You anoint my head with oil;

My cup runs over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me

All days of my life;

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

AMEN!

Let us get to these prayer needs, first from our Man at the Mike, KKIM's Frank..........

Dewey,
Please add this to the e-mail prayer list:

Annaliese Smith, 10 years old, daughter of our friend Melissa Smith,... Dr's. suspect that she may have M.S. She lost her vision her left eye recently, her vision returned, but a brain scan shows elisions on the right side of her brain. More tests will be done next week.

Please pray for a healing and comfort. Thanks, Alice & Frank

Let us continue to pray for the little boy, Police say he was between 3 to 5 years old, that was buried at an Albuquerque playground. His body was found on Friday. Police still do not have any idea who the little tike is or why. Members of the community are calling this little boy, "Baby Boy Angel". Many got together Saturday night and held a prayer service for him Saturday night. You might remember, Little Tommy, we named him for the 18 month old boy who was strangled and almost has his arm pulled off by his Aunt's boyfriend. We also have had over a dozen bodies discovered buried in the West Mesa in Albuquerque in the last month or so. All young women. Let us pray for our land of Albuquerque........God's Children are being murdered and buried here in Albuquerque, it has shaken me so........We need to be on our knees and pray for Satan to leave our City and for a Revival right here in the Duke City.

Are we, the Church going to play Church or get going here? I really believe with all my heart and soul we are not praying enough and we are not seeking out those who need the Lord enough. We must seek out the gang members, the murderers, drug addicts, Abusers, and minister to them. I know this is not easy, but there is no promise of Ministry work being easy. If you would like to join me, send me an email. We are going to be in prayer everyday at 4:30 on the air, join us. If you would like to come into the station and join us in prayer, email me. I would like to hear from God's people!

This prayer need is from Pastor Kevin Haney of Rio Rancho, NM...........

Eph 1: 3 ¶ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world,
that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,
5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself,
according to the good pleasure of His will,

5/1/09 Please pray for the Merrill family. (The father pastors in Sanders, Arizona.) Two of their sons (ages 16 and 22) were overcome in a river accident. One body was recovered, and the other has not been found yet. There was also a third young man who was lost at the same time. Please pray for these families and the many lives that have been affected.

Remembering Joey, one of the three boys that was overcome in the water
of the Colorado River at the bottom of the Grand Canyon during this year's hike.

Let us check my favorite part of the CUP...........The mailbag, because I love to hear from YOU!

Good Morning Dewey!

Thank you for listening to the Holy Spirit and reminding all of us why we are here ... to give honor and glory to our one and only true God in all of our thoughts, words, actions and deeds!

Keep putting a smile on the face of our Lord!

Blessings,

Keep up the good work and love what you're doing.

Dear Dewey, this 'Cup was very disturbing. (Weekend Cup on Barna Info)I have felt the same way as the History buff. Its very sad to feel that this nation is on the brink, but then there are scriptures to back it up, plus history. I've always heard that history repeats itself. So who knows with the new militia that Obama is planning on, just might be his insite to what is to come.
It makes me think of the five Uncles I have had that fought and served proudly for this country. Five of my Mothers brothers went willingly. Plus my brother was in the Air Force stationed in Japan just a few years after the war ended, only to come home with bone cancer that took 21/2 years to finally kill him at 23 years of age. I was very young at the time, but the memories are etched in my mind of his agony. So many have given to this Nation. And so many have paid the extreme price. My cousin luckily made it out of Afghanistan just lately. He is in Alaska with his memories, of serving.
Its a shame that not all of our Presidents didn't serve this nation. I think then they would have had a better understanding, not to mention appreciation.
God Bless this Country. We are in need of an extreme Blessing that would wake people to the truths of what is going on. But dissolve it without violence.
Gods Will Be Done. sam p.s. I also deeply agree with Mr Graham. He could never be his father. Billy Graham could never be replaced. But I pray another true teacher of God will arise for us. I pray it will happen soon and will be a light for this USA.

Hey Dewey,

Thanks for the air time yesterday. It would warm my heart if someone came up to me at the CLASSeminar and said that heard about the event on KKIM. I pray that there is someone out in your listening audience that was looking for this type of break. That is what happened to me the first time I heard abut the Glorieta Christian Writer's Conference on the radio almost 10 years ago. How cool if the radio spot was the beginning of someone's new adventure with God.

Have a great day and a wonderful weekend! And thanks and bless you for aga in for giving CLASS some radio time.

A Cup to make us reflect and Pray KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

I was not going to send out a Cup today.......but the Lord moved me to share these stories with you. They will make you think and pray. We must face the truth as to where we are at as a Country. We must face the Truth that the only way to get out of this mess is through Jesus Christ.

Our depression can become the occasion for growth. It's proof that God never

wastes an experience, even one arising from the travails of a fallen world.

KKIM's Man on the Mike Frank filed these reports...........

GEORGE BARNA: AMERICA IS BEING DESTROYED INSIDE OUT:
Christian pollster George Barna reached out to members of the Christian press Wednesday night, insisting that United States is being destroyed from the inside and that the way to restore the country is through returning Americans to their core values.
George Barna, founder of The Barna Group, shares ideas presented in his latest book, 7 Faith Tribes, on the opening night of the Evangelical Press Association/Associated Church Press Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana on Wednesday, May 6, 2009.
George Barna, founder of The Barna Group, shares ideas presented in his latest book, 7 Faith Tribes, on the opening night of the Evangelical Press Association/Associated Church Press Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana on Wednesday, May 6, 2009.
The once great United States is decaying, declared Barna to hundreds of Christian journalists on the opening night of the joint annual convention of the Evangelical Press Association and the Associated Church Press.
America's rates of divorce, abortion, STD transmission, spousal abuse and crime are the highest or among the highest compared to other developed nations, he added. And the percentage of students graduating from high school on time has not changed in 32 years.
"The enemy of America today is not Iraq. It is not Afghanistan or communism. It is not Somalian pirates. It's the moral degradation and spiritual complacency of Americans," contended Barna, founder of the research firm The Barna Group. "In essence it is the willingness of Americans to become victims of the imposition of values and objectives that defy our common good."
Barna pointed to what he sees as the many factors that are leading America to its deterioration, including moving from mass production to mass consumption, moving from common values to now radical individualism with personal values, and competition among faith groups rather than cooperation.
"Just think about the shift in mottos that characterize our nation," Barna noted. "We talked about one nation under God, but today really we are one nation under self, sometimes aided by one or more gods.
"We shifted from a nation that said ‘In God We Trust' to ‘Reality and self we trust,’" he continued. "We transitioned from being a land of the free and the home of the brave, to now we are the land of the indebted and the home of the self-indulgent. We also shifted from a land that believes you can be all you can be to now it's get all you can get."
According to Barna, the deterioration of American society is fueled by the breakdown in leadership and core institutions such as family, government, and education. The nation as a whole has lost its shared vision and the shared values that help manage society, the well-known pollster said.
But Barna said he believes there is still hope for restoration if the country's seven faith tribes return to their core values.
The seven faith tribes are the religious groups that Barna categorized based on the more than 30,000 interviews he conducted over the years. These tribes are: casual Christians (66 percent of the U.S. population), captive Christians (16 percent), Jews (2 percent), Mormons (2 percent), pantheists (2 percent), Muslims (0.5 percent), and skeptics (11 percent).
Barna lamented how these groups have for too long contributed to the problem of social decay. Instead of instilling values and morality in their congregants, these groups focus on building more and bigger buildings, offering more programs, establishing more nationally recognized leaders, and raising and spending more money, he noted.
But Barna says it is it is now time for the faith tribes to return to their core values and start restoring America.
Barna believes that=2 0by harnessing the 20 common values shared by faith tribes – including developing inner peace and purity, representing the truth, practicing self-restraint, respecting life, and being a good citizen – Americans can start to rebuild the country to one of civility, accountability, commitment and unity.

*********************************************************************************************************

By Dr. David Kaiser

History Unfolding

I am a student of history. Professionally, I have written 15 books on history that have been published in six languages, and I have studied history all my life. I have come to think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is simply a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes these exist, but they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a sharper focus.

Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it.. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about ten to fifteen years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.

We demand and then codify into law the requirement that our banks make massive loans to people we know they can never pay back? Why?

We learned just days ago that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has "loaned" two trillion dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom or why or disclose the terms. That is our money.. Yours and mine. And that is three times the $700 billion we all argued about so strenuously just this past September. Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought this was a government of "we the people," who loaned our powers to our elected leaders. Apparently not.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy. Why?

We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial that it simply wants marriage to remain defined as between one man and one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?) We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, social security is nearly bankrupt, as is medicare and our entire government. Our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and I know precisely what I am talking about) - the list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth.. It is potentially 1929 x ten... And we are at war with an enemy we cannot even name for fear of offending people of the same religion, who, in turn, cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.

And finally, we have elected a man that no one really knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla , Alaska . All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh, of course. The media would never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe are more important.)

Mr. Obama's winning platform can be boiled down to one word: Change. Why?

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now.

This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

And that is only the beginning..

As a serious student of history, I thought I would never come to experience what the ordinary, moral German must have felt in the mid-1930s In those times, the "savior" was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they should have known was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory. Conservative "losers" read it right now.

And there were the promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and frowned and waved a lot.. And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his "brown shirts" would bully and beat them into submission. Which they did - regularly. And then, he was duly elected to office, while a full-throttled economic crisis bloomed at hand - the Great Depression. Slowly, but surely he seized the controls of government power, person by person, department by department, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The children of German citizens were at first, encouraged to join a Youth Movement in his name where they were taught exactly what to think. Later, they were required to do so. No Jews of course,

How did he get people on his side? He did it by promising jobs to the jobless, money to the money-less, and rewards for the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe , and across the world. He did it with a compliant media - did you know that? And he did this all in the name of justice and .... . .. change. And the people surely got what they voted for.

If you think I am exaggerating, look it up. It's all there in the history books.

So read your history books. Many people of conscience objected in 1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and ridiculed. When Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though. And the world came to regret that he was not listened to.

Do not forget that Germany was the most educated, the most cultured country in Europe . It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And yet, in less than six years (a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency) it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors.. All with the best of intentions, of course. The road to Hell is paved with them.

As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotional decisions, I have a choice: I can either believe what the objective pieces of evidence tell me (even if they make me cringe with disgust); I can believe what history is shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am wrong by closing my eyes, having another latte, and ignoring what is transpiring around me..

I choose to believe the evidence. No doubt some people will scoff at me, others laugh, or think I am foolish, naive, or both. To some degree, perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe-and why I believe it.

I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am. Perhaps the only hope is our vote in the next elections.

The man often called the new Billy Graham -- Joel Osteen -- and the man who hates to be called the new Billy Graham -- his son, Franklin Graham -- are bringing their evangelical road shows to the Twin Cities this summer.

That's not all they have in common. Both of their fathers launched ministries that became phenomenally successful, both vowed that they would never take over those ministries, both did take over the ministries and, as a result, both have become the religious world's equivalent of rock stars.

One more thing: They both say that God has had more to do with their success than they have.

"I have to credit God for anything good I've accomplished," said Graham, who will host a Rock the River "evangelistic concert" Aug. 16 on Harriet Island. Osteen, who will lead a "Night of Hope" at Target Center May 29, is of a similar mind: "God has a plan, and things always work out His way."

Their success flies in the face of common wisdom, which holds that ministries that rely on charismatic founders hit the skids when someone else takes over. Look at Robert H. Schuler, who in October fired his son, Robert A. Schuler, three years after he had handed over the reins to his popular "Hour of Power" ministry.

No such problems loom for either Graham or Osteen.

By the time his father asked him to take over as CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) in 2000, Franklin Graham already was a major player in the faith-based relief community. Starting as a volunteer for Samaritan's Purse, an organization that funnels $300 million a year to more than 20 developing countries, he worked his way up to president and CEO, a position he still holds in addition to his other duties.

As for Osteen, after the 1999 death of his father, John, he built Houston-based Lakewood Church from a megachurch to a gigachurch, with an average weekly attendance of 43,000 and another 8 million people in 100 countries watching each week on TV or video streamed online.

Don't call him Billy

Graham's accomplishments with Samaritan's Purse allow him to remind people that he's not just riding his father's coattails.

"I didn't even start working at BGEA until 1989," the 56-year-old said during a recent visit to the Twin Cities to promote his August rally. By that point, he'd already spent nearly 15 years focusing on his own mission.

In his 1995 autobiography, "Rebel With a Cause," Graham wrote extensively about resenting the pressure that was put on him -- literally from the day he was born -- to walk in his father's footsteps. His mother kept the congratulatory telegrams, which said things like, "Best wishes to the young preacher" and, "Your daddy has new help for preaching."

"Not one of those telegrams or cards ventured that I might grow up to enjoy career success as a cowboy, jet pilot, doctor or motorcycle mechanic," he said.

The key turning point to his career in ministry was the realization that he could carry on his father's work without having to become a Mini-Me.

"I'm not Billy Graham, and I never could be," he said. "Our message is the same, but my style is completely different. I've watched the children of other famous people try to emulate their fathers or mothers, and it doesn't work. They never discover who they are."

Rock the River is an attempt to reach the younger generation "in a language they understand." That means music. Starting in Baton Rouge, La., on July 18, the tour will work its way up the Mississippi River, with Harriet Island as the last stop. It will include music from Flyleaf, Decemberadio and Flame.

"They're head-bangers," Graham said. "They're Christian bands, but I still know that I'm not going to like the music. But that's OK, because the young people do. I'll just bring Advil and ear-plugs."

Don't call him Billy, either

Osteen, 46, isn't sure where the term "the new Billy Graham" originated in connection with him. Perhaps with talk show host Larry King, who has made the Texas minister one of his frequent guests and trumpets the magnitude of his worldwide following.

"I take it as a compliment, but I prefer that people wouldn't say it," he said. "Billy Graham is one of my heroes. I would never compare myself with him."

Although he followed his father to Oral Roberts University, he had no intention of following him into the pulpit, even though his father often encouraged him to do so. He majored in radio and TV communications and spent 17 years overseeing his father's TV broadcasts.

"I was perfectly happy producing and editing those shows," he said. "I never saw myself preaching."

When his father died unexpectedly of a heart attack, he was thrown into the breach. He had all he could do to keep his knees from shaking, he says now, but the long-term results speak for themselves.

"Sometimes God's dream is bigger than yours," he said.

His TV ministry is atypical in that he ends the broadcasts by encouraging viewers to start attending a local church of their choosing. Asked if that might not keep people from being home Sunday morning to watch him, he said that he doesn't care.

"My goal has never been to see how big of an audience I can create," he said. "That wasn't my daddy's goal, either. He started out with 90 people. We never sat down and said, 'Let's see if we can build a megachurch.' There are enough huge churches out there already."

Asked to define his mission, then, he said: "To plant seeds of hope. We all face issues: relationship issues or health issues or economic issues. I never talk down to people. I always try to lift them up. All I've ever done is try to be the best I can be, and I encourage people to be the best that they can be."

Let us Pray....................

Lord, We come to You today on Armed Forces Day. We remember all those who have given their lives for our Country........Our Country that has fallen away from You in many ways........Our Country whose flag is weathered from all it's battles, Our prayer today is that America will once again give it's hearts and souls to You, Father, just like the founders of the United States of America! You are the only way Father, In Jesus name, AMEN!

In the Love of Christ, Dewey Sharon and family
