THIS CUP HAS BEEN BREWED FOR YOU KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

WOW! PRAISE GOD!!! WE GET TO SERVE OUR LORD TODAY!!!!!

I am so blessed to be with you today!!!!

Today's readings are sent by Pastor Jim Montoya. What a blessing he is in the lives of many! His light shines all over New Mexico! You can hear him on KKIM Saturdays at 7:45am, Monday and Tuesdays at 2:30pm

For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. Romans 11:29 AMEN!!

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1 AMEN!

Let us all walk in the Spirit!!!!

Last night was one of those nights when Sharon and I were able to slow down, not enough of those, and enjoy! The weather had cooled off to about 65 degrees..........opened the doors for the cool breeze....Had fried chicken......salad.....and for desert these AWESOME gooey apple cinnamon cookies!!! WOW! We ate and watched Touched By an Angel.......still played on the Hallmark channel......CBS sure made a mistake taking that off years ago! Not many show's on TV that still have a moral message. Still like to catch Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Rifleman, and Andy Griffith.

I have posted prayer needs below...But I want to talk about Jeanie a bit......Jeanie called me yesterday........she is 74 years old........lives in Albuquerque with her husband of nearly 50 years, who Jeanie says is, "Anti Christian", Jeanie says he will not let her support any of the programs on KKIM but will let her order something from Paul Shepard now and then. Jeanie called me because she was concerned about the Hate Crimes bill in Washington. She does not have the Internet. I talk to many elderly people every week.........most do not have the Internet. We cannot forget them! Folks like Jeanie keep me going to work everyday to serve them. KKIM is their one source for information. By the way Jeanie has been sick with pneumonia for most of the year and it has softened the heart of her husband. Her husband left the Church years ago after watching a movie on hell....he has not been back since. Let us pray for Jeanie and her husband.

I also had a 72 year old man from Belen come up to me the other day and say, "Dewey, this new health bill tell's me that the government does not care about me...when I hit 75 they are going to throw me away."

I stand with God's elderly here in on earth!!!! Will you join me???

Many of our leaders in Government have forgotten them!!!!

I cannot believe sometimes that this is the Country I grew up to love.......Is this still the United States of America??........I sometimes wonder that!

Let us pray for our elderly folks as they have so much wisdom to share with us......but only if we listen. Put yourselves in their shoes today.........I don't like the feel!!!!

I am about to share with you a teaching from Dr. David Jeremiah, My old boss at WFRN in South Bend/Elkhart, Ind. Ed Moore is the one who gave Dr. Jeremiah his start in radio years ago in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Ed started him out with a devotional program on a secular station in morning drive! The rest is history! I have been surrounded with people over the years like Ed Moore.......one of the leaders in Christian radio.......Today I am surrounded by many more who help me in my daily walk with Jesus Christ.....I GIVE PRAISE TO GOD FOR THAT!!! www.wfrn.com

Here is a teaching from Dr. Jeremiah taken from his book, Prayer the Great Adventure.........

Let us start today by reading through the Lord's prayer.......

Our father who art in heaven.

Hallowed by Thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done.

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.

Amen (Matt. 6:9-13)

Notice the emphasis on God in the first three petitions. Thy name, Thy kingdom, Thy will. Then notice the second part of the prayer and its emphasis on the poverty of man: Give us, forgive us, deliver us. Then see how the prayer comes full circle by ending with a tight focus on God once more: Thy kingdom, Thy power, Thy glory. God has all the glory and all the power and all the majesty, and you and I have all the needs and all the wants and all the poverty. He's got everything; we have nothing. It's wonderful to come with empty hands to the One who is able to give us everything we need. That's what this prayer is all about and what it will teach us if we strive to learn it's secrets.

The Lord's prayer is a roadmap for us to use when we pray. It's like driving down a highway dotted to one side with signposts.

As we pass the first intersection, we are reminded that we need to acknowledge and give praise to God: "Our father who art heaven, hallowed be thy name."

WOW! What a teaching from Dr. Jeremiah. Lord willing I will post more next week on prayer. Dr. Jeremiah is one of the most popular programs on KKIM!!! And it airs at 5:05am weekdays! I hear all the time we love Dr. Jeremiah!!! www.mykkim.com

I think we really need to slow down when we say the Lords prayer.........and get the true meaning of it.........Let the Holy Spirit move within you........

After posting..........God must increase..........we must decrease.........

Pastor Leonard emailed this........

Once a young pastor was called to another town to preach. In his absence, his wife and daughter stayed at the home of a friend. On the bedroom way, just over the bed in which they slept, was picture of the Lord Jesus. This image was reflected in the large mirror of the dressing table standing in the room's bay window.
When the daughter woke on her first morning there, she saw the picture of reflecting in the mirror while she still lay in bed and exclaimed, "Mommy, Mommy, I can see Jesus through the mirror!" She quickly got up to take a closer look, but in so doing brought her body between the picture and the mirror, so that instead of seeing the picture of Jesus reflected, she now saw herself.
So she lay down again, and again she saw the picture of Jesus. She was up and down several times after that, her eyes fixed on the mirror. Then she said, "Mommy, when I can't see myself, I can see Jesus, but every time I see myself, I don't see Him."

How true it is. When self, the big "I", fills the vision, we miss seeing Jesus.

"Sir," they said, "we would like to see Jesus" John 12:21

Praying for each one of you and your families.

Leonard

Gary sent in this prayer need for his sister..........Lanette Johnson.........

Just finishing talking with my mom on my way home from work, when she informed me that my sister's cancer has returned. My sister didn't want this info to get out (she doesn't want sympathy-calls) and my mom stated that it's been back for some time now. Her daughter says that "she's different..." and mom says that she sleeps a lot and is working from home now.
The prayer request that the Lord has asked of me thru you isn't related to my family in my current household, but of the members from my original household.
The prayer request to post is for COMPLETE REMISSION of Lanette's cancer and that she receives a QUICK and FULL RECOVERY....that she returns to her full-work capacity and that she becomes a vocal champion for our Lord and the God of her RESTORATION...in Jesus' name, Amen!
Thanks Pastor!

We will be praying Gary!

As many of you know I worked for Ed Moore for years at WFRN in South Bend/Elkhart, Ind. Ed's lovely wife Jan is in Las Cruces, NM getting treatment for her liver condition. The Lord has led Jan to this clinic. Let us be in prayer.

Jay from Helena, Montana sent in this reply after the Paul Harvey and Walter Cronkite posting........

The major networks have failed to keep up the Harvey and Cronkite standard and the American Public has lost the faith in them.

Indeed.

--Jay

Jay has been a radio broadcaster now going on what Jay? 40 years? We both are sadden on the journalistic turn in America.

We have this note from State Rep. Janice E. Arnold Jones on her run for Gov. of New Mexico..........Keep Janice in your prayers and she recovers from knee surgery. We thank Janice for her friendship!

2009

Hi! A quick update…

Knee surgery on my left knee was a little surprising. In addition to a torn meniscus, turns out I had done serious damage to the ACL at some point in my life. It was repaired in surgery, but rehab will take longer. Crutches are very frustrating; makes everything move slower when I have an overwhelming desire to move faster.

If you have not heard, I am running for Governor of the State of New Mexico. Why? Because New Mexico can be so much more! Because it is time for New Mexico to lead the Nation – in energy, transmission, technology, agriculture, connectivity, education and prosperity. To engage that potential, we must inject sunlight into the way New Mexico governs and does business.

Corruption costs in wasted resources, increased cost of doing business, increased taxes, ineffective or reduced government services, and repeated loss of opportunity. Ending the culture of corruption begins with individual action.

Web casting my legislative committees was a start, but it is not enough. Open government is a mind-set! We can do this AND we will make better decisions in the view of and with the input of all New Mexicans.

To get my campaign off the ground, I need for you to do three things today:

1. Send a donation today, small or large to:

Janice For Governor
PO Box 56700
Albuquerque, NM 87187

2. Go to: http://haussamen.blogspot.com/ today and vote for your choice for a Republican candidate for Governor. Time is critical as this poll will be pulled tomorrow. While this is not a scientific poll, perception is exactly that. You can help create a positive perception!

3. Please forward this e-mail to three friends today. If you think that honesty and openness can make a difference, tell your friends about me and remind them that the walk is more important than the talk.

Thanks.

NEW MEXICO NEWS AND VIEWS TODAY:

Lord willing we will have Allen Weh on with us who also is running for Gov. of New Mexico. Allen is a former Marine, My Dad was a SGT. in the Marines in World War !!, and if he were alive today he would be so sadden and upset and the same time on the condition of this country! It may take the Marines to get our country straighten out!!!

Let us get an update from Pastor Don.............

Just finishing talking with my mom on my way home from work, when she informed me that my sister's cancer has returned. We have some Funny Bones to share but let me tell you what Ron Allen said yesterday on New and Views on KKIM........

Ron was filling in for Chuck and Larry and was talking to IRN/USA White House Correspondent Connie Lawn. Connie was talking about the beer summit! Ron then said, "Well, the last time the President had a few beers, we know what happened, he bought GM!"

Why do men have this thing about having a beer? An Albuquerque radio station did a whole thing yesterday on who would you want to have a beer with? And this in our state with the huge DWI problem we have!!!!

Where are our role models?

Why can't the President just have a CUP with us right here?

last week Lew sent us a FUNNY BONE.....this week Franchesca..........

STORY OF ELIJAH:

The Sunday school teacher was carefully explaining the story of Elijah the Prophet and the false prophets of Baal. She explained how Elijah built the altar, put wood upon it, cut a steer in pieces, and laid it upon the altar. And then, Elijah commanded the people of God to fill four barrels of water and pour it over the altar. He had them do this four times.

"Now, asked the teacher, "Can anyone in the class tell me why the Lord would have Elijah pour water over the steer on the altar?"

A little girl in the back of the room started waving her hand, "I know! I know!" she said, "To make the gravy!"

GOOD SAMARITAN

A Sunday school teacher was telling her class the story of the Good Samaritan, in which a man was beaten, robbed and left for dead. She described the situation in vivid detail so her students would catch the drama. Then, she asked the class, "If you saw a person lying on the roadside all wounded and bleeding, what would you do?" A thoughtful little girl broke the hushed silence, "I think I'd throw up."

HIGHER POWER

A Sunday school teacher said to her children, "We have been learning how powerful kings and queens were in Bible times. But , there is a higher power. Can anybody tell me what it is?" One child blurted out, "Aces!"

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD

A Sunday school teacher decided to have her young class memorize one of the most quoted passages in the Bible; Psalm 23. She gave the youngsters a month to learn the verse. Little Rick was excited about the task -- but, he just couldn't remember the Psalm. After much practice, he could barely get past the first line. On the day that the kids were scheduled to recite Psalm 23 in front of the congregation, Ricky was so nervous. When it was his turn, he stepped up to the microphone and said proudly, "The Lord is my Shepherd, and that's all I need to know."

WHILE DRIVING

While driving in Pennsylvania , a family caught up to an Amish carriage. The owner of the carriage obviously had a sense of humor, because attached to the back of the carriage was a hand printed sign... "Energy efficient vehicle: Runs on oats and grass. Caution: Do not step in exhaust."

A QUILT

Sunday after church, a Mom asked her very young daughter what the lesson was about. The daughter answered, "Don't be scared, you'll get
your quilt." Needless to say, the Mom was perplexed. Later in the day, the pastor stopped by for tea and the Mom asked him what that
morning's Sunday school lesson was about. He said "Be not afraid, thy comforter is coming

Here is Dr. Deb with a previews of this Saturday's program.........

Hi, Dewey,
Thanks for your help today. Here is information about my show for this Saturday.

Night after night individuals, couples, and families with children or elderly parents are asking the question where they will spend the night. Jeremy Reynalds, Ph.D., Founder and Chief Executive Officer started Joy Junction 23 years ago as a place to shelter and serve the homeless in Albuquerque . Joy Junction has the capacity to serve 300 people a day, providing a “Hand Up” not a handout. It is the largest shelter for families in the state. Jeremy will be my guest this week to tell us about homelessness in Albuquerque and what we can do to help.

PRAISE CUP and then TAXES!!! KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family!!!

It is right to give PRAISE and GLORY to GOD!!!!

Praise note...........Cheryl got the job she applied for!!!! Thank you for your prayers!!!

God blesses the people who patiently endure testing. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12

On Friday we are going to have a HUGE posting........We have so much to share!

Today I want to share this with you. It was sent in by Pastor Leonard........

545 vs. 300,000,000 EVERY CITIZEN NEEDS TO READ THIS AND THINK ABOUT
WHAT THIS JOURNALIST HAS SCRIPTED IN THIS MESSAGE. READ IT AND THEN REALLY
THINK ABOUT OUR CURRENT POLITICAL DEBACLE.
Charley Reese has been a journalist for 49 years. 545 PEOPLE By
Charlie Reese
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and
then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are
against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation
and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.
You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on
appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank
does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme
Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are
directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic
problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that
problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its
Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered,
but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound
reason.. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a
senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-pickingthing. I
don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The
politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist
promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that
what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con
regardless of party. What separates a politician from a normal human being
is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of
a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits..
The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to
accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole
responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving
appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She
is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the
president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it,
they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not
replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of
incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic
problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully
grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal
government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red ..
If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in
IRAQ
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement
plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.
Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they
hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice
they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and
from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into
the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy,"
"inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an
oath to do.
Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.
They, and they alone, have the power.
They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are
their bosses.
Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.
We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!
Charlie Reese is a former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper.
What you do with this article now that you have read it.......... Is
up to you.

This might be funny if it weren't so darned true. Be sure to read all
the way to the end:
Tax his land, Tax his bed, Tax the table At which he's fed.
Tax his tractor, Tax his mule, Teach him taxes Are the rule.
Tax his work, Tax his pay, He works for peanuts Anyway! Tax his cow,

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY? Not one of these taxes existed 100 years
ago, and our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely
no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed
home to raise the kids. What happened? Can you spell
'politicians?' And I still have to 'press 1' for English!?
I hope this goes around THE USA at least 100 times!!! YOU can help it
get there!!! GO AHEAD - - - BE AN AMERICAN!!!

Coffee and Danish with Don/Dorothy KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

Did not intend to post anything today but the Lord moved me to share........

PRAISE GOD!!! WE ARE TOGETHER!!! WE GET TO SERVE THE LORD TODAY!!!!!

This from Brother Paul Martin.........

DAILY THOUGHT! - There's a price to pay if you want to make things better, and a price you'll pay for just leaving things as they are.

AMEN!

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 2 Corinthians 4:17

Please go to www.mykkim.com and click on programming and go to NM News and Views. Last night we talked about abortion and the proposed Health Care bill. Get involved. Pastor Leonard gave a good run down on last nights info. Thank you to all of you for all your prayers and support of NM News and Views!

Your prayers are so welcomed for me and Sharon as we go through the process of becoming a Pastor. Sharon is supporting me in this effort which is so important in a marriage. I want to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts for the letters you have written on my behalf. Your words are like honey. We have almost a dozen Pastor's who are supporting my efforts to become a Pastor for the Lord. This has been a dream of mine since the early 70's when my Grandma Caraway said, "Dwayne, you should be a Pastor!" And when Uncle Joe had the Lord come to him and tell him to tell me to become a Pastor. My application is complete, Letters included from references and now I turn it over to Pastor Jim. Please keep this in your prayers! Thank you so much!!!!!

We have this update from Pastor Don and Dorothy who are in Israel..........even thou as I write this I am listening to Don on KKIM with Nuggets of Truth at 7:30!!! The wonders of radio!!!!!

Hello everyone,
Our Conference ended at noon today, while you sleepy heads were still in dreamland. Yesterday Dorothy taught the ladies again on the importance of memorizing God's word. At the same time I taught the church leaders and some other pastors on True Discipleship from Mt. 28:19-20. I preached again last night on the simplicity of the Gospel message and plan of salvation. Because God desires everyone to repent and come to the knowledge of the truth, He has not made this salvation message difficult to understand, so man is without excuse.

Many came forward for prayer at the close of the service which ended about midnight. The people have no reluctance to ask God for help about everything. They also don't seem to worry about time, especially when it comes to worship. We have many testimonies to share with you later.

The evangelical Arab Christian community of believers are a beautiful example of faithful people. We will treasure this experience forever as our faith has increased by being here. As usually is the case, we came to bless but will leave having received the greater blessing. That strong, hot Turkish coffee and delicious pastries after service does not hurt either! May God bless the evangelical churches of Nazareth and Haifa and throughout this land. Tomorrow we explore the old area of Nazareth, the church of the Annunciation, the synagogue of Luke 4 and the cliff where they attempted to push Jesus off. Oh, foolish people! God bless.

Love in Christ,
Pastor Don and Dorothy

I am traveling to Belen today........please keep me in your prayers......many new friends of KKIM and KARS in the area! PRAISE GOD!!!

Thanks for your prayers for Steph she arrived safely in N.C.

Let us pray for Cheryl who is interviewing for a job.

Let us go to the Lord...........

Dear God of all comfort, help us to remember that there is a loving purpose behind every problem that you allow in our lives. Teach us to respond to the difficulties the way Jesus would. Cultivate our character through circumstances of life. Help us to trust your purpose in our pain. We also pray for Cheryl and all who are seeking work. In the name of Jesus, AMEN!!!!

I would love you to join me on twitter......... www.twitter.com/radiodewey

Cup from Israel with Pastor Don KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

PRAISE GOD!!!! We can be together today!

May the Strength and Peace of the Lord be with you and yours!

It is right to give PRAISE and GLORY to GOD!

Thought's for the Day..........

God must increase........We must decrease.......It isn't about us.

To abide in God's Word I must apply its principles. I must be "a doer of the Word"

For the Glory of God is the human person fully alive, and life consists in beholding God. For if the vision of God which is made by means of the creation, gives life to all living in the earth, much more does that revelation of the Father which comes through the Word, give life to those who see God. From Irenaeus, Against Heresies

We are so blessed to have Pastor Don send us reports from Israel

Yesterdays' Report...........
Hello everyone,
I believe the power of your prayers were evident as I preached last night. My message was "Come and See" from Jn. 1:46 and Lk. 4:16-21. The text centers on Nazareth, not only as the boyhood home of Jesus but His identification with that village throughout His ministry, even after His death (Acts 22:6-8). It was in Nazareth that he experienced His first rejection and His first death threat. After He left Nazareth, apparently He never returned and the village was labeled as a place of great unbelief (Mk. 6:6). But Jesus never rejected Nazareth as He did other villages where He did great works and miracles (Mt. 11:20-24).
My conclusion? Jesus has not forgotten or given up on Nazareth, it will be restored as a place where Jesus is welcomed and they will believe again. Well, the next day two pastors from Nazareth (there are only four evangelical churches here) came up to me and thanked me for that revelation. They were discouraged because of the huge Muslim population and difficult ministry. Now they said they have been energized to continue and expand their efforts. Isn't God amazing? Thank you for your support. We are doing well and the worship at the conference is wonderful! God bless.

Today's Report:

Hello everyone,
I am writing this just after noon here, which means most of you are still asleep. So I will say good morning! I preached last night on being one in the Spirit. There is so much conflict in the land here among Christian groups, most of whom are nominal Christians at best. But there is a deeply committed movement among the evangelical Christian Arabs and they are having great success among the Muslims and nominal Christian Arabs, Greek Orthodox, Catholic, etc.I want to tell you something, these brothers here are literally putting their lives on the line for Jesus. They are heavily persecuted and lives are threatened but they continue in faith and are encouraged to know that we love them and are interceding. Keep it up church!

The response last night was exciting as many came forward for salvation, healing and filling with the Holy Spirit. One older lady who was probably my age, said she wanted to receive Jesus as her Savior, be filled with the Holy Spirit and have her hearing restored in her left ear. I said to her, let's take first things first, and then God did all three!

Dorothy taught her first class to the ladies, and will teach again tonight before I preach again. She did so well and the women just love her. Tonight I am preaching on Core Convictions of the Christian Faith and will minister the healing grace of God. Acts 4:29-32 is being answered. Thank you all for you continuing prayers. God is using you. God bless.

Love in Christ,
Pastor Don and Dorothy

I am thankful that Pastor Don was not at the softball game last night........Grace Church pounded us and showed no GRACE!!!! HA! HA!

I am thankful for all of your phone calls and emails of encouragement. We are getting to the end of 2009, WOW! I believe that the Lord has sped up time! As I get older it seems that time just flies by!

I leave you with this today..........

The Bible was not given to increase our knowledge but to change our lives. D. L. Moody

Be listening for Frank Haley's grand daughter, Aspen, on KKIM encouraging you to listen to her Grandpa do the news!

I want to thank all of you who have recorded messages encouraging folks to support the Ministry programs on KKIM! It is so neat to see God at work brining many people of different denominations together for one purpose: GOD

My Dear Friends of KKIM and the CUP,

We can make a difference........... pray........Did you know that this Nation of ours was once a praying Nation?

The last time prayer swept across the face of our Nation was 1858.......the last Great Awakening!

At Noon, daily in New York 6,000 people would gather for prayer........In Chicago 2,000 would gather.

Tens of Thousands would gather in Church's at night across America to pray!

10,000 souls a week were being converted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We can do that now! Why not another Great Awakening!!! NOW!!!

During that time the work of God went forward across America........Now is the time! We got started this past weekend at the Church of God in Los Lunas!!!! let us keep going!!! PRAISE GOD!!!.

We are here to serve, not to be served...........with Love in Christ, Dewey Sharon and family

Sunday Cup of Coffee/KKIM DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

It is right to give PRAISE and GLORY to GOD!!!

I am thankful we are together!

I want to invite you to join us at www.twitter.com/radiodewey

You can keep up on what's going on and we would love to have you join us.

Saturday was a HUGE day in the LORD and the Los Lunas Church of God. We had updates on twitter and on KKIM.

Hebrew, Spanish and English all spoken at the event on Saturday.........People from all different Church's showed up to show support for what Pastor Jim Montoya and his congregation is doing. It has become a Lighthouse for the area! God's light shining all through the Los Lunas area. In fast, some of the congregation built a lighthouse on top of the Church that now shines the light even at night!

I have to tell you God was really moving in that Church!!!! The Holy Spirit engulfed it!!!

The thing that hit me and Pastor Mark Tross was that God brought so many people together from different backgrounds!

That is what God wants.......togetherness in HIM!

People caring about each other. I got so many hugs! People praying for each other, loving each other. Accepting each other in the love of Jesus Christ!

I find that in the smaller Church's .......God is so alive.........His word is so alive!

The average Church in America has 100 members.

I give Praise and Thanks to God for Pastor Jim Montoya and his congregation for inviting me and Pastor Mark to their event.

Pastor Mark and I talked on the way home how God is moving...........brining people together BREAKING DOWN WALLS OF DENOMINATIONS........brining believers together..........He so much wants us all to be together in HIM!

We have built too many walls.......Let God's people come together to worship and seek GOD!!!

Let us not worry about the color of carpet or opening a coffee shop in our Church......or red tape........or the next board meeting.........Let us break down walls.........let us come together.............I am seeing it right before my eye's with the Church's on KKIM. That is the fun part of my job!!!!!

God didn't create denominations.........man did.

In God is my salvation and my glory;

The rock of my strength,

And my refuge, is in God.

Psalm 62:7

AMEN!!!!

A Cup with Paul Harvey GOOD DAY KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

"When a person prays for guidance, and doors continue to open instead of close, a person comes to think of his job as a high obligation........to enlighten and inform." Paul Harvey

I am reading "Paul Harvey's America" The story of one of the greatest American ever! I thank Pastor Leonard for the book!

Paul was born in 1918 in Tulsa, Ok a booming city because of oil.In 1921 his Father who was an assistant to the Police Chief of Tulsa was killed by gun fire. Paul grew up without his Dad.

Paul Harvey grew up in Tulsa, Ok.........10 year old Paul left school early one day......he walked sideways with his back to the wall to the buildings of downtown Tulsa all the way because he had torn the seat of his only pair of pants at school.......his Mother was going to meet him at the store to buy a new par, in fact two pairs with the $11.95 she had saved to pay taxes with.

Before Paul Harvey reached his Mother, the 10 year old battled intense embarrassment and self-consciousness as he slowly made his way down the long mile of blocks between school and store. And as he watched the fancy car's of Tulsa's upper crust drive by, he felt something new----a rising, agonizing bitterness.

He wrote: In that long mile........many liveried chauffeurs in their great limousines had passed.........unmindful of my predicament. But the feeling to a half-frightened, half-ashamed youth was that they knew and didn't care.

How many of us have walked that mile?

I have..............

Miss Harp, Paul Harvey's most trusted teacher told him..............

"Paul, never feel resentment in your heart for those who have more than you. Just do all you can as long as you live to preserve this last wonderful land........in which any man willing to stay on his toes.........can reach for the stars."

That lesson of what Miss Harp said was a watershed moment that never left Paul's soul.

WOW! I had a few Miss Harp's in my life...........Do all you can as long as you can to preserve this last wonderful land.........WOW.........that is what my calling is........that is why I get up every morning and go to work........PRAISE GOD!!!

Paul Harvey certainly did is work well...........and that is an understatement.

Just a side note here:

Is America paying attention?

In a year that we have lost two of the greatest newsman ever, Paul Harvey and Walter Cronkite....Time magazine does a Poll and finds that Jon Stewart of that weird show "The Daly Show" is the most trusted newsman in America!!!

I have to tell you I have been doing this for 35 years and this is a dramatic shift in society. For most America's to get their news from this type of guy is alarming! One of the reasons for this shift is that the traditional sources of news are doing such a horrible job. The major networks have failed to keep up the Harvey and Cronkite standard and the American Public has lost the faith in them.

As Pastor Barry Dickens told me, "There is a lot of nothing noise out there." AMEN to that! Most of it is coming from the news networks! We at KKIM are so thankful for what the Lord has done for us and also for the IRN/USA Radio Network!

Our mission at KKIM is to stand in the gap............for the Lord and bring the TRUTH.

Let's now get the TRUTH from Pastor Don in Israel..........

Hello everyone,
What a beautiful day in Haifa, Israel. We are spending the day with our hosts, Pastor Philip and Violet Saa'd. What wonderful people that we are learning from about the history and culture of Christian Evangelical Arabs in Israel. We had a long flight, with little sleep but we caught up last night and are staying at a very nice Christian hotel called Beit Shalom (House of Peace). The land of Israel is beautiful and Haifa is like a mini-San Francisco. We have been discussing theology all morning (that's what pastors do, you know). I am scheduled to preach tomorrow evening in Nazareth. Thank you for your prayers. Please read Acts 4:29-32 and pray that prayer with us. We are expecting great and marvelous things to happen here. God is a God of surprises. Come and see (John 1:46). That's why we're here I believe. God bless.

Love in Christ,
Pastor Don and Dorothy

I am headed down shortly with Pastor Mark Tross for the "We want to meet You" at the Church Of God in Los Lunas! It starts at 11am today.......Hope to see you there!

Let us Pray..........

Lord, We thank you for America.......We thank you for the ability to get up every morning and worship you! We pray for Your strength and boldness to keep spreading Your word. In the name of Jesus, AMEN!

In the Love of Christ, Dewey Sharon and family

Weekend Cup KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

You know what my friend's?.........we get to be together today in the Lord!!!!

We get to share a cup together! PRAISE GOD!

Finding Purpose..........

God's word says...........

I am convinced of this, so I will continue with you so that you will grow and experience the joy of your faith. Philippians 1:25 AMEN! PRAISE GOD!

Pastor Leonard what is that favorite line of yours from the Baseball movie. "The Rookie" The true story of Pitcher Jimmy Morris? ..........WE get to play baseball today?

Let us take joy in moments like this to be together........and as I tell the younger guys on the softball team..you never know when it will be your last game!

Please read below how you can help us write a letter to President Obama. It is further down in the post. Thanks.

A Huge "Get to Know You" is being held at the Los Lunas Church Of God on Saturday....Free food, games for the Kids.......Lot's of fun and love! For more info call Pastor Jim at 440-9770.....he would love to hear from you. The Church of God in Los Lunas is on the move for the Lord! They want to meet you.........share with you what God is doing with their Ministry! You can also email me radiodewey@aol.com

To start off today's CUP Lew shares this FUNNY BONE WITH US..........

Leroy went to the revival and listened to the preacher. After awhile
the pastor asked that anyone with needs to be prayed over should
come forward to the altar.

Leroy got in line, and when it was his turn, the pastor asked:
"What do you want me to pray about for you?" Leroy replied:
"Pastor, I need you to pray for my hearing."

The preacher put one finger in Leroy's ear and he placed the
other hand on top of Leroy's head and prayed and prayed.

After a few minutes, the pastor removed his hands, stood back
and asked: "How is your hearing now, son?"

"I don't know, Reverend, it ain't until next Wednesday...!"

HA! HA! LEW! GOOD ONE!!!!

Think about the following........

When you discover your mission, you will feel its demand. It will fill you with enthusiasm and a burning desire to get to work on it. W. Clement Stone

WOW that is how if feel...a burning desire to serve our Lord and his people!

We have talking about the changing of the meaning of words and so forth in our society.......

From Chuck Colson:

"In a culture infected with moral AIDS, words lose their meaning. Thus taxes become "revenue assessments enhancements"; perversion is "gay"; murder of unborn children is "freedom of choice"; Marxism in the church is called, "Liberation theology". These are all good words (in the Nazi era "the final solution" had a nice ring to it also). And everyone just nods unquestioningly. But when words lose their meaning, it is nearly impossible for the Word of God to be received. If sin and repentance mean nothing, then God's grace is irrelevant. Our preaching falls on deaf ears. This moral deafness leads to disaster. The Scriptures tell us it was when the people accepted King Ahab's gross evils as "trivial" that fearsome judgment befell ancient Israel."

You are what you do........You are what you say...........
Dear Dewey, today you reminded me of something that I learned years ago. My Mentor was such a wonderful woman, and Mother. But when you said "you are what you do" Well, She always taught her children, "You are what you say" if they called someone a name for instance, she would always remind them of that.. I've never forgotten it. She had 7 children, and did a wonderful job. I miss her terribly, but as you can see her memory will never go away. And I for one can't wait to see her in Heaven.
Love, sam

You are what you do, say, think..........

Or like the Gov. and State Legislators of New Mexico who do nothing about drunks ruling the roads of New Mexico. It is also what you do not do! You would think our elected officials would burn the midnight oil and pass tough laws on drunk driving and then get the courts to make them stick. Instead we have a Gov. who just proposed a green chili hamburger cook off at the state fair while people are dying on our roads. We have a state legislature that is silent on this issue. Time to elect people who care about this issue and other important issues, instead of what is best for them. I don't know how some of these folks can sleep at night.

Former UCLA basketball Coach John Wooden said, "A soft pillow is a clear conscience." Lot of hard pillows in New Mexico State Government.

How you act is a reflection on God- from the words you use and the way you live to the choices you make. You are either enhancing God's reputation or detracting from it.

I am here to bring the truth and not be Politically Correct. Every New Mexico Citizen needs to be accountable for the drunk driving problem. We have not done enough.

New Mexico's track record on drunk driving and the killing of innocent people is unacceptable.

When I sat down today to share a CUP with you, I did not think this is where it was going to go.....but God put these words on my heart as I sat down. God is weeping with every drunk driving death here in New Mexico.

Here at KKIM and The CUP we are writing a letter to President Obama. We are compiling 10 questions to ask him, This is Biblical as Pastor Mark Tross says. So send me your questions to the President and we will send them and see what happens. We already have gathered 5 from last nights New Mexico News and Views program. The President says he answerers his mail so let's give it a try. Let us try and gain answerers from our President.

Also a reminder if you have some Bibles you can donate to the Youth in Uganda please contact me we have about 150 rounded up and need 250 or more! Please email me if you can help out.

As you may remember Pastor Don Kimbro and his lovely wife Dorothy are, well now they would be in Israel.........Here is what Pastor Don emailed me yesterday.......

Hello all,
We are on our way to Israel! Thank you for your prayers on our behalf and for the Haifa Baptist Church and their pastor Philip Saa'd and his wife Violet. Our trip by air from start to finish will be about 19 hours. Wow! The space shuttle Discovery is the only faster way to get there but those tickets were more than we could afford but thanks to the generosity of the body of Christ, our expenses have been met.

This is what I believe the Lord spoke to our hearts this week as we prepare for the conference in Nazareth. It's from Isaiah 12:4-6: "In that day you will say: 'Give thanks to the LORD, call on His name; make known among the nations what He has done, and proclaim that His name is exalted. Sing to the LORD, for He has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world. Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you." Now that's a great word and I believe a reading from Philippians 2:8-11, tells us how to do that. God's blessings to you all.

Love in Christ,
Pastor Don and Dorothy

Please keep Pastor Don and Dorothy in your prayers.

Please pray for Pastor Jesse Dompreh for safe travel.

Please keep Gary in your prayers.

Please pray for Craig Price and the health issues he is facing.

Profound Words Cup KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

It is such a blessing to be with you all today!

May the PEACE and STRENGTH of the LORD be with you and yours!!!

A couple of thoughts today..........

You are what you do.........Read that again! You are what you do! I read that in Rahn Larson's column in the Windom, Minn newspaper, my hometown paper, Rahn was quoting a writer from the Boston Globe in wondering if Steve McNair was a good person or a bad person.......it is so true.... think about yourself.........you are what you do! Do you love and worship the Lord? Do you read God's word? Do you love your family? Do you cheat? Do you Lie? You are what you do?

Years ago as a student at Brown Institute where I took radio and TV.......I was taught that you had to repeat information at least 6 times before it would sink into the minds of the listeners. I always have kept that in mind when being on the radio and doing the CUP! I asked Pastor Mark Tross and Pastor Leonard Navarre how many times they have found that they have to repeat their message to get it across to their congregation. Both said it takes really about those 6 times to do so. In a society that is in love with instant gratification and loving 15 sec. sound bites on TV and quick reads.......it is hard........But please pay attention and share with your friends. These simple words.........Are you unhappy? Are you uneasy? Look in the mirror....You are what you do! You can change!

Also pray over these words..........These words should grab your attention!!! They did mine!!! WOW!

How you act is a reflection on God---from the words you use and the way you live to the choices you make. You are either enhancing God's reputation or detracting from it.

WOW! That will make a guy think! Read that over a dozen times and let it sink into your mind and soul.

I want to thank all of you who have expressed love and care for Gary. It's interesting that all who responded are women. Angel's of God with much wisdom!

I want to PRAISE GOD for the family we have here at the CUP and KKIM! It is a loving caring family in our Lord Jesus Christ!

I want to thank Chris and Eric KKIM listeners who are traveling in the North Dakota area who are going to stop by and see my first boss in radio, Oscar Halverson. Oscar is over 90 now and in a nursing home in Williston, ND. I will never forget the day Oscar came to Brown Institute and hired me to come be a radio announcer at KGCX in Sindey, Montana with studio's in Williston, North Dakota. It was the only radio station to have studio's in two states and two time zones! Oscar did many nice things for me while I worked for him.........like fill up my gas tank from time to time........replace my transmission in my old Dodge Dart.......Great memories of those days.....I also met some of my best friends while working for Oscar........Craig and Anita Price........they took me and made me part of their family! KGCX helped make me the announcer I am today! It's been almost 35 years now and I still feel the love!

Over the past several weeks we have been talking about how the meaning of words have changed in American Society.........like setting records.........how was the record set........what is a lie? a lie is a lie right?........cheating is cheating right? It seems today that even in the Church we give excuses to what is right and wrong. One of my hero's Harmon Killebrew Hall Of Fame Baseball player now says since so many have cheated in Baseball why keep records at all??? Baseball is a tarnished sport forever by the actions of the players and owners...........

Manny Ramirez was back in the Los Angeles Dodgers' lineup on July 3 after a 50-game suspension for being a drug cheat. On Wednesday night, he hit his fifth home run since his return. He is now at 538 for his career and has surpassed Mickey Mantle for No. 15 on the all-time home run list.

"To see his name above Mantle's on the list ... that's a shame," Harmon Killebrew said.

Killebrew was No. 5 on the all-time list, one behind Frank Robinson, when he retired with 573 home runs after the 1975 season.

He held that position for 26 years, before being passed in this decade by Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa and Ken Griffey Jr. Alex Rodriguez hit No. 572 on Sunday and soon will drop Killebrew to 10th in career home runs.

Or, as a reporter asked this week at the start of a phone conversation, "Does it bother you that another steroid/drug cheat is ready to go past you on the all-time list?"

Harmon paused and said: "I think it would bother anybody, but what can you do? Nobody is really doing anything to address what steroids did to the game, what it did to the game's records.

"As far as I'm concerned, Hank Aaron is the all-time home run champ, and Roger Maris should still have the [single-season] record at 61, but Barry Bonds is the name you see in the record book."

The great slugger of the Twins paused again and said: "You wonder if it's worth it to have a record book?"

Baseball is what it has done.........cheat.

The only record book that counts is the Lord's book!

Yes Harmon...sad but true..I am afraid most all sports record books have been tarnished by cheating and lying. The flesh........Most sports fans will turn their nose up on what I just wrote..but it is the HARD TRUTH! The owners and players have lined their pockets with what they were after, MONEY! The joke is on us fans! It is time to call out the Owners and Players and release all names that cheated and suspend them for life! But our society is afraid to tell the TRUTH and face the FACTS! What an example for the youth of our country! Sadly most will put their heads in the sand on this one!

Let us look in the mirror today and look inside ourselves........When we look at ourselves and check up on our personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.........we can begin to see who we are........Most problems start with ourselves not others.

Let us pray............

Oh Lord, Let us all be good examples to others as your son's and daughters........Let us be watchful of our words and actions......Thank you Lord for this opportunity to get together today. In the name of Jesus, AMEN!

Prayer Needs/Bibles for Uganda KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

We have prayer needs................

I'm at a crossroad in my life at the time of this typing. My home has been in bankruptcy and has fallen behind in payments (I'm presently employees in the auto sales industry) to where I had 10 days to come up with just over $21,000--that isn't in my bank account. I say 'my' because my significant other has decided that our relationship has run it's course. I'm disappointed that she has allowed herself to be drawn back into the secular...& @ the same time, I'm relieved that this battle is about to be removed from my presence. I would love to keep my home...and my wife, but due to lack of desire and finances seem to be stripped of both.
I'm listening, but have nit heard anything...
What was that which you just sent out about 1John 3:16...about the needs of others?

Gary W

Please pray for Gary and his wife. Many people are falling into financial problems. We have to stand strong for Gary in prayer.....we have to stand strong in prayer for his wife.
Life is full of miracles. I am one!
If you would like to send Gary a message please forward it to me. He is a good man...been active in his Church.
Let us pray for miracles.......Life is full of miracles. The Bible is full of miracles. "wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him." Expect a miracle-make miracles happen by believing in God, by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, by believing in your country and by believing in yourself. Always remember you are packed full of potential miracles put there by the One who knows you better than anyone-the good God, the Creator who made you....Our Lord Jesus Christ!

Hey brother,
Just a reminder to issue prayer request for our Bro Don Kimbro and his wife. Here it is in his words,

"I will be preaching in Israel on church unity and becoming one as Jesus prayed (John 17:11). We are leaving on Thursday for our trip of a lifetime. I will be preaching five times in Nazareth and Haifa to mostly Christian Arabs, Messianic Jews and Muslim background believers. My bride will teach a ladies group as well. I can't explain why God would chose us but I'm sure glad He did! Thank you for praying for us. This should be quite an experience. May God be magnified (Psm. 70:4)."

Check out this video on the lowest class of Chaste people in India. They are so open to the gospel of Jesus Christ. They make less than $1.00 per day.

Please pray for India.

Leonard

Can you help us get Bibles to Uganda?

S.E. Coleman joined us once again this afternoon with a challenge to meet, 500 Bibles for Uganda! 500 teens from 5 villages, within a ten mile radius, gather together in Uganda and they need The Word Of God. Tue. Morning Cup of Sunshine KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

It is so AWESOME to be with you today!

Thanks for that smile! Let us gather for Jesus!

Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

Yesterday I took the day off..I have been very tied........I have been spending time working on the house and my office and spending time with Lars. I woke up yesterday with a cloud hanging over my head...I have no idea why........but yes I do....Satan was attacking me.......I had the most troubling thoughts of failure, house not selling etc.....

If it was not for the faith I have stored up in me and the Armour of God Almighty I would have been defeated. Being with Lars certainly helped. Sharon is not available when she is working at the Hospital.

Some of you might be saying, Dewey you sure are making yourself vulnerable!Yes I am! Because we all need to do that with our Brothers and Sisters in Christ. We all will have our times of being tired and weak, we need to be their for each other..and not put on such a brave, false front at times.

We are to be here for each other..........

He laid down His life for us. We should also lay down our lives for our brothers. 1 John 3:16

"There is no condition in life in which we cannot abide in Jesus. We have to learn to abide in Him wherever we are placed." Oswald Chambers

Oswald Chambers was so full of Godly wisdom. Did you know that he passed away at age 43 in Egypt? His life is a testament that when we die our legacy carries on. His wife, Biddy, worked the rest of her life publishing her husband's spoken words. And what powerful words they are!

A colleague once dubbed Chambers "the apostle of the haphazard" because of his repeated emphasis on the importance of what seem to be the random events of life:

Here's what Oswald said, "One great thing to notice is that God's order comes to us in the haphazard. We try to plan our ways and work things out for ourselves, but they go wrong because there are more facts than we know; whereas if we just go on with the days as they come, we find that God's order comes to us in that apparently haphazard way."

WOW!

Let us remember my friends what is in James 1:2-4, where the brother of Jesus wrote, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trails of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that may be mature and complete, not lacking in anything."

We can face testing with genuine joy because we know that it produces perseverance. That leads to maturity and completeness, to our becoming people who lack none of the skills needed for wise and godly living.

It seems that message is for me! How about you? No it is not easy, you are right!

Just one more thing that I would love to share with you from Oswald..........

"Have we ever got into the way of letting God work, or are we so amazingly important that we really wonder in our nerves and ways what the Almighty does before we are up in the morning!"

From Casey Treat from "How to be Your Best When You Feel Your Worst"

"When we are weak, we can still be strong. When we're under the greatest stress and facing the greatest challenges, it may be the best day of our lives, for God is working to make us in into the people he wants us to be." WOW AMEN!!!

So once I got my head back on straight.........hmmm..........it still seems a little crooked!........I went to play softball for my team, Heights Christian, and went 3 for 3!!! and had two good defensive plays!!! But those Baptist Deacon's really dunked us last night by 10 runs!!!!

The fellowship I have with my teammates is worth so much!!!

Speaking of 10 runs.....How does a Major League team give up a 10 run lead and lose, like the Minnesota Twins did last night? WOW!

Relationships:......I had lunch with daughter Gretchen Saturday.....What an ANGEL!!! She is working hard and studying hard at the University of New Mexico. We had such a blessed conversation. My relationship with the Kid's is closer than ever. I know many of you do this already...but stay close to the kid's.......let them talk to you.......build on the relationship so they feel they can tell you anything! Gretchen told me many things that were so important........but listen to this one......."Dad I am learning to sense when people are being superficial or sincere." That is so important, I talked to Gretchen about some HUGE mistakes I made thinking I was dealing with sincere people with good motives. It is so important to share our failures with our kids! To help them not make the same mistakes we did. We have great kid's who are honest to a fault.

Just one more thing about Kid's..........I tell them all the time and I say on the radio once in awhile........but not enough........Nothing good happens after midnight! This past weekend two kid's were killed in a traffic accident in Albuquerque at 3am. Please encourage the kid's to be home by 10 or no later than midnight........It's nut's out there during the day and REALLY nut's after 10pm. No matter where you live......small town America......be home....be safe. That goes for you adults too!!!!

yes..I am an old Man!!!! I was in bed by 9pm last night!

Just one more thing about relationships.......before we go on let me share this with you.........

Eliminate the poison of unrealistic expectations in others. Think of who you are asking too much of. Tell that person you have been expecting too much from them, tell them your sorry for being so hard on them. Promise them you'll seek to understand, and assure them of your unconditional love.

One of the biggest kick's I get out of doing the CUP and working at KKIM is all the people I get to know...because Life is one big meeting!!! Meeting people! Here are words from two of them.........

Dewey, it is AWESOME to have you as a friend in Jesus Christ too!
Praying for you and Sharon and family this morning! It is my mom's
96th birthday today. She has advanced dementia/ Alzheimer's but we are
gathering at her assisted living home today (I spend as much time as I
can there each day with her). Would love prayers for her ... that she
could feel joy and peace in her heart. She continually wonders why
her mom is not with her (as well as with other members of the family
who have already passed on) She has been such a blessing to me and it
is difficult to walk this road with her (but I will !). my mom's name is Jeanne. She enjoyed part of the day but then
had "sundown" syndrome and began having a really tough time. It is all
part of Alzheimer's I know, but I sure wish she could have peace Have a great
weekend and
again, thank you for all you do! Cherie

Cherie is an AWESOME women of God.........an ANGEL of GOD

Now Meet another ANGEL of God.........

All the best, I love your emails.

It so nice to work with someone who truly loves the Lord . Just my fyi........thoughts on you.

One of the greatest things about the CUP is brining people together for Jesus!!!

Let me leave this with you today...............

Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds. Hebrews 10:24

Let us pray.............

Lord, Thank You for the blessing of coming together for a cup with Your Word! Thank You Father for Your Armour! As Your Word says Father, "If two agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by You our Father." Your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. May we always follow Your path and not our will. In the name of Jesus, AMEN!

A CUP WITH JOE THE AMERICAN KKIM/DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

I just love hearing from you!!!

I will be on KKIM today with Pastor Allan Hawkins of New Life City at Noon, following Ask The Pastor with Marvin Capehart.

PRAISE GOD WE ARE HERE TOGETHER!!! It is so AWESOME to have you as a friend in Jesus Christ!

Let me share this with you...............

In 1955, President Eisenhower said this, "Without God, there could be no American form of Government, nor an American way of life. Recognition of the Supreme Being is the first------the most basic------expression of Americanism. Thus the founding fathers of America saw it, and thus with God's help, it will continue to be."

Without God, there would be no America.

Here is what British scholar, historian, and author, Paul Johnson has to say. In "A History of the American People" he writes ,"America had been founded primarily for religious purposes, and the Great Awakening had been the original dynamic of the continental movement for independence. The Americans were overwhelmingly church-going, much more so than the English, whose rule they rejected. There is no question that the Declaration of Independence was, to those who signed it, a religious as well as secular act....."

He also added, "And it is important to remember that America, as a whole, was a religious breakaway from Anglicanism.....Anglican arrogance in the early seventeenth century came home to roost in the 1770's." In the context of the Pilgrims and Puritans, Johnson writes, "religion was the biggest single motive in getting people to hazard all on the adventure........"

As you read the following email from Joe the American.....remember the above words and what President Eisenhower said, "Without God, there could be no American form of Government, nor an American way of life."

Hello Dewey,

Thank you for your the reading of my last email to you!

What is wrong with this countries politicians?

i.e.

On Wednesday August 5th, 2009, the city council of Lodi, California, led by Mayor Larry D. Hansen, will debate and possibly vote to ban the name of Jesus from public prayers offered by guest pastors invited to pray the invocation.

Under threat of lawsuit by atheists at the Wisconsin based Freedom From Religion Foundation, Mayor Hansen said he is considering changing the Lodi city council prayer policy (which has traditionally allowed the word "Jesus" to be spoken in 39 of the last 55 prayers) to instead censor all prayers into a moment of silence, rather than allow diversity of free speech.

Pastors will no longer be permitted to say "Jesus" in their public prayers, because atheist complainers are easily offended.

and

PENNSYLVANIA HOUSE SPEAKER HAS JUST BANNED JESUS PRAYERS

The right of pastors to pray publicly "in Jesus name" is under new attack in Pennsylvania too.

The Democrat Speaker of the Pennsylvania House Keith R. McCall has just issued (and enforced) a policy which bans the name of Jesus Christ as illegal speech that may not be uttered during voluntary prayers spoken before the Pennsylvania state legislature.

Pastor Gerry Stoltzfoos of Freedom Valley Worship Center in Adams County, PA had been invited to pray the invocation at the State-House on June 30th, but McCall's office insisted on previewing and censoring a written copy of the prayer beforehand.

"I wrote the prayer and sent it to them and they sent back a very short rejection notice," Pastor Stoltzfoos told reporters from One News Now. "So I wrote back, 'I'm curious as to why.' And they said it had an offensive word. 'Can you tell me what the word was?' And they came back and said 'Jesus.' Stoltzfoos says he prays in Jesus' name because Jesus instructed him to do so in the Bible. In John 14, 15, and 16, Jesus said three times, "the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name." Colossians 3:17 says, "whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus."

McCall's office then refused to allow Stoltzfoos to say the prayer before the legislature. The Democrat's staff told the pastor that Speaker McCall was afraid of lawsuit by atheist groups.

Dewey,

Did I miss the communistic and atheistic law that was passed?, repealing the First Amendment to the US CONSTITUTION?

http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/constitution.billofrights.html#amendmenti

We still have the following right don't we?
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

and Here is a link to the full Constitution:

http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/constitution.table.html#amendments

Why is it so easy for the politicians to play dead andf roll over to a few loose wing nuts?
Don't they, the politicians or their PA (Public Advisor's) offices know the constitution or what?

Thank God for the following:

Dr. James Dobson already advertised our 5 August rally to his entire Citizenlink Newsletter email list. And the Alliance Defense Fund has already taken up our cause in Lodi, by offering pro-bono legal aide, and suggesting a new pro-Jesus prayer policy they will defend, if the city council votes properly to continue permitting Jesus prayers rotating among other diverse prayers.

WAKE UP AMERICA!...

Your Freedoms are vanishing right before your eyes!

Get involved, stay informed, call and write your state governments when you don't agree with something they are doing.

Joe The Amrerican.

Beware those offended by the name of Jesus:

Matthew 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

Matthew 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Luke 21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

Luke 21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

and

Matthew 26:33 Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.

Thanks, Joe...here is the deal I am JUST SURE that Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC, will cover these stories! Fox is not the network many think it is....it exploits women! Remember when we were kids and Dad or Mom would say now I am going to count to five? Well max Lucado wants us to count to eight.........

Count to Eight (Woe, Be Gone)by Max Lucado
“We have here only five loaves and two fish.” (Matt. 14:17)

How do you suppose Jesus felt about the basket inventory? Any chance he might have wanted them to include the rest of the possibilities? Involve all the options? Do you think he was hoping someone might count to eight?

“Well, let’s see. We have five loaves, two fish…and Jesus!” Jesus Christ. The same Jesus who told us:

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. (Luke 11:19 NIV)

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. (John 15:7 NIV)

What ever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11:24 NIV)

Standing next to the disciples was the solution to their problems…but they didn’t go to him. They stopped their count at seven and worried.

What about you? Are you counting to seven, or to eight?

Here are eight worry stoppers to expand your tally:

Pray, first. “Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him…(I Peter 5:7 AMP)

Easy now. Slow down. “Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him (Ps. 37:7).

Act on it. The moment a concern surfaces, deal with it. Don’t dwell on it. Head off worries before they get the best of you. Be a doer, not a stewer.

Compile a worry list. Over a period of days record your anxious thoughts. Then review them. How many of them turned into a reality?

Evaluate your worry categories. Detect recurring areas of preoccupation that may become obsessions. Pray specifically about them.

Focus on today. God meets daily needs daily. He will give you what you need when it is needed.

Unleash a worry army. Share your feelings with a few loved ones. Ask them to pray with and for you.

Let God be enough. “Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” (Matt. 6:32-33 NLT).

Eight steps. Pray, first. Easy, now. Act on it. Compile a worry list. Evaluate your worry categories. Focus on today. Unleash a worry army. Let God be enough.

P-E-A-C-E-F-U-L

Sharon and I needed that with all the ups and downs in trying to sell our home......just like some of you out there..........and also many of you who are going through the ups and downs of life. Good stuff from Max!!!

Okay, I am going to try to take a three day weekend...I am off Monday.........

or as some might say, "Dewey you are way off anyhow!" HA! HA!

Let us Pray..........

Oh Lord, Let our ministries not get bogged down in the color of the carpet, meetings, red tape, Let us remember we are here to serve You. Let us get on our horses and ride for You! In the name of Jesus, AMEN!!!!!

Prayer Needs/News KKIM DDC

Dear KKIM Family,

Please pray for the family of Deputy Joe Harris who was shot and killed by a robber yesterday. Sgt. Harris is the first Sandavol County Deputy killed in the line of duty.
In a very short time this is the second Peace Officer New Mexico has lost in the line of duty.

Deputy Harris had many special friends at Enchanted Hill Elementary in Rio Rancho as he used to take his dog Harley with him to the school as part of a reading program for kids. The kids and teachers loved Deputy Harris and Harley.

And in just seconds....... the life of Deputy Harris was taken from us. God Bless Deputy Harris.

It is just another reminder that life here on earth can end quickly. Bad things do happen to good people.

It is so important to stay close to God.........we never know when we or our loved ones will be called home.

Pastor Anne called from Texas and asked for prayer. Some parts of Texas are 2 feet, yes 2 feet below normal precipitation. It is the worst drought since the mid 50's. Half the corn crop is lost.

In all times, especially now we need to be on our knees praying.

He was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed. Isaiah 59:16

God waits for His people's intercession.

The POWER of Heaven is at our disposal.

You haven't done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy. John 16:24

Jesus gave His unlimited prayer promise.

God has sent the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, and now you can call God your dear Father. Gal 4:6

Tomorrow on KKIM at Noon, following "Ask The Pastor" with Marvin Capehart, Pastor Alan Hawkins takes to the microphone, in his debut on Saturdays. Pastor Alan and his wife Gail have been blessing us every weekday afternoon now at 2pm and now they take the airwaves in Pastor Larry Moss's old spot at noon. I might be joining them....for a bit.......Lord willing.

Listen today at 2:30.........a surprise for you all! A NEW PROGRAM!!!!

PRAISE NOTE: Many of you are telling me you are so thankful with the quality of the people on KKIM. Let us give PRAISE TO GOD!!! It is all GOD!!!! God has brought us Godly people to be on KKIM and HE continues to do so. Let us thank the Lord!

Let us pray..............

Lord, we thank You for Your servants like Deputy Joe.......Thank you Father for servants like him to be an example for all of us........to give our lives for each other.
We pray for rain for Texas.........Lord.............we pray for those farmers and their families who need rain. You are the rain maker and we come to you Father with faith that it will rain.......heal the land Father............heal America, Father........A lot of America does not know what it is doing......Forgive us Father......We pray that we will once again be the home and the land where You are welcomed. In the name of Jesus, AMEN.

Once again we are now on Twitter........www.twitter.com/radiodewey
Lars is setting us up on Face Book and My Space. I was being dragged into this technology now they are just having to slightly push me as I see it as a way to reach more for Christ. It's like John Wesley had his horse...we now have the Internet!

Hey I am so super blessed.....My birthday present from Sharon arrived......It is a reprint of the Life and Times of John Wesley the founder of the Methodist Church! I have been wanting this series for years and Sharon found a reprint of Vol 2!!!!

He has been one of my heroes for years!!!Talk about an Evangelist!!!!!! Talk about a man who made it happen for the LORD!!!!

From 1748 at the age of 45 Wesley is in Wales and Ireland..he is at Builth..took his stand in the open air, immense congregations making surrounding woods and mountains echo, as they sung........

"Ye mountains and vales, In praises abound;

Ye hills and ye dales, Continue the sound;

Break forth into singing, Ye trees of the wood,

For Jesus is brining Lost sinners to God."

This man traveled so many miles on horse back.......was stoned......was threatened.......mobs threatened to burn the house he was staying in.........

What a ROLE MODEL!!!!! IT WAS ALL ABOUT JESUS!!!!

If John Wesley can do all he did..............I think you and me can do a little more for Jesus! AMEN!!!!

Let us pray.............

Dear Lord, We thank you for your servant John Wesley and what we can learn from him in spreading Your Word. In the name of Jesus, AMEN!

As we shared last time.........Uncle Joe says people need to get back to the word of God instead of their own will. We were in James in the last post..and now Paul sends us to Hebrews...........

Hi Dewey:
Always good to see your messages. I'm not much of a tech guy, so don't pick them up often. (And don't know how to use twitter, tweeter, or whatever it is.)
Glad to read your note about the book of James, which I agree is so great for Christian living. I've been praying and meditating on Hebrews 4:12 before my Bible study lately.
The big news around Sioux Falls lately is the Lifelight Festival over the labor day weekend. Believe that the Newsboys will be the headliner this year.
Hope all is well with you and your family. May God Bless you richly.
Your friend in Christ,
Paul

Paul, It is so good to hear from you..........

Let us look at Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Psalm 147:15 says.........

He sends out His command to the earth; His word runs very swiftly.

Ephesians 6:17 says.........

And take the helmet of salvation, and His sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Let us pray over these word's from our God. Paul thank you for sharing. You are a wonderful man of God! I use the King James Bible, myself.

Leadership and Spiritual Warfare certainly go together. I ask my Pastor Friends much about Spiritual Warfare. Many Christians do not believe in it or know what it is. It is my attempt today to share with you what God has laid on my heart about it.........

It's so cool to be in the Lord..... He speaks to us through the Holy Spirit.......So the Lord sent me to a book called, "The Leadership Secrets of Billy Graham".

Keep in mind the meaning of this word.........

cru·ci·ble (krs-bl)n.
1. A vessel made of a refractory substance such as graphite or porcelain, used for melting and calcining materials at high temperatures.
2. A severe test, as of patience or belief; a trial.

Here we go...........pages 32-33

What a strange alchemy great leadership is! A potent combustible pressured into a person's life------like high octane fuel: once dark decay drawn from the deeps but suddenly in new form, ignited and powerful.
The furnace that forges leadership burns steadily, and this is particularly true among those charged with very large responsibility. Billy was a friend and counselor to many American Presidents during time of crises. All these chief executives experienced extreme personal testing. One can read in each of their lives, from Eisenhower through George W. Bush, growth through immersion in the crucible.

For instance, Ronald Reagan biographer Peggy Noonan uses just that word to describe the period when the future President, as a young actor, experienced a string of calamities, including near-death in a hospital, the fading of his acting career, and the loss of his marriage. Jane Wyman's filing for divorce devastated him. And yet this is a man whose legacy is his optimism, the man who stirred the morale of a nation with his upbeat charm. (WOW! Don't we miss him! sadly, many never know him!)

"these days were the crucible," writes Noonan, "the essential experience of his adulthood, the great educator, the time that formed him and that he referred back to all his life."

In the same way that Theodore Roosevelt modeled his life after his evangelical father, who had lived with such vigor and love, Ronald Reagan modeled his after his evangelical mother, "a little tornado of goodness," to use Noonan's phrase. (My models where my Dad, Mom, Grandpa and Grandma Caraway and Uncle Joe)

The great test came for Reagan came when, retuning from service in WWII, his career opportunities wilted, and he eventually found himself in a different war. As President of the Screen Actor's guild during the McCarthy blacklist battles, (Most Americans can't tell you anything about this time in our history) Reagan stood firmly opposed to the brutal tactics of the Communists, yet stood firm against the unfair accusations. he was caught in the middle, but the experiences toughened him, taught him, enabled him to take in stride unfair accusations and avalanches of press criticism. It also made him more intently a man of prayer!!!

Just one final part of the book I want to share with you.........

During his time in office as President, Reagan reached out to Billy Graham, who was going through what was perhaps the evangelist's greatest strategic crises. In 1982 it seemed the media and all America had turned against him for agreeing to travel to the Soviet Union, and seemingly being used by the U.S.S.R. for propaganda purposes. President Reagan took Billy aside. "You know what's been in the press," he said. "I believe that God works in mysterious ways. I'll be praying for you every mile of the way."

History now depicts both Reagan and Billy as heroes in those struggles in the early 1980's with the Soviets. But at the time, both had to meet those tests with the endurance of the tested leader.

Out of crucibles, positive leadership. paradox. Leadership requires awareness of one's own emotions and depths; awareness of multiple forces shaping perceptions and drives; awareness of the dark and the light and the large consequences of one's acts.

WOW!!! AMEN!!!! Thanks to pastor Don Kimbro for giving me this book, Don is one of my mentor's.

As the deer pants for water, so my soul pants for you, O God. Psalm 42:1

Send me an email if this info has touched your heart.

Now let's turn to Pastor Leonard Navarre on Spiritual Warfare......going through that furnace.........

We are at war, spiritually. Any time we start moving closer to God's will and our obedience, the evil ramps up the war effort.

"Greater is He that is in YOU, than he, who is in the world". Great and mighty is the Lord our God.

praying for hedges of protection to surround you.

Leonard

Leonard wrote this.........
Some thoughts on spiritual warfare adapted from David Jeremiah

The Spiritual Attack

Adapted from David Jeremiah’s

Spiritual Warfare

Satan uses militaristic structure to carry out his war plans against the work of God. Paul calls them “wiles of the devil”. Ephesians 6:11

“Wiles” means “organized conduct”, “plans of war”, “strategy” or “methodology”. I have said for years that we are not in a game of “tiddle winks”, “Play Station” or “Wii”. This is serious stuff. Satan is coming against all who belong to God in a power on slaught of powerful devices with goal of destroying anything and everything that belongs to God.

Paul gave a stout warning to the Corinthian believers about being “ignornant of his devices”. Remember in the Old Testament where Satan led Lot into Sodom, drove Abram into Egypt and tricked Peter into denying Christ Jesus. It was Satan who made Ananias and Sapphira lie to the Holy Spirit. It was Satan who even attacked and tempted the Lord Jesus Christ. If Satan is so bold as to attack Jesus, he certainly will not hesitate to attack you and me. Peter says, “be self controlled, be alert, for the enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whomever he can devour.” I Peter 5:8

Remember, friends, that spiritual warfare is being carried out on Satan’s territory, not ours. This world lies in the power of the evil one, for John wrote, “…and the whole world is under the control of the evil one.” I John 5:19

So, what is Satan trying to do. He has 3 primary goals.

1) He wants to destroy your life, my life and every Christian.

2) He strives to destroy unity, purity and oneness in every family and Christian homes especially.

3) It is his top priority to destroy and work of the body of Christ, the church, by embarrassing it publicly, eroding her ministry, discrediting her leaders and wiping out her finance base.

When Peter describes the work of Satan as a “roaring lion seeking whom he may devour” we are talking serious business. The word for “devour” is the same word translated “drown” in Hebrews 11:29. Satan wants to completely engulf and overwhelm every Christian, every home, and the entire body of Jesus Christ, the church. He wants to drown, to extinguish the fire of my faith, your faith and the church so that there is no influence left. And, he will use every device and deception to his advantage to destroy the bride of Jesus Christ.

So, my friends, be alert, be on guard. We must control our minds and our actions and bring them under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and be warriors fighting for our families, for our friends and for the church of our Lord Jesus Christ. Fight, stand. Don’t give up. Don’t give in. NO compromise. Pray for one another.

Leonard Navarre

Frank sent this to us...........it is so AWESOME!
Meaning of Flag Draped Coffin

All Americans should be given this lesson. Those who think that America is an arrogant nation should really reconsider that thought. Our founding fathers used GOD's word and teachings to establish our Great Nation and I think it's high time Americans get re-educated about this Nation's history. Pass it along and be proud of the country we live in and even more proud of those who serve to protect our 'GOD GIVEN' rights and freedoms

I hope you take the time to read this..... To understand what the flag draped coffin really means.... Here is how to understand the flag that laid upon it and is given to so many widows and widowers.

Do you know that at military funerals, the 21-gun salute stands for the sum of the numbers in the year 1776?

Have you ever noticed the honor guard pays meticulous attention to correctly folding the United States of America Flag 13 times? You probably thought it was to symbolize the original 13 colonies, but we learn something new every day!

The 1st fold of the flag is a symbol of life.

The 2nd fold is a symbol of the belief in eternal life.

The 3rd fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veterans departing the ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of the country to attain peace throughout the world.

The 4th fold represents the weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in time of war for His divine guidance

The 5th fold is a tribute to the country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, 'Our Country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong.'

The 6th fold is for where people's hearts lie. It is with their heart that They pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States Of America , and the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.

The 7th fold is a tribute to its Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that they protect their country and their flag against all her enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of their republic.

The 8th fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day.

The 9th fold is a tribute to womanhood, and Mothers. For it has been through their faith, their love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great has been molded.
The 10th fold is a tribute to the father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of their country since they were first born.

The 11th fold represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon and glorifies in the Hebrews eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The 12th fold represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in the Christians eyes, God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit.

The 13th fold, or when the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost reminding them of their nations motto, 'In God We Trust.'

After the flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the soldiers who served under General George Washington, and the Sailors and Marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones, who were followed by their comrades and shipmates in the Armed Forces of the United States, preserving for them the rights, privileges and freedoms they enjoy today.

There are some traditions and ways of doing things that have deep meaning. In the future, you'll see flags folded and now you will know why.

MAYBE THE SUPREME COURT SHOULD READ THIS EXPLANATION BEFORE THEY RENDER THEIR DECISION ON THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. FORWARD IT; MAYBE SOMEONE WITH THE NECESSARY POWER, OR POLITICAL AND FINANCIAL INFLUENCE, WILL GET IT TO THEM.

IN THE MEANTIME, MAY GOD PROTECT US ALWAYS.

ONE NATION, UNDER GOD, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.

Now let us follow up that wonderful story on the flag............with another reason to fly the flag.........this is a part of American History that many AMERICANS have never known or have forgotten about.........

By John Blake CNN

Ben Steele hated the young man as soon as he saw him.

Ben Steele at a Japanese coal mine prison camp in 1944.

The man's almond-shaped eyes, dark hair and olive skin -- Steele had seen those Asian facial features before.
He saw that face when he watched Japanese soldiers behead sick men begging for water, run over stumbling prisoners with tanks and split his comrades' skulls with rifle butts.
"Men died like flies," Steele says. "I thought for a while I would never make it."
Steele, now 91, is one of the last survivors of the Bataan Death March.
During World War II, the Japanese army forced American and Filipino prisoners of war on a march so horrific that the Japanese commander was later executed for war crimes.
Steele returned home to Montana after the war to teach, but he still had something to learn.
When he saw a young Japanese-American student seated in his class one day, he felt both anger and anguish.
What, he wondered, do I do with all of the hate I've brought home with me?
'The worst war story' he ever heard
Steele's answer to that question can be found in the new book "Tears in the Darkness," a searing depiction of the Bataan Death March.
The book details how Steele found help through an unlikely source. But he would first have to survive one of the worst defeats in U.S. military history.
In December 1941, Japanese forces attacked an army of American and Filipino soldiers in the Philippine Islands and forced them to surrender. They captured 76,000 prisoners, double what they had expected.

The Japanese forced the POWs to march 66 miles under a tropical sun to a railway station for transport. They shot, bayoneted and beat to death prisoners who couldn't keep pace.

At least 7,000 soldiers died during the march. More died later. The brutal conditions of the march contributed to the subsequent deaths of an estimated 25,000 Filipinos and 1500 Americans in Japanese prison camps, says Michael Norman, a Vietnam veteran who wrote "Tears in the Darkness," with his wife, Elizabeth.
"It's the worst war story I've ever heard," Norman says. "What they [the Japanese] did was monstrous."

Prisoners were forced to bury others alive and work as slave laborers; some were executed for sport. One Japanese soldier, who later became a Buddhist priest, told the authors that he is still haunted by what he did on Bataan.

Some Filipinos who live today near the march's route say that they, too, cannot forget what happened, Elizabeth Norman says. "They would tell us that when they lay awake at night, they thought they could still hear the trampling of the men's feet on the death march," she says.

Why Steele survived

The death march was filled with villains, but the authors also found a hero: Steele. The march is told through his eyes and drawings. Steele was a cowboy from Montana who could ride a horse, rope cattle and shoot by the time he was 8 years old.
"I thought that if anybody gets out of here, I'm going to be one of them," says Steele, who was a 22-year-old Army Air Corps private when he was captured.
At times, though, Steele wondered whether he was being too optimistic. He was bayoneted, starved and beaten. He was constantly ill, and his weight fell to 112 pounds.
Steele found a way to preserve his mind even as his body wasted away: He drew. He started sketching pictures of what he saw during his captivity.
"I felt an obligation to show people what went on there," he says.
Steele was released after three years of captivity when World War II ended. He returned to Billings, Montana, where he became an art professor at a state college.
"I had a lot of anger when I got home," Steele says. "We were beaten for so long. I hated [the Japanese]."
Steele meets his 'nemesis'
Steele's hatred smoldered for 15 years. It threatened to spill out into the open in 1960, when he walked into his classroom on the first day of the semester and saw a Japanese-American student.
In "Tears in the Darkness," Steele says that his "heart hardened and filled with hate." But he was so anguished by what he was feeling, he returned to his office after class to think.
He told himself that the war was over; he wasn't a prisoner anymore, and he had to treat the Japanese-American student like anybody else, because he was an American, too.
Then he did something else. He invited the student to his office for a talk.
The student's name was Harry Koyama, and he, too, had been marked by the war. His family had been imprisoned at a "relocation camp" in Arizona during the war.
Steele also discovered that he and Koyama had something else in common: a passion for drawing Montana's rural life. By the end of the semester, Koyama was one of Steele's best students.
Steele says that talking to Koyama helped his hatred evaporate.
"We had a discussion and finally came to an understanding that we liked each other," he says.
Today, Steele and Koyama remain in touch.
"We're the best of friends," Koyama tells CNN from his Montana art studio. "We see each other regularly."
Koyama says he can't remember exactly what he and Steele talked about first, only that Steele had always treated him well. Steele did tell him later that their relationship helped him recover from the war, he says.
"I was just there," Koyama says. "I just happened to be there for him to use my presence as a way to overcome his dark time."
Koyama says he is still amazed by Steele's survival story.
"Just to be a part of his life is an honor," Koyama says.
Steele's voice is still strong and his mind sharp. He's been married to his wife, Shirley, for 57 years, and they have three children and six grandchildren.
Steele says Bataan taught him to treasure small pleasures, like a drink of cool water and a warm bed at night. "I'm thankful that I have a plateful of food," he says. "I can remember when that plate was empty." He still remembers tiny details from the death march as well. He constantly draws pictures of his friends and tormentors on Bataan. Their faces fill his sketchbooks. Steele's hate may be gone, but the death march lingers.
"I think about it every day," he says. "It's in my mind, and I'll never get it out.

Shona Neff, heard Saturday mornings on KKIM at 7:30 has this report for us on the Beth Moore Conference this past weekend.........Sandy Harrington and Shona represented KKIM........

The Beth Moore conference was a true blessing. Women started lining up well before the event started and scurried to get good seats once the doors opened! (I hope they were all Christian on their quest for awesome seats.) Actually, there was no a bad seat in the house. The Santa Ana Star Center is a very user friendly venue once you find it in the boon docks!

The event started with wonderful worship music and Beth Moore gave an incredible message based on 1 Samuel 1-3. Her message was spot on and she introduced one of her special new friends who had come from Wyoming to hear her in Albuquerque. Without going into too much detail, it turns out that Beth's new friend spent 5 years (from age 3 to 8) in Dokkow Concentration Camp. When they were liberated by American forces, Beth Moore's dad was one of the guys who assisted the children. It seems a very special bond came full circle and it brought the crowd of 3000 to their feet as we praised God for an incredible journey that only He could orchestrate.

Sandy and I were blessed to meet many of the women who attended and stopped by to visit the KKIM table and sign up for the free gift pack we were giving away. One especially fun moment for me was reconnecting with my best friend from high school who I had not seen for 8 years (last time at our 20th high-school reunion.) We had a great time catching up on the lost years.

Dr. Miner's Weekly Wellness Wisdom
Last week I had the pleasure of going on vacation with my family. My wife Wendy and I took our 2 year old son Landon and our 7 month old daughter Verity to San Diego. This was the first time in a year that we took a week off and within a couple of days I realized how much my mind and body needed the break.

Early this week one of our clients brought in a research paper about the importance of time off.

Researchers from the State University of New York at Oswego conducted a survey of more than 12,000 men ages 35 to 57 who had participated in a large heart disease prevention trial. The results, presented last March at a meeting of the American Psychosomatic Society in Savannah, suggest that men who take vacations every year reduce their overall risk of death by about 20 percent, and their risk of death from heart disease by as much as 30 percent.

To their surprise, the researchers discovered that some of the men surveyed didn't take any vacation time over the five years surveyed. But instead of being rewarded for their dedication to the job, they suffered the highest overall death rate and highest incidence of heart disease of any of the participants.

So whether it is a vacation or a staycation, plan some time off to rest your body and connect with your family. Time off from work is one more part of your optimal health plan.

Also Miki got this letter from Tony Perkins who is on KKIM weekdays during New Mexico News and Views.........

Dear Miki,

On Wednesday, July 15, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on
a bill that will allow public funds to be used to pay directly for
abortions in our nation's capital. If this measure passes, taxpayer money
appropriated by Congress will be sent directly to the abortion industry
in Washington , D.C.

Tell your member of Congress to oppose this change in the law and to
vote against the passage of H.R. 3170 if it continues to allow the use of
locally generated tax revenues - public money - to be used for the killing
of innocent human lives in the womb.

Since 1988, except for a short period under President Clinton, the
Congress of the United States has adopted language known as the Dornan Amendment that
limits the use of tax funds to pay for abortions in the nation's
capital. This amendment has been applied to both federally and locally generated tax
revenues - in short, all public funds - that are appropriated by Congress to the
District of Columbia . This amendment has protected women in Washington
, D.C. from the abortion industry and led many to choose positive alternatives
for themselves and their babies.

Now, pro-abortion members of Congress want tax funds used for abortion
again. If they succeed in doing so on H.R. 3170, this will open the door for the
repeal of nearly two dozen other federal laws that have similar limits on
the use of public money to pay for abortions, including through the pending
health care reform. The stakes could not be higher. Please contact your member
of Congress now and tell him or her to oppose H.R. 3170 if it allows the use
of locally generated tax funds for abortion. Please act now as the vote is
likely to happen on Wednesday, July 15.

Thank you and God bless you.

Tell your representative to oppose H.R. 3170 if it allows public funds for
abortion in Washington, D.C.
